Star Wars: Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi (1983)
just something to take the edge off
Stone: Commander Wolffe? Wolffe: Speaking. Stone: I don't mean to bother you... Wolffe: Don't. While I'm planetside, I'm more than happy to help out the boys in red. Stone: Thank you, sir...It's Fox... Wolffe: Does he need a little help falling asleep? Help from my right hook, I mean. Stone, chuckling: No. One of your men helped him out by lending him his armor, and we picked him up for acting drunk and disorderly. Wolffe: So he decided to act like a di'kut as one of my men... Stone: He only did it so he could avoid a certain Jedi... Wolffe: I know he's not a fan of Jedi-- Stone: This one wants to sleep with him. Wolffe: Give me a name. Stone: Don't worry about him. He usually handles him himself. Wolffe: So what do you need me for? To pick up the armor? Stone: To pick up Fox. We believe the Jedi may have noticed it was him and could be waiting outside, so we want to sell him on the idea by having you pick him up as your trooper. Wolffe: I'll do it. Stone: Thank you. Wolffe: So I can see who this Jedi is. Stone, sighing: You can see Fox handle him himself if he's out there...
Absolutely love how Alpha 17 is during the time on call with Cody who's still a part of the empire. Especially when he's technically not part of the empire at all and is really just trying to get through to his kid.
I know this was written weeks ago but I'm curious to how everyone would react to figuring out Cody went AWOL since as far as we know he was labeled as such in canon. Like do you think 17 and the others would try to find him or just be glad Cody ain't part of the empire anymore.
[ Wasn't Cody killed on Kamino while wallowing in his misery as a trainer of non clone troopers? Was there a retcon? Can they retcon Fox's fate too? ]
Wolffe: ANSWER MY KARKING CALL! Alpha-17, leaning away from his holo: I did? Wolffe: Did you hear!? Alpha-17: Did I hear what? Fox, leaning into view from his bedroom doorway: Did Rex finally lose his virginity? Rex, bowling Wolffe over: CODY WENT AWOL! Fox, scrambling closer: AWOL? Like missing AWOL or AWOL AWOL? Wolffe, shoving Rex out of the way: This is Cody we're talking about! Fox: AWOL AWOL then! Rex, climbing over Wolffe again: We have to find him! Wolffe, grunting as he fights his way back into the forefront: Rex is right. We have our suspicions-- Alpha-17, speaking barely above a whisper past his shock: I know where he is... Fox, turning bodily to look at Alpha-17: You do? Wolffe & Rex, almost cheek-to-cheek to be center: YOU DO!? Alpha-17: I told him if he ever needed to get away-- Gregor, leaning into view: The same safe house you told me to go to if these two ever overwhelmed me? We're already planning our trip. Alpha-17: Yes... Fox: Wait...Which safe house--? Fox and Alpha-17 turn to the sound of the security lock disengaging.
Fun thought! You know how you can train cats and dogs to press buttons with words to communicate what the WANT? Tooka troopers would be so DO much better at that? Cause they understand actual basic.
AND they have recordings of their (and Jango's, if the MUST) voices from their helmets! So like?
*adorable tooka in a pixie costume scampers up to you* "we. Have! Your? CHILDREN." *you realize you are surrounded by a hit squad of tooka troopers, in festive lil outfits*
Just? *you watch as a tooka steals National Secrets* "No. One. Will? Ever. Believe! You." *they somehow make the "I'm watching you" motion with their itty bitty lil paws*
Communications? Reestablished, generals! And they sound like a horrifying stitched together ransom note! No idea why that unnerves so many senators, honest!
Ponds missed his General. Not all Generals.
I’ve had tbis in my head everytime I’ve read this ask
Fox, glaring at the yellow paint streaked over Thorn's armor: Which one? Thorn, sighing: 212th, I think? Fox, dragging Cody via headlock into Thorn's office half an hour later: Do you see that? Cody, squinting at the yellow-painted commander: Yes? Fox: That's mine. Cody: I--HGK!!! Fox, while flexing around his neck: I don't care if you didn't do it. THAT. IS. MINE. GET YOUR OWN FOREVER SHINY. Cody, slapping Fox's arm to "tap out": OK!

Alpha-17 and Commander Fox, modeled from JC Leyendecker’s Thanksgiving 1928 illustration. I did intend to use it as a painting study to better emulate Leyendecker’s style but today is not that day.
Also I. Well. I wish the clones wore pants, or pants with the kama. Death to the plastoid codpiece/diaper.
Week ?? “Look Obi wan, I made a tiny droid!”
