I’m really unsure if this is incredibly impressive, incredibly creepy, or both.
Probably both.
Whoa.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation just released its annual "Who Has Your Back" report card, detailing the privacy policies of tech companies. Here's the rundown of who fights for your privacy in the face of government requests for your dataâand who doesn't even bother.
Important stuff this is.
Most notably, I am exceptionally displeased with verizon though I cannot say I am surprised by this.
Legend of Dungeon
Zekna here. Been playing some Legend of Dungeon lately. Only had it for a couple days, but it's been a blast. With an already solid experience and some interesting features on the way (like player classes), I'd recommend it to any rougelike/beat 'em up fans out there.
Fuck yeah.

Also I sort of really want it. Anyway...
So I'm learning Python from Code Academy and if you click on "serious problem" as it appears in the above instructions it takes you to here.
Oh, and, um, hi. I'm the third person with access to this blog and I'm the only one not yet fluent in any programing language.
We haven't posted in a while due to things going on - but we're still here and alive.
GitHub's code search has been improved! I consider singular points of input to be the idealized design - it really can't be cleaner than that. In terms of web user interfaces the issue with those becomes file input, because the user often won't realize that dropping a file into the area is also possible. But that's an aside - look at this:
Beautiful is at least my opinion. I find it a bit soothing that they chose a freely available / open-source system to handle the actual backend for the code indexing - ElasticSearch - just knowing that they used tools that everyone else is quite open to use feels nice.
Kvey: on Github's newly updated code search feature.
Convenient in the case where you accidentally end up with a file that's a bit big for git to handle passing around.
#!/bin/bash NUMB=$1 TMP1=$(mktemp) TMP2=$(mktemp) : ${NUMB:=5} git verify-pack -v .git/objects/pack/*.idx | sort -k 3 -n | tail -$1 | sed 's/ /\t/g' | cut -f1 > $TMP1 git rev-list --objects --all > $TMP2 RETURN=$(grep -Ff "$TMP1" "$TMP2") echo "$RETURN"
Line 5 : ${NUMB:=5} is defaulting the value of $NUMB to 5 in the case where someone doesn't pass a parameter for the number of files to pull up. Example usage would be ./gitlrg.sh 20 to get the 20 largest files currently being tracked. Gist for this script

Awesome Games Done Quick 2013

Awesome Games Done Quick - one of Speed Demos Archive's two annual speedrunning charity marathons - just finished up and it was fantastic.
There were a lot of really great runs and runners present this year. If you missed out on the action I highly suggest you check out the archives (once they've been processed and put up).
Do you even Hadoop?

I know those of you who saw my last amv were hoping I would stop, but I'm back with another. This time I try my hand at some BRS action. The track is Feed the Machine (Original) by Black Sun Empire and Noisia.
Let us know what you think and what you want to see here by asking or commenting on our facebook or twitter.
Everything, Nothing

Everything, Nothing on Vimeo.
Here's my first amv, graciously hosted by Kvey on his vimeo account. Anime used is Toradora and the music is entitled "_" by wauterboi (from his album If Then).
Toradora was a very natural choice for me, when I was deciding on an anime to use. There's something inexplicable that draws me to it, despite having seen other anime with better art, better stories. I think it may be the characters -- they're very real to me. The stories in it don't explicitly focus on one aspect of their lives or exaggerate too much; it follows them through smiles and grimaces, through boredom and through stress. If you haven't seen it and enjoy anime in the slice of life/romance/comedy vein, you may enjoy it.
At any rate, this amv is my attempt to convey what Toradora means to me. It may be a clumsy attempt, but I hope you enjoy it.
