Alright! Osomatsu-san time!

I'm probably not gonna liveblog it shot by shot but I'll probably stop a couple of times here and there to gush about Iyami, heh. It's the first episode of the season, he HAS to show up.

I couldn’t actually liveblog the episode because I had to go out but I just wanted to let you guys know that I’m still not 100% healed from my lumbar puncture and seeing that the huge ass in a miniskirt that popped up one minute into the new intro belonged to Iyami made me literally feel so lightheaded I got nauseous. I had to stop the video and lay flat on my back for a while to recover. They had me reenacting the “i think i hauve Covid” tweet irl over here.

Here’s the official announcement of the new band who will be taking on the duty of performing the new season’s opening theme, Da Pump, whose members all dressed as Iyami for the occasion!

The new theme song is called “Osomatsu-san no Bomb A Sheeeh!”, is said to be a cover of a western song (with an unique Osomatsu-san twist) and had its lyrics written by m.c.A·T, a rapper and singer which Da Pump has worked closely with in the past. In fact, the name of the song is a direct reference to m.c.A·T‘s 1993 single Bomb a Head!, which received a rerelease in 2003 featuring none other than Da Pump. It has then had a second remix in 2007, being the opening song for the anime Tenjou Tenge! You can give this last version a listen here:

Despite the name, though, Osomatsu-san no Bomb A Sheeh! and Bomb A Head! seem to be completely different songs!

Everyone, listen… the opening theme for Osomatsu-san Season 4 has been announced—it’s “Bonbashé” by DA PUMP. This is the artist I used to be crazy about, and I’m so happy I feel like I’m gonna puke. And get this… they’re all cosplaying as Iyami. What the hell…! And the dance? I heard it’s super cool too… I’m gonna die.
