Edit: okay, I think I have to clarify this because a lot of people are misunderstanding. Darling, if you want to headcanoning Mettaton as a woman, do it, I’m not against that. My real frickin’ problem starts when someone try to force you believe he is/was a woman, saying that’s in the game, that’s official and stuff like that, when it’s not true, just because they don’t like the fact he’s a man or Idk. I made a post explaining this already. It’s about a guy who was yelling in the comments section of a Youtube video, saying it’s “CONFIRMED” that Mettaton was a woman in his ghost form (When ghosts doesn’t even have gender) and Frisk is a girl and that’s confirmed (I’d like to think that Frisk is a girl but everyone knows Frisk doesn’t have gender either). When it’s NOT trueeee. I made this post for people like him. You should ask or something before insulting each other’s opinion. I haven’t insulted anyone. ————————————

Frist of all, I want to clarify that my intention is not to offend anyone with this post, so I hope nobody take this personal. In addition, all I will say then, I will say it with bases and arguments. None of this is invented.

All right, before starting playing Undertale for the first time (and I have played the game six times), my favorite character is and always has been Mettaton. Having said that, when I started to integrate myself into the fandom, I gradually dawned on me that there is an extraordinary amount of people who, for some reason I don’t understand and I will never understand, confuse Mettaton’s gender, and that bothers me a lot. It’s not so much the fact that they are confused, what bothers me is that there are people who are one hundred percent sure that Mettaton is a woman, when that’s not true. As if they were the very creator of the game.

First: EVERYONE, throughout the game, calls Mettaton as a HE, as a MAN, as a BOY. For this reason it’s obvious that Mettaton is not a woman but people are still confused and don’t know why.

Second: Mettaton has a MALE voice. The voice you can hear when Mettaton changes his form to EX’s form and when you attacks him during the fight on a neutral route is clearly a MALE voice. There’s NO way that his voice would be a woman’s voice.

Third: One of the finals of the neutral route, after killing Toriel and Undyne, Mettaton becomes into the KING of the Underground. It says clearly; “KING” 

Fourth: If you take the time to read the Undertale’s wikia, as I did, you’ll find all the information given about Mettaton, and on the page clearly talks about Mettaton, in his robot and ghost form, as a HE, as a MAN, with a MALE gender. NOWHERE does it say that Mettaton is or was a woman so I honestly can’t understand why there are so many people in the fandom striving to say that Mettaton is a woman or transgender, when for God sake it’s not.

Fifth: If you start to talk about Mettaton with Catty and Bratty, they will say at some point in the conversation that Mettaton is like their robot HUSBAND, but he doesn’t know.

Sixth: In the Wikia, in the curiosities section, it says that Toby Fox was inspired by the Magipsias, characters of the game “Mother 3”, to create Mettaton. The Magipsias are basically MALE characters with feminine TASTES. That’s why the Mettaton’s house in Waterfall is all pink from inside.

Seventh: In the game, the pronouns used for the characters that have no gender are “They” and “them”. Those pronouns are used on the ghosts of the game; Napstablook and “Happstablook” which means that Mettaton, in his ghost form has no gender. In this way, you can see mettaton as a trans male, because he went from not having gender to have male gender. This proves that he WASN’T NEVER a woman.

Eighth: That sprite of Mettaton in his ghost form, from the Underswap AU IS NOT OFFICIAL. Yeah, that pink ghost which is supposed to be Happs it’s not official, was made by a fan. So, there is no official evidence that he was a pink ghost. In case he was really a pink ghost, again, that doesn’t mean he as a girl.

Nineth: I’m not sure if this is true because Toby Fox has changed his Twitter account two times but I have seen this tweet in  A LOT of pages.

─ “Oh but Mettaton is a robot so he doesn’t have gender.” If you mean that he can’t have penis, so can I say that Sans and Papyrus can be women because they are skeletons and, well, they don’t have any organ? C’mon, don’t be so hypocrite, that has nothing to do with it. Remember that Alphys is otaku and everyone knows in anime there are all kinds of porn, so she could get inspired by that to give Mettaton that kind of functions. But that’s go around the bush.

 ─ “But his house in Waterfall is all pink, that means he was a girl.” READ the wikia. MAN with feminine TASTES. Robot HUSBAND. The fact his house is all pink DOESN’T MEAN HE IS OR WAS A GIRL. Nowhere does it say he was or is a woman. Men can like the pink color and feel fabulous with high pink heels.

─ “But if Mettaton is a man, that means he’s gay and I don’t think Toby Fox wants that in his game”. In the whole game there are only two canon couples. Undyne and Alphys (both women), and Guard 01 and Guard 02 (Both men). So that makes no sense.

The simple fact that Mettaton is an effeminate and possibly homosexual character doesn’t mean he is a woman or transgender. If all the information appears on the game and on the official website of the same, why are people so foolish? For this reason I began to dislike the fandom. There are so many good facts of the Undertale’s fandom and these kinds of things are ruining it.

In addition, I have absolutely nothing against transgender people, don’t misunderstand me, please; I’m only against that ones who try to canonize information that is not. All they do is confuse people who haven’t played the game.

If you’re one of the people who were confused about Mettaton’s gender, here I explain. Don’t worry, my problem is not why you. If you wanna know the real information, it’s okay.

If you are one of those who spread false or unofficial information, let me tell you what you do fall quite heavy, so you should not do it more. Search about it, it costs nothing.

2P!America

When he was young, Allen had a friend named Jamie who was paralyzed from the neck down due to polio.

Eventually, Jamie passed away became of his condition.

In his gangster phase, Allen stole a car and drove it down an interstate, causing a ruckus for the police of Washing D.C.

During the 1960s, when Allen was a teenager, he experimented with illegal substances and went through his hippie phase.

Allen’s parents are a bit illusive, but he is related to 2P!Finland and 2P!Ancient North America

2P!England

Oliver’s mother was 2P!Britannia.

When he was very young, Oliver was moving all over the place, living with 2P!Rome for a time then being stolen away by many other ancient civilizations over and over again.

Oliver went through a time when he would spent hours hanging around a stage, watching the stage hands set up and the actors practice their lines. He would create ballads and epics then try to get the director to feature it, but the directors would always graciously decline and tell Oliver that he ought to get back to more courtly duties.

2P!Canada

Matt and Allen had always been close when they were young. As they grew older, they only became better friends.

Louie and Oliver looked over them when they were younger, but Matt was much more independent than Allen.

Matt met Kuma, his pet brown bear, when he was exploring the forest. Matt was a youngster and Kuma was a small cub. Kuma could talk so Matt decided to keep him as a pet.

Even when he was young, Matt was very in tune with nature. He enjoyed being in the dense pine forests and hunting. Matt hunted and sold most of what he collected, usually he dealt in animal furs and other luxuries.

Louis’s mother is 2P!Gual.

His mother was invaded by 2P!Rome, but later emerged again, only to be finished off by 2P!Germania. Louis knew his mother for only a short time.

Even when he was young, Louis was gloomy, cynical type due to witnessing all the bloodshed and back stabbing of his fellow countries.

In their early years, Louis and Oliver got along alright, but Louis was flat out disgusted by Oliver’s happy go lucky attitude and Oliver constantly nipped at him to be happier.

Like Oliver, Louis loved literature and the theater when he was younger, but he was a bit embarrassed about it and went to plays in secret.

2P!China

Xiao is unaware of any parents that he has, but he vaguely remembers someone before him in his earliest memories, but he can’t remember who.

In fact, Xiao’s memory of his childhood is very clouded as his leaders told him new things about his past, contradicting one another and changing things. It was very confusing for him.

When he was a child, Xiao went through periods where he would live like an emperor then suddenly spiral down into poverty.

That being said, Xiao was a child for a very short period of time. He was one of the only major civilizations in his area, so he was very much alone.

Xiao was constantly picked on from pastoral nomads from the north and for a time, he lived with 2P!Mongolia. 

In general, Xiao’s childhood was not a very good one.

2P!Russia

Viktor’s mother is 2P!Kievan Rus.

Like Xiao, he was picked on from pastoral nomads and early northern countries. When he was very young, Viktor was kidnapped by 2P!Mongolia, who demanded money from him.

For the most part, Viktor was isolated in his earlier years, only really friendly with his sisters.

When he was young, Viktor was very nervous and meek, but that changed as he grew older.

2P!EgyptAtum probably wouldn’t have a career. He wouldn’t take the time or money to pursue a higher education, so he’d most likely just be lazy and sit at home. Acesto would push him to get a job and after a lot of complaining and whining, Atum would work small gigs pulling weeds, delivering newspapers, taking out the trash, and cleaning office buildings.

2P!GreeceAcesto would work in a bank. The meticulous, analytical work suits him and he’d get paid well for it. He could most likely be the Vice President of a credit union, pulling the strings, but not having full control. He would enjoy the sophisticated aura of the job and the formality in his co-workers. In their relationship, Acesto would make the most money, but he’d get annoyed if Atum didn’t at least try to make some money as well.

2P!Egypt (Atum): Lucius would most likely not like Atum very much. Atum would be hostile to him in the first place, so he’d reply with the same. Nonetheless, as the two got to know each other better, they’d most likely get along a little bit better. Lucius would respect Atum’s quietness and the two would most likely gloat over victories and feed off of each other’s egos. Lucius would also be impressed that Atum won a war against Luciano. In the end, the two would get along.

2P!Ancient Egypt (Nefertari)

2P!Italy (Luciano): Luciano would most likely flirt with Nefertari the first time they met, so not a good start. However, Nefertari would see a lot of Lucius in him and would try to be a mother for him. Like with her own son, she’d try to show her affection and emotions but be unable to effectively do so. In general though, Luciano would be sour about Nefertari trying to be a parent or grandparent. 2P!S.Italy (Flavio): At first, Nefertari would find Flavio’s personality off putting. She’d find his materialistic, loud disposition annoying. Nefertari wouldn’t be mean to him, but she’d avoid him. However, once she realized Flavio was much more cunning than he let on, she’d grow a respect for him and try to talk with him. Nonetheless, she wouldn’t be very material.2P!Seborga (Marco): Marco would barely even look at Nefertari. He doesn’t get involved with Lucius’s life so he wouldn’t care. Nefertari would barely ever see the reclusive little emo boy, but she’d be curious about him in general. She’d try to talk to him, but only get sarcasm and snappy replies.
