Undertale AU :D
A bunch of weird monsters and a human child stuck in the now empty Underground.
God knows if it'll ever get a full story, I'll toss doodles and similars here in the meanwhile :D
A New Tale. What an eye-catching and original name. Placed in a post-genocide timeline of an AU similar to the original universe, the last members of monsterkind find themselves having to raise a human child while they look for a way to get past the Barrier.
Might do something more like a reference sheet for each of them one day but motivation is scarce and the will to toss my children to the world is very very high

The whole universe is still a wip so some things may change, but not by much.

Duo's the main caretaker for Kate. He spends most of the time with her, and when he isn't keeping an eye on the her he's in New Home collecting data and studying previous researches about the Barrier. He just wants to send the human home safely. He lives with her and Papyrus in Snowdin Town. It's a long way to New Home back and forth, but Papyrus didn't want to live in Hotland and the wet enviroment of Waterfall isn't too healthy for Kate.
Papyrus is the one who makes sure Duo takes care of himself, mostly. While he appreciates his will to help, Duo sometimes forgets he is also a living being with needs. Ex royal scientist's assistant, Papyrus is the master of engineering and puzzles. He'd yap about it for hours... if anyone could understand him. He's just a floating skull without mass, and the lack of a solid body makes his speech incomprehensible. He manages to communicate by making words appear on the smoke-looking thing coming out of his bandana. How he lost his body, you ask? Great question! Onto the next character-
Kate is the human. She is a 9 years old girl who fell in the Underground by accident while exploring the mountain. She's a little spark of joy, always up to something silly. She loves everything about the Underground- from the vines growing all over the Ruins to the perpetual rain in Waterfall and the boiling lava of Hotland... but she misses her home. Her parents, her brother, her grandma... She can't wait to get out and show them all the marvelous things she found. Because Duo promised he'd get her out, and he always keeps his promises.
Shyra is a chill fish living in Waterfall with Napstablook and Donut. She takes care of Kate when Duo is out and often visits them at their home just to hang out. She loves singing, even though after falling down her voice got really distorted. The things that happen when you're perpetually melting...
Flowey's there just to observe. He actively avoids the other monsters, while he sometimes happens to chat with Kate in Waterfall. He likes to note down how they react to the various situations they find themselves in, and sometimes messes up little things just for the fun of seeing them get upset. Papyrus knows he's around and Duo might suspect it, but he doesn't care. It just makes it all more entertaining.
Napstablook mostly takes care of their house and Donut. After the previous human killed almost everyone, they couldn't bring themselves to leave the only thing they had left of their family, so they remained at the snail farm in Waterfall. Donut and Shyra live with them, and they regularly visit the other two monsters in Snowdin Town.
Donut used to be the Hotland spider clan's mascot. He's now Napstablook and Shyra's pet. He's a big fan of headpats and cookies.
Sketching out something similar to reference sheets, let's start with the two skeletal boys!
Due to some... inconvenient accidents while working with Alphys as her assistant, Papyrus is nothing more than a floating soul. He though can turn himself into incorporeal things, so to protect himself and communicate better with the others he tends to go around as a floating skull. Nobody can understand when he speaks (aside from Duo), so he creates this sort of smokey bubble to write what he wants to say.
He's almost always with Duo, though it happens that he follows Kate around while the other skeleton works. He still loves puzzles, but he's a big science nerd in general. After all, he studied the DT with Alphys and took part in the experiment that helped Shyra survive after falling...
While he wants to get out of the underground and send the human child home as much as anyone else, he's very aware of the fact that with what they have now it's nearly impossible. Nonetheless, he lets Duo do all the studies he wants- as long as he remembers to take care of himself, that is.
Duo's a funny little guy. Well, not so little... He's been Alphys' assistant for a very brief time, but still managed to collect a lot of information about the studies on the Barrier and souls. Since Kate's arrival, his main focus has been sending her back on the surface to her family. If he can manage to get what's left of monsterkind out as well, all the better.
He's always either with the human or working. Collecting data to compare, studying older researches... Sometimes it feels like he's doing the same thing over and over, but to be fair he has no idea what he's looking for either. He's just hoping to find some pattern in the Barrier's behaviour he can somehow exploit to tear it open.
When not working, he enjoys spending time with the other monsters- even just feeling like garbage with them is fine. He happens to sketch out some puzzles sometimes, even though the puzzle master remains Papyrus. He also cooks- but out of necessity, he had to learn to feed Kate. Shyra taught him some simple recipes, and he managed to not burn the house down.
