:')
based on the tailpiece and P-90’s I am guessing this is a ‘54 Les Paul (or a heavily aged Gibson Custom reissue. But holy good crap this is beautiful!
I am not usually a fan of beat up Gibsons - most Fenders look GREAT when worn and beaten, but Gibsons are so pretty…they usually look terrible when they are all messed up. EXCEPT for this one. It’s gorgeous! :D
look at that checking :3

I bought a J. Mascis Jazzmaster today, and I feel bad for my other guitars that will be neglected because of this transaction.
Played one of these today. I love the way it sounds, especially with the additional lead/rhythm circuit. I’d totally buy one if not for the neck, which completely let the guitar down in my view. I’m also not keen on basswood bodies. If I’m buying a Jazzmaster it’ll be the MIM Classic Player Jazzmaster Special, to me it’s worth the extra £300.
The music store I bought this from had the classic player jazzmaster for 200 dollars more. I compared the two for over an hour, but the Mascis is truly better. They also have the same 9.5" fretboard with the same scale length and nut width. The Mascis' neck has a satin finish, which to many people, especially those like me who play outdoor gigs on hot days, is a lifesaver because the neck doesn't feel sticky, like the classic player's poly finish. They neither have true jazzmaster pickups, but the Mascis' soapbar-like pickups are better in every way, for cleans and overdrives. While I am not keen on basswood either, the mascis, also because of the updated tailpiece sustains WAY better than the classic player. The mascis jazzmaster is truly the better guitar, and that's without even figuring prices. The only reason why someone would spend MORE for the classic player is because of the sticker on the headstock.
