Fallon listened in on the conversation that was taking place next to her. It wasn’t as if it was fully on purpose, she just couldn’t help overhearing when the word breakfast was mentioned, “What is this about a breakfast buffet?”

“Above.” Audrey pointed above her head and whirled her finger around in a tiny circle. “I found a strip club with an all-you-can-eat pancakes, and bacon, and scrambled eggs.”

“Mostly Russian,” he smiled a little hearing her use her native tongue. There were so many cultures here. So many people, or beings, it never got old discovering more and more about Lackluster and those who lived within. “Latin, little bit of French but my accent is for shit, some Greek, some Italian, I did know Gaelic for some time but I’m not sure how much of that stuck,” he laughed a little shrugging as he thought fondly upon his time in the world. “Forgive me but I don’t think we’ve ever met before..how long have you been in Lackluster?”

“My Gaelic is out of practice.” The blonde confessed. She waved politely to the waitress to bring her another pint of the peppermint porter. “Albeit, I have been here for a fortnight.” She smoothed her hands behind her head in attempt to clam a bit of fly away hairs that were popping up.

“you’re looking for a place that you want to work in but you don’t know where said place is?” she asks, a polite smile upon her face, as she shakes out her curls.”no jobs in your sector you could do?” she asks her, before she’s chuckling at the woman.”how long have you been here?” she teases lightly.

“Not exactly.” Audrey fished around for her cigarettes in her side bag until she remembered she smoked her last one last night.  “I was hoping that a Cemetery Groundskeeper position was open.” The blonde pulled her coat around her torso as the wind kicked up from the streets and tucked her neck into her bulky scarf.

Audrey tipped the last of her beer from her pint glass. “I think I will.” She smiled, and pushed herself off her stool. “Is there a burger place 'round here?”

“Ah, they are nice,” he laughed slightly as he looked at her though his smile didn’t reach his eyes. He tried to place the accent before setting his drink down. Relaxing he watched her. “I don’t think I’ve ever been one to really be able to pull off much facial hair.” He mused with a soft shrug. “Doesn’t look all too professional.” Taking a look at his drink he took another sip, “French, is it?” He asked as he looked at the woman. “I do miss other languages, English can get a little…common.” He smiled.

“Oui, oui. I agree.” Audrey took another sip from her pint. “It can be a be--nuanced. Yes?” She leaned back, stretching her spine straight. “What other tongues do you speak?”

“it does, but then i’m not really one for taking without asking her.” she says, a smile playing on her lips as she nods her head.”she’s always got good taste, yo. nothing about anything she likes isn’t good taste.” there wasn’t a bad thing bynx would ever say about nyx. possibly in jest, but she wouldn’t mean it. but that was only between nyx and herself. with someone else, bynx didn’t have a bad thing to say against her sister, not because she was a suck up or anything, but because people interpret words the wrong way, and then it becomes a horrible mess. nyx wasn’t here to defend herself against bynx’s jests, and bynx wasn’t about to put a bad image of nyx into anyone’s minds.”think town hall might be the best place to go for a quick cup of coffee.”

“Where exactly is Town Hall?” Audrey get a dry laugh. Even thought this city was a a giant circle, it still get her all turned around. “I am on my way there this morning, for a job.” Audrey pulled out the daily paper that was pressed between her torso and upper arm. “But I cannot seem to find it.”

“did you ever think of having a drink with some pancakes?” luna and never really had crepe and coffee, but it sounded pretty good. “I haven’t actually, but I probably should try it some time, I love coffee.”

“Mmm.” Audrey was practically licking he lips. “Yes, coffee is divine. But I never get the those froo-froo drinks. I like a good espresso in the mornings with my cigarette.”

“Me dancing? Y-yeah I uh, I don’t dance or anything. I’ve never been a good dancer. I’m just awkward, I don’t move well. It u-usually just ends b-b-badly.” This was why Bryn didn’t drink, he was already a babbling mess without liquor in his system.

“Oh, come’on, mon petit chou.” Audrey chuckled, and she tipped the last of her black beer past her lips. “”It’z all ‘bout the mood you are in.” She got up from her bar stool. “'Ou can be ‘appy, and dance around like zis!” She drunk blonde started to jump and waver her arms to a silent beat. “Or v’ary sad, and sway like this.” She hug her torso and swayed back and forth, she almost feel over.

“don’t do that.” luna waved for another drink as she watched audrey lick what remained on her upper lip from her drink. it made her chuckle a bit at the sight of it. “you’re in luck that I agree on pancake being amazing.”

“Oh my. I could go on about pancakes.” She let out a dry laugh her mind thinking about the pancakes. Her ancient accent leaked out as she spoke again. "’Owever, if you h’ave ever ‘ad a  crêpe an’d coffee... It will make you a believer.”

“I asked if you’ve been dancing before. You said yes. Then I um--” Audrey started to laugh, but it turned into a drunken cackle. “You know, I have no idea.”

Sloane chuckled lightly as the blonde talked, growing more and more fond of her with each beer. “Burlesque is better than a stripper,” she smiled, taking a swig of her own as they continued to chat, “But free buffet will always win.”

“Especially, if it’s a pancake buffet. I’m pretty sure I have died once at a buffet.” The blonde let up a melodic laugh as she threw back the last of her ale. The table was scatted about with a few empty pup glasses and a half pack of cigarettes between the two girls. Every since she showed up on the doorstep of Sloane’s (and now her home) home, she’s been busy settling in. Digging graves never was busy work, but it was she was good at (take that as you may). But tonight was her first night off, and the new roommates first time conversing with more than just pleasantries. “Oui-yesyes, I have defiantly croaked at a buffet table.” She waved for a server to bring another round.

“Well, so maybe you’re more of an expert than I am,” he shrugged. Taking a sip once more he pulled out his com checking a few notes worth of intake patients and what was happening at the hospital. Gabriel’s job never truly ended, and he was fine with that. He wasn’t about ready to start up a full conversation with a mere stranger unless she was looking for something more…finishing off his drink the Russian asked for a vodka, straight, top shelf. “You’ve got a bit,” he slipped from his stool brushing her top lip free. “There.”

She blushed pink in the apples of her cheeks. “Oh, sorry.” Her fingers brushed over the ghosted feeling left on her upper mouth. “When you drink a stout, sometimes you just got to embrace possibility of a ‘stash.” Audrey was on her third one, and her ancient Normandy accent started to bleed into her words.Over the many many many many years it has melted away. Most days she has to remind herself that she is a proud French woman.
