There’s been a good bit happening the last bit, so thought it was fair to let you all know to not leave it all to just radio silence
Skipping whatever else since it likely wouldn’t affect working on the blog so much as just being slower- there’s something that’s come up that’s affected our vision, energy ability to focus that treatment for has taken a lot out of us for. We’ll see how things are next Tuesday and there won’t be another of these if so but we will get back to working if we can take it easier
So unfortunately this is a “please wait a little longer” type update, but don’t want it to be just gloom. If we could do just text based posts, maybe we would but we’ve been so long because when we get back, you can expect not just a response to an ask the next after, but an unprompted illustration first ( to follow continuation, you’ll see ) and something nice for a new pinned! ( latter likely posted a bit earlier than the others )

Okay before anything this does not mean the blog is being abandoned or deleted much apologies it’s been this long though. And I’ve been thinking I should do updates through a tag noting how long the last 1 ended up altogether
So… with quite a bit of physical things coming up I’m not sure if I mentioned or not has fully going away, the good news is right now its only just a bit of physical weirdness, something messing with my eye a bit that I don’t think it’s too bad, but I and any mods of this blog have AuDHD sensory sensitivity. For us, this means a the eye thing is kind of driving me up the wall a bit so I have to be careful
But more good news is that the appointment for that is in about 4 days ( EST ). And I feel well enough to work on some things, albeit more chaotically/inconsistantly/slowly
Hopefully by that time if I’m not done, I can work a lot faster on everything. I can’t promise anyone back right away but I can promise the vision right now does not include deleting or abandoning the blog, in fact I’ve met some people and looked around the oddity roleplay community and thought of some people I’d like to interact with ahead of time!
For anyone still watching/looking out for us ( read: posting for the blog ). Thank you. Your patience and care means a lot to me, I hope to be back soon and I’ll be sure to update sooner if anything else does come up that would throw anything more out of the water- I’ve accounted for everything here though without going into too much detail that I can think of so well,

Starting a habit of this section for if anyone wants to reblog. But it’s more important this time because I have something to say this time
1. I’m taking inspiration from someone whose work has been awing me. I’m taking the chance from this point on to make this the one noncannon section aside from certain tags- this blog has been successful so far yet small. I want to be able to share to more people. But anything else but reach tags and mod sign-offs? Character comments. We will put anything we need here that isn’t part of the story
2. Thank you. Thank you so so so so much for everyone who’s been here so far. Liked, reblogged, commented, even just showed you’re invested elsewhere. This blog started as a few things. First- a chance for something to do to help pass the time when things seem to drag on. Second- something for fun and for ourselves for fun and to tell a story in a different way than what we’re used to, what we planned. And Third- something for you all. Something to enjoy to pass the time, watch and enjoy, maybe cherish for some. We started this in large part too because while Sonic Oddities have been our ongoing hyperfixation, Hog The Tenrec as a story and its potential has captivated so much that it tends to steal attention so so easily from the rest of the hyperfixation ( kind of ironic hah )- so no stretch to say I’m glad to bring the Hog content some may have been missing as much as we have
But 3. I’ve worked so hard for this blog so far. Set aside today for what I could to work on it. Sure I haven’t done much in terms of posts but I have worked days and hours on each artwork, the writing, making sure things felt right. I hope this is enough to tide you all over for now. I’m not quitting, not this early and hopefully never, but I need a bit of time. For a few reasons, including that the next part I’ll need some references I haven’t made yet. This blog could really use an updated pinned- won’t be redoing it entirely but when the next post is sent expect something more quick and organized, and I have a stacked list of other things I need to get to now which I would like to. Including a few that are very relevant to this blog and where the story is going. A few that aren’t but will help prevent future roadblocks. So posts will be paused till the first is done, and slow for the rest for a bit. But once again thank you so so so much. I hope you all have a good timezone/time of day wherever you are. Take care. Sorry that took forever. Not just to the asker but to people who we promised this a lot sooner. Things kept coming up. Mostly health things. We haven’t stopped working though. Hope it was worth the wait
Asks are still open but will likely be slow so we can put good time into them. Both writing and drawing
Okay, so that… didn’t go as planned. Not upset that much, just hope you all understand. It’s going to be a bit more. But not without good reason no. No it’s because despite taking breaks only when really needed and having the drive and energy it’s still not going to be on time. Last time was up till 4 in part because of trying to work on it
Promise to go to sleep sooner and keep working with more time and release it hopefully sometime in the proper day! ( and if not before going to sleep for sure ) A good bit done the 1 thing. There’s 3 big things to do and we’re working actually in hindsight, In reverse order of easiest. So the hardest part is almost done but tomorrow… we now have an ask and no doubt will be able to lock in again tomorrow
So just give some time and I’ll try my best to make it worth your while. After all this is done out of both my own passion and wanting to make something worthy of your time. Thank you. Make sure whatever you’re working on you take good breaks too
