so i have socorro's ex ( ? ) on his page, his current occasional hookup is on there as well, and i was considering putting someone else who is very important in that area of his life on there, too - but while doing so i realize one very important thing: they're all so hot & he should be much more grateful.

to be entirely fair ... the assertion seemed true. everything pointed toward her being a highly distracting person in more ways than one: the frankly unnecessary height, the look on her face, the luridly pink bubblegum peeking between her lips, stretching, popping ... anyone would be distracted by that.

the statement itself had been close enough to a complaint in rhyan's eyes - but whatever. fuck it. literally who even gave a shit? she'd been called worse for less ; or, rather, she'd had far less noticeable things pointed out about herself in far more public and embarrassing spaces -- so a little comment made within the safety and privacy of a one on one conversation wouldn't be the thing to send her running to the bathroom with tears in her eyes. ( though the theatrics of it all would have been highly silly and entertaining. maybe she should have gone for it, leaned into the drama just as a little treat. )

her answer to the other would be a shrug and a nod ; a sign that previous words were now all but forgotten and the current task was in focus so yes, of course, she could take a look at something. rhyan was used to this part. people coming in with this or that, asking questions about what more often than not turned out to be a somewhat creepy looking airport souvenir ━━ but every now and then luck would be in the air and something worthwhile would pop its way out of a strangers pocket.

but rule #1 remained the same: if you don't know where it came from, don't touch it.

" a blessing? a curse? a monkey-paw gift from the gods that, at the end of the day, is a little of both? no, no, and definitely not. rhyan was known to be distracting, but only for reasons that were highly obvious and impossible too ignore: distractingly tall, and not entirely comfortable in the way she moved that lanky body of hers. distractingly smarmy, it was just a side effect of having grown up in the sales trade. distractingly dry ( ha ) , because even she knew how she came across, and relying on deadpan humor was the easiest way she'd found to deal with ... all of it.
