Stuck in Slow Moving Lanes, on the Automaking Superhighway.
It seems like the legacy automakers are stuck in their lane on a slow moving highway. Stop-start traffic, when a new retro model gets good reviews, which at times becomes a traffic jam when its unaffordable. The straight road which seemed the most efficient, is now saturated with brands offering practically the same products, and the next off ramp seems a fair bit away. And thats if any brand is willing to risk leaving the toll road, or try the scenic route? For more than a decade fewer younger people have been buying cars, what opportunities have been missed? Did VW really need a Truck, does the Ford Capri really need to look like a Polestar 2, does Opel need another SUV? Planned obsolescence should take some years, and not at launch. The Automaking Superhighway, like all straight roads is boring and walled-off from the real world. So is it any wonder that most car companies do not appear creative and aware enough to compete with Chinese imports? Where do executives imagine the Automaking Superhighway is leading, and do managers know how close the next petrol station is?
There comes a point where every brand, must move its design away from the center.
And maybe government and culture, also move more left, or right, when progress and innovation slows. The question is, how much and in favor of whom?
Could retro footwear design be in the center? With modern materials, or colours and old patterns? Or maybe conservative styles lean right?
Or what new, inspiring stories can be told from the center?

At least a another kind of cloud? A storm cloud and maybe some lightning, to develop on a unique and established story?
Double down on your identity.
And if you must lose the holes in the sole, or the cloud, maybe lean into the circular lines of logo shape for it's design language. Although the upper does look "cloudish".
