allison: Why would someone cancel on you, wtf? I can confirm that you look hot, not that you need that confirmation. I’m just resting from nursing school... I could use a break, to be honest. Want to hang out?

“Now that it’s officially September, I’m going to need the weather to cool down so I can start wearing sweaters every day.” River fanned herself as she sat down with a dramatic plop. “Also I’ve started thinking about what I want to dress up as for Halloween.” She pulled out a notebook where she had started doodling costumes in her downtime at the shop “Whaddya think? I could be Queen Frostine…or Princess Lolly, y’know from CandyLand?” She laughed softly.

“I love when the leaves start changing colors... so pretty,” Allison mused with a smile. “And I just need the weather to cool down for my sanity. The Georgia heat is intolerable.” She laughed. “And yes... with Fall comes Halloween, one of my favorite holidays. Oh, CandyLand! Yeah, I remember that. I used to play with my friends and my little brother. Queen Frostine, definitely. I love the blue. I’ll probably go with something scary-sexy.”

Eve: Oh that's right I forgot schools are starting back up...I guess that means Cuppa Joes will be busier now.

Allison: Yeah, it's been going pretty good so far though! I had clinicals today which was pretty amazing. What's new with you?

okay i know i still owe some replies but i haven’t really had much inspiration. i had some school and work changes that have kind of made me sad and stressed out, and i’ve made a few posts requesting plots lately but i only get a couple replies. 🖤 Please, if you want to plot with me please let me know. I really want more connections.

“Oh she will be. She loves animals so much. And the two animals I have at home already absolutely adore Emma. My golden retriever is about the same age as her, so they’ll be able to grow up together.” Tj smiled as he interacted with the kittens surrounding them. One in particular, was taking a liking to him. “Hey, don’t tempt me. Otherwise I’ll end up with more than ten animals running around my house.” Tj only took his attention off the kittens when he felt Allison grab his hand. He got up and followed her out of the room, a light chuckle leaving his lips because he knew exactly why she was in a rush to get out of there. “Did you almost give into your temptations just now?” he teased, referring to adopting another kitten. “How about we go play with a few of the puppies now?” he suggested, leading her towards the dogs.

Allison loved kids, so she naturally loved hearing about Tj’s daughter. She looked forward to meeting the little girl and watching her interact with the animals when it was a good time for her to do so. When he followed her out of the room, she shot him a look and smiled, shaking her head to herself. “Maybe,” she admitted. “Yep, sounds good!” she smiled, heading towards the dog cages with him. As they drew closer the sound of dogs barking filled her eardrums, making it near impossible to speak without raising her voice. She looked over at Tj and chuckled. They walked up to one of the workers there who told them that they could feel free to feed, pet, and walk the dogs as they wanted, indicating which ones were safe to walk. Allison nodded and began going down the line of dog cages, looking behind her to see if Tj was following her. One of the cages held a large black dog who already had a full bowl. The dog pushed its nose through the cage and Allison stroked its nose softly. All the dogs were looking at them expectantly and she bit her lip. “I like this one. I want to walk him,” she said, referring to the black dog. “I guess just pick one that looks like it wants to run? Then we can look for your puppy.” She stepped inside the dog cage, careful not to let him out, and put the collar around his neck, laughing as he jumped up on her for kisses. She pushed his legs down as he was a bit too heavy to be doing that and could easily knock her down. He was eager to get out of the cage as she hooked the leash onto the collar and opened the door, bounding out with the dog pulling her.

“Can’t say I drink too much wine, but we can definitely have some once we’re down at the lake.” Tj stepped aside as she locked the door to her home and then smiled when she pecked his lips. He would have loved the kiss to last a little longer, but they had the whole afternoon to spend together, and they’d no doubt find more time to do that soon. “We’ll take my car. I’ve been to the lake a couple of times before, but just in case I do get lost, I’m going to need you to navigate me with the GPS. Make sure I don’t get us lost in the middle of nowhere.” he teased.

He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, leading her over to his car and grabbing the door for her. “So how was your class this afternoon?” he asked once he’d gotten into the drivers side. He started up the car and began driving to their destination.

“Well, I hope you can tolerate sweet wine because I can’t drink the dry stuff.” She smirked. Nodding, she followed him over to his car. “Don’t worry. I know the way there,” she chuckled. “The scenery’s really nice... isolated, private.” Reluctantly letting go of his hand, she smiled when he opened the door for her, thanking him, and sliding into the passenger’s seat. “It wasn’t bad,” she responded when they were both in the car and on their way to the lake, guiding him to the correct directions. “Just lecture. I have clinicals on Thursday. We’re going to the NICU, so we’ll be working with ill babies. This is one of my considerations for my specialty so I’m ecstatic to finally be going there. They’re starting us off in a challenging environment though.” She gave him a shrug and a smile. “How was your day?”

It had roughly been about five weeks since Tj had met Allison. And since then, he’d been trying to spend as much time with her as possible. It was difficult, considering their busy work schedules, but they still managed to make time to hang out in between it all. He enjoyed her company a lot. He’d enjoyed her company from the very first time they’d met at the nightclub in town. Since then, they’d hung out quite a few times. Allison had even come with him to adopt a new dog from the shelter. He had been looking forward to spending some more time with the woman this afternoon, once she’d finished work. 

After packing a few snacks they could eat if they got hungry down at the lake, Tj left the house just after 3:20pm, to go and pick Allison up from her place. He knocked on the door a couple of times and then took a step back to wait for her.

“Okay so, I’ve packed a few things for us— you ready to go?”

Allison had enjoyed spending time with TJ over the last five or so weeks. They’d made out quite a bit and spent some time getting to know each other and she felt comfortable in his presence. Despite nursing school and work taking up most of her time, she was still able to manage to hang out with him, even though she took some of her books and schoolwork with her while hanging out with him. She’d enjoyed hanging out with him at the park, the diner, and the animal shelter and the other times they’d hung out. All day during school she was looking forward to taking a break and hanging out with him at the lake. Making it home around 2:50, she changed clothes into a casual pair of shorts and a black sportsy tank top. Underneath she had just her underwear but she brought along with her a swimsuit in a bag, remembering that he’d mentioned he would bring snacks. She brought along a bottle of wine just in case---not thinking he liked wine all that much, but it seemed a little iffy to bring whiskey while they were swimming. 

Hearing the knocks at the door, she promptly rushed to the door and opened it up to see Tj on the other side, smiling softly at him. “Yep---ready. I’ve got some wine. I don’t know how much you like it, but I wanted to bring something,” she said, shutting and locking her door behind them. She smiled up at him and leaned in to press a peck against his lips, wanting more but not initiating any more. “Do you want to take your car or mine?” she asked, intertwining her fingers with his.

Allison: Yess, let's do something adventurous! We could go to the lake? 😊 I need a break from schoolwork, lol.

Alannah: I feel like I am letting her down but this is for the best, she pulls her hair out when she is stressed she did when I first got her, so I can't do that to her again.

Alannah: She only puts up with Franke because they have always known one another

Alannah: I just feel like a bad mom, like I am casting my kid aside, while I go and be happy.

Allison: You're not letting her down, love. Do you believe she'll be happy? Because that's what matters, as hard as it is. 🖤

Allison: And you can visit her! She'd love that, wouldn't she?

Allison: You are NOT a bad mom. You've been terrific to your dogs. I understand though... I'd feel like that if I ever had to give Bella away for any reason, but you're wonderful, Alannah. Don't doubt that.
