whenever there are new tmf fans, i've noticed that the first character many of them have latched on to are either one of these guys, so... i was wondering.

elliot's low self-esteem usually leads her to be harsh on herself, not at others. especially when she's aware of social cues but cannot properly respond to them, being too caught up in her own head, that the interaction can go sour quick. a self-fulfilling prophecy and only more fodder for elliot to beat herself up with.

like i said, elliot's frustrations go inwards... so more accurately to canon, i think if she had a taste of friendship* and then felt that it was getting ripped from her (she's never had a strong grip on other people anyway) it'd probably play out closer to "oh my god i hate myself but it's no surprise this is the outcome because i always mess things up i should end it all" etc.

... where was i going with this. oh yeah, i thought it would be interesting if her upset, for once, presented itself by projecting her own self-loathing on another. confirm to her thoughts about herself, even if she knows deep down that the other person doesn't actually hate her, and at the same time perceive the abscesses of her mind exploding. oh you've done it again, elliot
