[[You are my whiskey]]

Jae was drunk, which explained a lot about the situation. Most of their intimate moments came when one of them were under some sort of influence. Whether it be alcohol, drugs, or just the adrenaline high Darcy would get after burning himself. He couldn’t could the number of times he held a lighter to his thigh, just long enough to hurt and pulled it away. It gave him this rush, a rush that he was starting to get from Jae. Especially now when the taller man’s hands were on his back, and his breath was washing over his face. Their noses were brushing together as the other spoke, and the words tugged Darcy’s expression down. He wasn’t sure how to respond. “Let’s not…” he whispered, pressing a heated kiss to his lover’s lip, shutting him up. His tongue, hesitant at first dove passed the others, tasting the whiskey on his teeth. He kissed him until he was breathless, having to gasp, flushed and stammering, “I love you…I…I don’t say that a lot. I do though. I love you more than I love myself. You’re…You’re kerosene. The clarity I need…” he sighs, feeling utterly stupid, “I don’t know. Just don’t ask me that, because then I start questioning why you’d ever care for some street rat like me.”
Jae had almost started to protest, a large part of him needed to know, needed to know why he was worthy of someone like Darcy, who’s intensity burned brighter than anything he’d ever known, but if there was one thing that could shut him up no matter what, it was Darcy’s lips. He kissed him back, a sudden hunger flickering over his dark gaze. His fingers found the nape of the other man’s neck, gingerly twisting the delicate hair there around his fingers as their lips crashed together passionately. Contrast, everything with them was contrast. Hard kisses and gentle touches, Cold and warm, Broken spirits with healing hearts. Chaos that made sense and calmed them both. He paused at Darcy’s words, they weren’t words he heard often but when he did it seemed to breath life back into him, to make his heart beat and prove to him that he wasn’t made of marble, that he was alive. Hearing the shorter male say that was better than any amount of alcohol, any drug, and certainly any thing, that he’d ever have. “You—you’re everything I need,” he mumbled with baited breath, hardly daring to exhale. “I love you. Fuck I love you so much Darcy,” he squeezed his eyes shut against the emotions that wanted so desperately to take his feet out from under him.”you’re everything I crave…you’re so real, so present…so just…so much,” he shook his head, finally daring to open his eyes to gaze up at the other.”I need you.”
