Task twelve : Using a dictionary, discover 5 words that were previously unfamiliar to you write them down, with definitions and then use them appropriately within conversations.
My five words were robust, fortitude, gargantuan, bothy, postulate.
Task Eleven - Follow recipes to create a three-course meal you have not cooked before, record the process. I created a three course meal and then got my friends to test it out because my parents weren't too keen.
1977 - Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way (HQ) (by TheGreatestRockSongs)
1988 - Salt-N-Pepa - Push It (by SaltNPepaVEVO)
1999- Lou Bega - Mambo No 5 (by TheMato91)
2003 - Señorita by Justin Timberlake (by justintimberlakeVEVO)
Task Ten Listen to music from 5 different decades.
2013 - Roar by Katy Perry
Some more pictures!! Loved doing the stencils. Can't go to a museum and not draw or dress up!.
Task 6 - Visit a gallery/museum.
For my museum trip I wasn't able to go to London so I went somewhere more local the Tide and Time museum in Great Yarmouth. I found it quite interesting because my ancestors where from Great Yarmouth and while we went round the museum my nan told me all about my family's past. I liked the museum because I love all things nautical!.
This was my version of the Carli Davidson images. After standing in the rain for an hour, 14 cups of water and half a packet of ham I got these images. It was a lot harder to make him shake then I thought it would be.
This was the famous photos I wanted to try and recreate (Carli Davidson's shake images). I thought about doing a piece with people but it was hard to get ahold of my friends because they are all moving and going off to uni so it was easier to do it with my dog. It would have looked better on a plain background but my mum wouldn't have appreciated a wet dog shaking all around the house so I had to do it in the garden. (His natural habitat).
Task Eight - From a design perspective, show 3 things you love and 3 things you hate and tell us why.
These are the things I hate.
I hate things that are so abstract that you have no idea what it is or where the artist came up with the description under it. I think some abstract things are great, so interesting to look at and work out but there are the odd few that you just think what the hell are you!!
I really dislike spray painting and graffiti. I must admit some images that people spray paint can be amazing but the stupid tags and bubble writing it really grates on me.
From an art perspective I couldn’t think of anything else I really disliked so I thought I would just name something I hate. I hate needles more than spiders but I couldn’t even get the pictures of the Internet so spiders it is. I have no idea why I hate them I just do. Needles and spiders are my kryptonite.
Task 8 - From a design perspective, show 3 things you love and 3 things you hate and tell us why.
These are the three things I love.
I love illustrations for children’s books because they just make you feel like a kid again and they make the book so much more interesting than just reading page after page of text. These are examples by Oliver Jeffers.
I love using text and words to create an image. I think that it is gives a different texture to the picture. Also from far away the image would look normal but then as you get close you can see all the different words.
I love using texture in work and layering up materials. For me in particular I love to feel the brush strokes on a painting or the pieces of clay that has been carved out of a sculpture it is another way of seeing the artwork. For blind people this is the only way they can see the piece of art so creating work that feel interesting as well as look great benefits everyone.
Task Seven : Gather a collection and document it.
My collection is of coins. Ever since I was a baby every birthday I would get a set of coins from my god mother. This is a collection that was started for me but ever since then whenever I have gone on holiday I have come back with a new and interesting coin. I also like to look at the packaging and how over the years they have changed. Some of them are much posher than others. For the last two years they have come in special boxes and open like a book where as my first ever set they used paper for.
I thought about how interesting my dog is. To start with he is a Shar Pei and you don't see many of them about. He is so lovely but a bit of a hand full. Also he is a strange dog in the sense that he doesn't like a lot of things. He hates cars, rain, dust bins, washing machines, dogs, mud, etc. These are things other dogs love or don't care about but not him so I thought that would be the main story in the poem the things he hates.
Read poems on dog. Best dog poems. poem about dogs.
After looking at examples of poems and looking at how to write a poem I had to think of a subject to write about. After staring out my window for about 30 minutes I was starting to get bored! I had nothing. Then my dog came in my room and jumped on the bed to also look out the window! I turned and looked at him and thought DODGER you genius you will be what I write about. So I started to look at different dog poems.
