enough is enough.
let us have zero tolerance for this deterrent. It is abhorrent to separate children from their parents. Period
Where are our children?
P U L S E: Rocked by the inhumanity so evident, and all the while trying to believe and know that compassion and loving kindness are intrinsic to human nature. There are two principle currents flowing in this piece, one just flows, not totally harmonious, but true to itself, while the other is fragmenting what is in its path. The work is an amalgam of atoms and bits, even an extraction from woven strips of tree bark, (that felt right because it seemed to reach into our DNA in looking for common ground.
Here and No
When asked the salutary question common in todays language “what’s happening” the response could easily be — “everything”. It used to be that this response would raise a smile or a comment. After years it seems that “everything” is a fairly accurate response. In Here and Now that is carried further, attempting to create a scape of a moment and all the possibilities that are going on in that particular piece of time. On a philosophical note — it is the only piece of time we really seem to have — not the past - gone — not the future - has not happened yet — just Here and Now.

Sparks and Honey: 2018 Trends Brief.
Thank you Sparks and Honey - for an iMax view of the cultural stew in which we are simmering. A compelling set of observations: What is happening to us, in us and around us and how we may be responding and reacting. Phenomenological Semiotics is a concept that arises after this read of the 2018 Trends brief. No self just signs.

Title: Bliss: Inspired by a concept that renowned Mythologist Joseph Campbell shared with his students in the 1970s with the phrase “Follow your Bliss”. Often I have wondered what bliss looked like and seldom did I have an image — although there was often a sense or a feeling — an example might be the rapture felt have when doing something that isreally constructively enjoyable, i.e. g building a bird house with a child, building a wall, working in the garden, drawing, making music, etc., There is a feeling in the doing, a connection with doer that is undeniable and perfect in that moment. That feeling is what I was attempting to identify here. I am sure I will attempt again in bliss.
