❂ – It’s incredibly hot outside and my muse is trying to persuade yours to go swimming together.
“It’s merely May, do you really think it’s the time for such a thing?” Seren retorts, frustration clouding her brow – it’s a battle she’s lost before it even truly started, and she’s well aware of it, but she’s not known for giving in to other people’s wishes easily, and today won’t be the day for that reputation to change. She’s swum in colder waters, earlier in the year, but she counts on the fact that Youngji doesn’t know that. But doesn’t she really? She’s certain she’s told her tales of her childhood… she may have mentioned that at some point.
Either way, the other girl is not fazed and, instead of commenting on Seren’s argument, she merely points to Myfanwy, who’s perked up at the simple hearing of the word ‘swimming’ – her big blue eyes are locked on Seren’s features, pleading just as much as Youngji’s are. “Don’t you think you owe Myfanwy the chance to cool down a little?” It’s true, the surge of heat that has taken over Seoul has Seren worried, the Husky’s coat is so thick, so warm that she’s not certain she’ll take it well.
But even so… she doesn’t quite feel like swimming. Not today. But she’s always going to put her puppy’s well-being over her whims, so, without even gracing the other girl with a reply, she picks herself off from the couch, sighing as dramatically as she could. “Get up then, both of you puppies! The beach’s waiting for us.”
“Yes, yes it is.” Youngji is a firm believer that it’s never wrong to go to the beach (regardless of the weather conditions and time of year). Come on, Seren, she seems to plead with her gaze, innocent doe eyes glancing up at the other once. Youngji would normally resort to shamelessly acting cute to obtain her wishes. It’s pretty devious but it works, at least, sometimes. She hasn’t tried the puppy dog pout on Seren to see its effectiveness yet, however she hopes it’s successful at least once in this lifetime.
It’s a miracle (or perhaps the work of divine intervention) when she hears a response that sounded a lot like approval. Youngji bolts up from her seat in an instant, billowy brown locks bouncing up as she danced around in joy. “Seriously! Oh gosh, oh gosh, Let’s goooo” her lilting voice fades into the distance when she scampers to grab as much stuff as she could into a large tote. Swimsuits, towels, a run-down frisbee, and even a boatload (well maybe not boat) of snacks for them. “Which beach are we going to? Taking your car or mine? Ah, how long do you think it’ll be to get there?” words spill from her lips in a never ending dance, all in sheer eagerness. In fact, Youngji’s not known to be able to shut her mouth once she’s this excited.
Youngji already had her keys in that huge bag of hers anyway, so she offers to drive this time around. It was her idea to go out swimming after all. “Would you like to pick up some stuff on the way?” she asks, unlocking the doors with a press of a button.
