God I get chills at the shot in the P3P opening of Ken and Koromaru standing in front of the escalators, vertically mirrored so that above, they stand inert without their SEES gear as Takaya is taken up the escalator away from them, and below, they have their SEES regalia and Ken raises his evoker to summon as Shinjiro is taken down escalator to them, and both of the figures in the back have their faces cut off by the mirror line.

Never stops being funny that P5R had Take Over play when you ambush enemies, therefore relegating Last Surprise, the song with the super punchy intro, about being entirely in control of the battlefield, utilizing the element of surprise with swiftness and precision, to playing only when you categorically do not have the element of surprise. Rather than the relatively more toned down, driving and persistent tune whose title means “to gain control” that is Take Over.

At a certain point I think I literally don’t even like Persona that much I seem incapable of being excited or positive about anything, yet it’s embedded into me enough that I can’t really say I’m not a fan either. It’s that insanity inducing sort of mid where there’s genuinely incredibly interesting and well executed stuff throughout every entry but also a bunch of Bullshit That Straight Up Sucks and stuff that’s theoretically interesting if anyone involved had thought to do it on purpose or make it good, and atlus as a company is addicted to regurgitating the same meal over and over again and asking a hunded dollars and a hundred hours for it each time. So. But like actually yay for Persona 6 I am at least interested in what the direction for something new is gonna be. Seems especially horror-themed?
