maomao is my favorite "not like other girls" style protagonist bc for one shes a girls girl through and through. to the bone. and two she's just a weird little freak. absolute lunatic. they have the whole "omg she's actually beautiful and everyone falls for her when she's all made up" trope but the punchline is that she does not fucking want to look like that. she actively puts dirt on her face every day bc she does not want to be perceived as attractive (mostly out of fear of being used for sex work though at the same time she has the utmost respect for women who do sex work like she grew up in a brothel those are her sisters). she's Sherlock level smart and solves every mystery so fast but goes "well thats none of my business. anyway back to testing poisons on myself" she has the 2nd most powerful guy in the nation head over heels in love with her and is like "man this guy is weird around me what's his deal. I guess he's fine though because he gives me rare medicines and has no dick" fucking ICON i love her. also she once slapped someone so hard they fell on the floor. 10/10

Like the blush around their eyes, I'm starting to wonder if the blue eye contacts have something to do with what Sopro is doing to them, or are they just something the members wanted to wear? Is is unrelated or on purpose? Thoughts?

Okay. While Seonghwa, San, and Yeosang's are the hardest to see due to the lighting, I DO think they're wearing blue contacts.

Yunho, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho's eyes are very clearly blue.

And Hongjoong, the only one in the trailer who seems to be fighting Sopro's influence?

Brown eyes.

Yeah, that's why I wasn't sure if it was just....for styling reasons like changing their hair color, or if it was intentional for the Lore. They've worn eye contacts so many times that I don't really clock it as anything but aesthetics.

But seeing all of them have blue eyes EXCEPT Hongjoong clinched it for me. That feels way too intentional to me.

It stands out to me the same way Wooyoug having red hair and blue eyes in both Adrenaline and Halazia did. Feels intentional.

found this a couple days ago bc it made me side eye a bit with Charon:

Here's the thing though, because of the bluebird, I associate blue in the lore with the color of Hope. And we know that Sopro is connected to the bluebird, so it feels very intentionally done.

So if their eyes are blue and blue means hope, maybe that means they're not completely lost?

EDIT: research just told me bluebirds are a connection to the spirit world and afterlife.

Oh.

The bluebird being so connected to Yeosang, and Yeosang's possible role as a psychopomp of some kind...and blue-gray eyes connecting to Charon....

Rewatching and realized that during Sign of the Times, we all hear her singing the lyrics and contextualize it with the knowledge that Grace is sent to space. Just stop your crying, have the time of your life; we can meet again somewhere, somewhere far away from here. But while I'm sure Eva knows in the back of her mind that Grace could be sent to space, it's a far off enough possibility that she wouldn't be thinking about it. If we really want to hear it as *her* in that moment, I think she was thinking more about her being sent to prison for the rest of her life after launch and Grace going on without her. Remember everything will be alright. We can meet again somewhere. Somewhere far away from here.
