“ i thought you’d like some company, ” says viktor, @potpourris, slipping into the labratory, much to the ever attentive caitlyn's surprise.

“ viktor! i... ” hands clamber to stack the sprawled papers toner at the desk. a faulty misstep whilst scrambling out of the laboratory’s lonesome wooden chair, has the chair’s leg tripping with a heavy thunk and an ear aching screech raking the floor. hip hits the table in the collateral where a wrench balancing on the edge clatters to the ground.

while sneaking out and around is part of caitlyn’s repertoire, a rebellion-sort her parents fail to understand, deception is not. this laboratory is not something she is overly familiar with, unlike that of her parents’ workshop / jayce’s old funded lab; this is the academy’s, professional and grandeur, though minimal and enough to have everything the inventors needed. perhaps it’s why she’s more jittery than usual — simply afraid to be caught... seldom ever taken down, watched jayce once or twice in her off time but only when he’s present. doesn't know viktor all too well despite seeing him then too, simply knew him as jayce's lab partner and an associate to the council.

“ i didn’t hear you come in. i expected jayce to be here... ” she bends to her knees and picks the tool off the ground, rubs along its edges and curves. back and forth. subconsciously refuses set it back dowm. “ this invention. it’s quite fascinating... what is it meant to do exactly? ”
