I managed to limp to the lighthouse despite the heavy bleeding in my leg and side and pushed the door open before falling inside. The lighthouse was quiet, eerily quiet, so that must mean that Icarus wasn’t back yet. I opened up a can of stew from the packs and the rest of the bread and a bottle of water. I knew he wouldn’t mind me eating without him. Time was ticking on and the day was getting on and a paralysing fear started to come over me. I kept myself busy by ruffling through what I’d taken from Juliet and Gunnar. Weapons, there were so many weapons and a small vial of what seemed to be tracker jacker venom. I tipped the arrows from Juliet’s pack with them and smiled at my intuition. It was something that Icarus would surely do. It never occurred to me that he might not come back, he was so strong, so wise, he knew how to look after himself and when the fallen rolled in and I saw Samara’s name followed by Icarus, the worst was confirmed.

So I Guess This Is Goodbye | OS
"Instead, your trackers will be alerted to explode if you are within 100 feet of your allies." I looked over to Icarus and he looked at me and for a few seconds, we didn't say anything for a couple of seconds and it felt as though the silence dragged on for hours. We were going to have to split up, and it felt like the last time we would ever see each other again. I held onto his hand for a second before standing up and wrapping my arms around him. I was scared for him more than I was scared for myself.
Location In Arena: Just outside the lighthouse.
Allies: Icarus
Injuries: N/A
Pack/Weapons/Items: 1/2 loaf of bread, 2 bottles of water, 1 pack beef jerky, 6 throwing stars, nunchuku, tape measure, wrench, some nails, and night vision goggles

By the Sea, Bring Along Your Chopper! || Alexus
I listened carefull to the sounds of the Game Makers booming across the Arena, it appeared that they were already bored of seeing people hiding out in the various rooms that we had to play in.
I looked down at Alex sleeping and smiled a little, knowing that we had to get out of there soon but I didn’t have the heart to wake her, she looked innocent and angelic as she slept. Scooping an arm under her neck and another under her knees, I carried her gently outside, peeking out of the door before I stepped out into the cold air.
"Alex" I whispered, once we were outside and a safe distance away from our former hideout. "Alex wake up" I said again a little louder, laying her down on the grass so that I could defend us if I needed to.
With my sword in one hand and my shield in the other, I stood over my love, waiting for her to wake from her slumber.
I fell asleep relatively easy last and when I woke up, on the ground outside of the lighthouse I knew that something was wrong. I rubbed my eyes and looked up at Icarus who had his rapier and shield at the ready. How cute. I sat up and rubbed my eyes a little trying to wake myself a bit more and then stood up beside Icarus.
"I take it the lighthouse is a danger zone then?" he nodded and I sighed, I was enjoying the lighthouse, but then again I didn't want to blow up. I took the nunchuku out of my bag and a few of the throwing stars before taking Icarus' hand. "What else are danger zones?"

"Hey" I say, cradling Alex’s chin and bringing it up so that her eyes met mine again. "Let’s not think about that, I can’t bare thinking about losing you so soon after I’ve found you, you know that if either of us loses the other then we’ll find each other again, it’s the way that the world works, okay?" I ask before closing the gap and giving her a soft kiss.
"I plan on getting you home, I don’t have anything there, anything at all. The Hob will go on without me and I’m not going to be missed by many people except Iago and Ieva but they have a family. All that I have now is you, and your life is more important to me than my own, I’d give it gladly if it even meant for a minute you had a chance of going home."
Of course he wanted me to go home, he was just the perfect gentlemen like that. "You have everything to live for, Iago and Ieva love you and I don't want you to do that for me because I want you to go home, for your dreams to come true as well." I wasn't just going to let him die for me, no way in hell was I just going to accept that.
"Want to head back down?" he nodded .
We sat in the lighthouse for the next few hours mainly just talking about home, our families and making jokes, having fun. I was going to miss this, I finally had someone who I can tell everything to. As the sky grew darker and the sound of a cannon was yet to fire, we huddled into the little bed together and fell asleep lucky to have spent another day together.

I push open the door after I give Alex a look and blow her a kiss, with my rapier out I take to the room where the giant lens of the lighthouse still spins but no light shines through it, I wondered whether there was an entrance into the motor room below ground like there was in other lighthouses or if it was barred before the games began.
Glancing out over the arena, the first thing that I see is the billowing smoke from where we’d come from, someone had gone up in flames in the fight inside of Cell Block A and I was glad that we’d gotten out of there, with a quick look to the right, I saw two figures walking along the beach, I couldn’t tell who they were from this distance but the distinctive orange jumpsuit was visible even from this distance.
The door to the small walkway was closed but I could see out through the glass if anyone decided that they would approach, I decided that it wouldn’t be fair for me to sit out her alone and enjoy the view of the sea crashing against the cliffs so I poked my head back through and smiled at Alex.
"Coast’s clear, come outside" I whisper, holding out my hand for her to take as I sat with my back to the glass, feeling the vibration of the lens of the lighthouse against it as it spun perpetually around. "It’s beautiful up here, I wonder how far away we are from land"
I keep looking back to see if anything or anyone was following us but nothing as coming, I heard no sound, no sign of other people being here so I relaxed as much as I could do. I took Icarus' hand and climbed through the door to catch the view he was looking at.
I was a little alarmed at the state of Cell Block A, smoke billowed out of it and I was a hundred percent sure it wasn't safe enough to go inside ever again. Two people were walking on the beach, one bright orange suit next to a blue one. I wondered who they were but as long as they were walking far away from us, I didn't care.
"It's an Arena... synthetic. Unless they've done it differently this year, I don't think there's anything beyond the sea." We stood in silence for a little looking at the ocean before I finally spoke again and rested my head on his shoulder. "What am I going to do if I lose you?"
Shine Brighter || Alexus
"I just like looking into your eyes, they’re beautiful" I smile again and take a bite of my bread, chewing it slowly and enjoying it for all that it’s worth. "It makes me feel that little bit more connected to you when I do, like I’m seeing you all over again, all the innocence and beauty and serenity"
I allow Alex to take the lead as we go up to the roof again and I found myself wondering whether she’d understand that I was constantly going to watch my back while we were in the arena. I knew how sneaky people could be and any advantage was a bonus.
"Okay, we can just leave the door closed but when you open the door to the roof, be careful that there’s nobody around to spot us okay?" I ask with a smile, stopping at the door. "Would you like me to go first?"
"Oh stop it..." I didn't really know what to say to that, he was so kind and sweet and he made me feel so worthwhile and precious. It made me wonder why I hadn't ventured into The Hob before, I might have caught his eye before.
I opened the door again and turned to face Icarus, he was the one who knew how to assess a situation like this so I thought it'd be better if he took the lead. "I can keep watch to make sure no one has come in and followed us and you can go in first if you like"
Shine Brighter || Alexus
I hand’t heard anything of the fallen and wondered whether it had been displayed yet, we would miss it inside either way while we were inside.
"I think that if we can find a piece of wood or something then we can trap the door and then go up to the light again and look out for what’s going on in the Arena, use the height to our advantage" I let out a laugh at the thought of jam and lean in to kiss Alex on the cheek. "Trust you to think of jam love, maybe we’ll be lucky enough to find some, but I’m happy for this bread and your company" I smile, looking into her eyes again.
"If we can’t trap the doors then we’ll just have to be careful the nobody gets the jump on us while we’re up on the roof"
I just loved jam so much. I rip a piece of bread off the loaf and start to chew it slowly and listen to Icarus' idea which I was totally okay with. I bashfully turned my head down "Why do you keep doing that... like... you look into my eyes like you've just found something" I don't think I'll ever get used to the way he looks at me.
"I'm sure we'll be fine with just closing the door. You know you're so jumpy all the time chill out a little" I joked before climbing the stairs yet again.

It appeared that we’d made it though the rest of the night and into the next day without any interuptions except for the occasional cooing of the roosting pidgeons or the loud click as the light went off for the day, but we were happy in out little lighthouse, both of us sleeping while the other watched. I opened my eyes and woke up from the dreamless sleep before turning to kiss the top of Alex’s head.
"Morning angel" I whispered to her before swinging my legs off the little bunk and rummaging around in my pack for my water that I took a quick sip of. "Nothing to report yet?" I smile at her as I slide onto the floor next to her, putting my hand in hers where it belonged, my sword resting on the other side of me.
"What’s the plan then? Stay here or move on? I think I’ve come up with an idea if we’re going to stay"
Three cannons had fired, one of them wasn't for Icarus, obviously not me, so I didn't really care who they were for, unless it was Samara, but she was strong, it wouldn't be her. I rubbed my eyes and yawned a little when I woke up, I didn't really want to move on yet, the lighthouse wasn't a danger zone so we were safe here.
"I think we should stay for a bit. What idea have you got?" I was curious, he was such an intelligent, strategic thing. I opened my bottle of water and take out the bread for us to eat. "Don't you just wish we had some jam?"
