I have no problem with women, or men, who decide to be at home parents. Who decide to forego working for caring for their kids.

I have a problem with the ones who look lowly on those parents who decide (or need) to work after having kids. 

My mother worked hard because she had to, not because she wanted to. It doesn’t mean our relationship is less, it doesn’t mean my childhood was harder. It just means she did what she had to to take care of herself, but still provided me with the love I needed.

No job is less than another.

I think Agatha cursed the villagers too, because they didn’t have love in their hearts either. Just look at how they treated her and then Belle and her father. does anyone else get a stupid amount of satisfaction from telling customers no???

like last week some guy at the window stuck a mcdonalds cup in my face and was like can you throw this away???

and I just said no, no apology, just a grossed out look and “I can’t take trash through the drive thru”

and the dumbfounded look on his face gave me some sick satisfaction

When a customer starts their complaint about the policies we’ve had since we opened with “I’ve been coming here for years” I am so happy when I get to tell them they’ve been in place for longer than they’ve been a customer.

If you’ve really been coming here for years, you should know better.

Day 18

Frankly, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a fully grown man take the giant carton of vanilla International Delight coffee creamer and chug it while he’s waiting for you to finish ringing up the rest of his items.

I’ve seen the same thing - but the man was simply walking around a mall, rocking a wife beater and a wicked mullet.

I wish people understood this concept.

I’ve had people leave nails, broken bottles, and other sharp objects behind my tires, and my car blocked in my a string of buggies, because they see me parking in an accessible spot and not using a walking aid. I’ve also been asked “where’s the cripple” by people shouting from their car as they wait in a fire zone. 

They can’t tell about the pain inside my chest, or the struggle to breathe.

They can’t see the scars all over my body from the countless procedures and surgeries. The fear I have every single day that everything I do to take care of myself may be in vain.

They can’t see that there are days I force myself to not park there, so I can leave that spot open because it’s been a good day, and I know I won’t struggle.

It’s like a drug. It really is.

When I worked at an ice cream shop in my younger years, the kill switch for people who took buggies from the Zellers was right in front of my store. Essentially, there was a spot where the wheels would lock up after a certain distance (to prevent them to be stolen). The person pushing the buggy would be jerked forward and their buggy would be stuck there until someone came after the mall closed to collect the buggies.

The joy I had from being people get jerked forward, and then their face, as they complain to me that their buggy isn’t working, when I show them the giant red sign saying “do not leave store with buggy” and “buggy wheels lock when removed from store”
