Canon hasn't been here for many months, and due to my recent change in fandoms I no longer see a reason to chase him. I will still rp with anyone from any fandom (including Naruto), and we can plot for any AU imaginable or do random one-liners but the Modern muse I played on the side (and the original Kakashi I played on this blog when it first began actually) is now the sole inhabitant. He is not fixed to any fandom, and is completely flexible. I hope to still interact with a lot of you! Merci, and... i'm very very sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Especially to those who had bonds with my Canon one. There will be more info concerning this changeover in the next few days, hopefully! yours, - Kakashi- mun

Everything seemed to be slightly crazy though with time she was sure things would ease up some. Of course it didn’t meant her feelings would change. It seemed things were nice just as they were and she didn’t want to ruin it or have any mushy romantic spells. Things would just be better if she didn’t expect anything from him and he didn’t expect anything from her.
That’s easy enough.
A light smile spread on her lips when he spoke. Seemed that they were at an understanding. She didn’t expect anything nor did he. That smile of his was nothing she had expected but she was glad. It was enough to let her know that just maybe things would work out like she had wanted.
"It’s worth a shot, since we are stuck together like it or not." Not that she didn’t like it, she was just unsure of how to feel. It was all so new to her and him both so they just needed some time to adjust to this. "But hey, we have plenty of time to learn how this all works out." Two brows knit together as she heard about his trust issues. It didn’t matter though she hoped that she could earn his trust later on. "Well no worries, I don’t expect undying loyalties or you to tell me everything. It’s your business not mine." Just because they were connected didn’t mean they needed to share everything.
The handshake was rather strange not because of him but just due to everything going on at once. She squeezed his hand lightly before she pulled back. Great he uses that name anyways! What was the point in telling him not to? "It’s Ko and no worries. We all have our moments." She said figuring it was best to correct him now to avoid the issue later on.
Her eyebrow raised slightly at his inquiry but she nodded. She could of course kill some time to spend time with him. Plus anything was better than going home. ”So… you were working?” She asked wanting to know more but she knew better than to ask. He would tell her in time.
"Right." ...He knew that.
For a brief moment as he turned back toward the bar, the faint remnants of the smile still lingering about his features, Kakashi was conflicted.
Still set on keeping the majority of his mind on the job, the idea briefly passed about that statement, linking into Ko's question. Working, yes. But at what? Anything. Anything that would earn him money, that is. Right now he was a bodyguard of sorts, an outsider who could track and predict movements of a circle he had no connections to. But just as quickly he could be hired by today's enemy, and become the hitman of tomorrow. The million-dollar diamond thief of tomorrow. The trashman, to take out other people's fuck-ups. Who was he? ...He was the man who made things disappear.
Kakashi cast a brief glance back at Ko and lifted an arm to casually push the door open. "Yeah, I'm actually in the middle of a--" Oh. -Shit. Not even two seconds of surveying the panic inside, told him everything he needed to know.
....! They waited. They waited for their chance. The bastards.
"Fuck," came the murmur, shifting his weight from one foot to the other gently. Fuck, of course. Without missing a beat and without having time to explain anything he spun around to his soulmate behind, making direct eye contact for the first time as he leaned inwards and gripped her shoulders lightly. The mismatched colors piercing, in the dim light. "I need you to stay here. Something's happened."
And without giving her time to protest, he'd vaulted over the nearest table and bravely out into the mass of panicked drunks, to confirm what he already knew. Straight toward the tight-knit group at the back. As they parted to reveal what they'd been guarding, time seemed to slow. It revealed the sight of a body.. blood rushing out of it's owner's neck from a vicious stab wound that had pierced it moments before. The exact event he'd been hired to prevent. Tendrils of failure extended eerily across the floor as Kakashi stood there, blood reaching out between his two feet. Silently extending, cemented to his heels now, like a shadow. ...The shadow of death. Kakashi was no stranger to it, after all.
“What’s the difference?” I asked him. “Between the love of your life, and your soulmate?” “One is a choice, and one is not.”

//I'M BACK AND PEOPLE ARE MESSAGING ME OMG YOU GUYS ARE SO SWEET I CAN'T
The truth was, nothing was like the stories told about soulmates. It wasn’t love at first sight or anything like that actually it was awkward and uncomfortable. She didn’t know anything about him at all, but she was hoping to know him better with time.
Once again the two became silent as they stood there. This time it wasn’t quite as bad as the first time. The most uncomfortable thing had already happened so it couldn’t be much worse right? No of course not since they could only get better from here.
Her gaze shifted down his body; checking to make sure there was no blood or anything else that could be harmful to him. He seemed fine aside from the obvious tension between the two. It certainly wasn’t going to get any better until they spoke with each other but his name was a good start.
"Nakamaru, Sumiko but I prefer to be called Ko. I am twenty-three years old…." she began, figuring he should know now.
She paused for a brief moment before looking at him completely serious now. ”Look, I have no clue how this works or how you feel but let me just start by saying that I don’t expect you to fall in love with me or to have this sappy romance that girls freak out over. I could careless how you feel about me but…” She looked at her wrist then sighed. ”Like it or not, we are bond together so I want to be your friend.”
Just a friend that I am tied to for the rest of my life. the person I am destined to fall in love with and share everything with. No pressure….. Yeah right. This is so messed up.
"Oh, and I promise you that I will always be here if you need me….. Just don’t expect me always like you." A light joke to try to lighten the mood a little.
Watching her body language, it was easy for Kakashi to discern that they were equals in how... er, underwhelmed they were by the whole situation. He let out a soft breath that he'd been completely unaware he was holding, and with it went a lot of the tension.
"Mh." Not something he'd thought about, that they would be such different ages. It was only a fleeting thought, though. Fate sure moved in strange ways. Kakashi didn't feel suddenly old, though. Or maybe he did.. maybe he'd always felt 'old'.
"..That's exactly what i'd expect a soulmate of mine to say," he admitted, the slightest hint of a smile pulling at the side of his mouth, lifting a tiny silver line of scar tissue with it. "Same here. The rest of my life may be yours, but.. I don't trust easy anymore." Okay, now it was at least worthy of being called a 'smile'. "Doesn't mean we can't try though."
He offered her a handshake, although it was more of an instinctive gesture, a peace offering of minimal intimacy since anything more seemed completely out of place, even if that in itself also seemed a little odd. "Sorry about back there, Sumiko."
He then gave a slight glance behind him at the door, indicating it. "You busy? I'm s'posed to be on a job, but.." Despite having not given much information about himself yet, it seemed pointless to just blurt it all out in the middle of the street like the spanish inquisition were suddenly on his tail. Not that the bar was much better either, but it was where he was supposed to be right now, either way.
So, I haven’t actually done one of these for awhile, nor have I done one for this blog. I’m also procrastinating on exams things. I’d like to take this time to thank those of you who have opted to follow this blog. I know it’s not canon in the least, but I hope you enjoy it on your dash and to interact with many more of you in the future.
Special Thanks:
♨ menmashinata - Wallace, you know why you’re special to me. You’ve been there countless times and you continue to be. You’re always willing to listen to me, no matter how petty the problem may be. I enjoy talking and rping with you. You’re someone that never fails to brighten up my day and for that I truly thank you. You’re a great friend and I will always be here for you should you need me.
♨ shining-days - Abbie ka dabbie. I adore you girlie, you know that. Our Skype chats get ridiculous and our modern muses don’t really get along, but that’s all well and fine. We’re still good friends at the end of the day, even if you spam my Snapchat just to call me a loser. You’re a great person and I can see your writing grow throughout all the months we’ve been interacting together. I will always be here to listen to you. You’ve helped me plenty of times and for that I thank you.
♨ iamsharingansasuke - Will….I DIDN’T MEAN TO UNFOLLOW YOU THIS MORNING. FORGIVE ME. No seriously I really didn’t. I love and adore your Sasuke muse. You write him well and it’s always a pleasure to interact with you. I know you’re dealing with things and it sucks. I promise that it does get better. Things won’t always seem so bleak and you’ll find your light. Until then, I’m here if you ever need to vent.
♨ desertgourd - Buttercup, you’re not losing that nickname anytime soon. Thanks for letting me talk things out with you. You don’t even need to say anything sometimes, it’s just me talking something out and realizing I had the answer all along. Other times you help me with school work and that’s much appreciated. You’re good at explaining things so I can understand them and you’ve always been good at making sure people are comfortable. It’s appreciated. Your Gaara is flawless of course, you really understand your muse and it shows. Have some faith in yourself because you and your writing are wonderful.
♨ unforgettable-eyes - Sam, I’m very happy you’re back. Your Neji is beautiful, just like you. You’re easy to talk to and engage with. You’re nice to pretty much everyone and just so approachable. Shush, I know what I first told you. I was a wee scared one okay. I’m glad that we’re friends, truly. You’re someone I know I can count on and talk to.
♨ littlesasuke-chan - Chikara, you’re adorable. Whatever you say, you’re sweet to me at least. You’re mature and wise past your age. I’ve watched you and your writing grow. I’m proud of you girl. I know it will only continue to grow more. Keep trucking hun, high school will end and you’ll meet better people, promise.

There was a brief moment of silence that fell between them. Those few seconds seemed to feel like an eternity for her but the world kept moving. It seemed no one had been paying them any attention; thank kami above for that.
She didn’t know where to even begin or why this even mattered. Her life wasn’t going to magically change because she met some man that was suppose to be her soulmate. It all seemed like just ma big headache…. Even more so now since he wasn’t going to be willing to open up to her without a lot of work. His voice quickly caught her attention then she nodded. He was probably right and since he had just been fighting someone it would be best to get away. The only problem was, she didn’t know where to go from here. Yeah, it was clear they were soulmates but that didn’t mean much if neither one of them wanted it.
"Right and you should probably get away before that guy ends up hurting you." She didn’t give him much of a choice as she pulled him away from the bar and out the door.
Instantly a rush of night air hit her in the face causing her to shiver. It wasn’t really the most comforting feeling but she would take it over the situation at hand any day. After a moment or two she turned back to the stranger then sighed.
"Are you hurt?" the natural question to ask after something like that or at least she thought it was. "Do you need me to look at your head or anything…?"
Man this just keeps getting better huh? I wonder if he even cares what I think… Probably not.
In hindsight they both seem to be as surprised and compromised by the whole event as each other, which ...in itself felt somewhat ironic. Perhaps there was a reason they were both chosen to be connected, after all.
At her words the silver haired male gives a surprised glance in the direction and is just in time to dodge a stool leg, which although may have seemed like a close shave at first glace was something he was never in danger of being hit with anyway. But without being given time to even formulate a reply to his apparent soulmate's words he was already being pulled towards the exit and did nothing to fight it.
The danger's over, anyway. You've done your job, coincidence.
It was much colder now that the sun had set, not that Kakashi had much room to complain. He took a deep breath of the air, a momentary scan of their surroundings happened without conscious decision. Nothing felt that different... and yet... it did.
"Nah, I'm fine." He answered the question, with the slightest hint of awkwardness. A hand ending up to the side of his neck for a split second, while he shifted, choosing his words. Maybe she hadn't understood? He had just insinuated he was a danger..
A thought crossed his mind then of the serial killers, and how while he wasn't one of those that there were at least a small percentage of the population that were soulbound to murderers, and he hadn't exactly clarified the difference yet. Perhaps she was a serial killer.
"Look, I'm..." An introduction worked, first and foremost. "Kakashi."
"What about you?"

In a universe where everyone is born with numbers on their wrists counting down to when they'll meet their soulmate, send me 00:00:00 for my muses reaction to their numbers hitting zero when they meet yours.
Tonight was a sort of special occasion. Sumiko had plans out on the town with a couple close girl friends of hers which meant two things. There would be booze and a lot of it. And there would surely be men to talk about. It wasn’t her favorite thing to do but sometimes it was nice to just get out to have a little fun. The small group arrived at the local bar in a rather seedy part of town. Once inside they took a seat at this small table in the center of the room; a spot where they could see just about everything. Soon the pounding of music filled the air along with the stench of smoke. Not the most appealing atmosphere though Ko was pretty lucky. Over the years she had learned to block out most things she found annoying including her friends when need be. After all, sometimes everyone need a break from reality from time to time. Sumiko had zoned out for quiet some time when she finally came back into reality. Her gaze settled on her friend as she pointed to one of the rather grumpy looking man with silver hair at the bar. He didn’t seem to be the it guy but all the girls were talking about him. The conversation seemed to go on and on and on.It was getting rather annoying so she decided to just go have a drink of something much stronger. She took a seat at the bar and ordered herself a whiskey. Three or four shots later she could feel the booze kicking in. Her body slowly began to relax little by little but the pleasure was short live.Behind her there was a ruckus. Her eyes cut to this bar fight going on. Before she could really focus on anything someone slammed into her causing her drink to fall to the ground. ”Hey!” She screamed as she turned to see the man next to her.She was ready to really go off but soon she realized that something was off. There was this tingling in her wrist and she looked to see the numbers had finally reached 00:00:00. She snapped her attention to the man who was now grabbing her wrist. "Hell no!" He proclaimed as he dropped her hand."Well it aint like I picked this." she snarled moving back some.
— Soulmates were not something that were ever predominant on Kakashi’s mind. Since as long as the man could remember, the process had been very tangible. Unavoidable. When children were born, the ones who carried these markings were catalogged and their lifetimes mapped out before them, as they were almost guaranteed to survive as long as it took the timer to reach zero.
They were the lucky ones. The ones sent out into wars. The ones counted on to risk their less frail lives every day. Those who were born without a number, however… usually weren’t guaranteed to make it out of their first year. Cursed to live a short, lonely life and the target of much suspicion and fear.
No, soulmates were everything in this world. Soulmates brought happiness. Being ensured one meant power. Losing them could cause fatality. You were nothing without that number on your wrist, it could tell your whole life story long before words ever could. It was said if one’s soulmate was killed before the timer reached zero, the remaining half would also fall dead. Interconnection. ..So why was this individual so disinterested in the way of life this world indulged in? The simple laws of nature?
Well… although being one of the lucky ones with a high enough count to ensure life well into his thirties, Kakashi Hatake had been surrounded by tragedy when it came to the concept. He’d watched countless friends reach zero at a young age, watched them be whipped away into a myriad of happiness upon meeting their own soulmate, only to die not long after.
From every corner of the world, zeros seemed to haunt him.
It made him bitter. Watching their lives slowly tick away like that and being unable to do anything to stop it. It seemed he was always the only one with any time left.
No… Hatake had learned to associate these zeros… not with the beginning of a new life and the happiness that would follow, but with inevitable death and destruction. The fact their fates were sealed from the moment they were born seemed like the cruelest form of punishment to him and he hated it.
—
He hadn’t looked at his own counter in weeks. The numbers were decreasing rapidly he knew, the time was quickly approaching when they would meet, but instead the ex-convict tried to continue his life without giving it much thought. Who it would be would be irrelevant, to him it only marked the end of his ‘curse’. Would he suddenly feel a surge of romantic feelings for her, was that how it worked? Would it just magically work? Although posessing the capabilities deep down, Kakashi couldn’t imagine ever feeling anything short of suspicion for a complete stranger. For many years following their meeting, he would continue to distance himself probably. The few he’d ever let in in this respect were both lost sheep too, who he knew to the core and had grown up with, the love developing slowly. He already knew his soulmate would not be any of these people... he knew.
A slight lift of his sleeve as he moved to write a check, revealed a measly ten minutes of immortality left. God…
They’d joke about this moment, he and Minato. Long after the accident, after they’d moved temporarily to California and the old blond had unravelled the bandage for the first time for the silverette to see.
"One day you and I will not be different," he’d smiled sadly as Kakashi traced it, the cold zeros bruised deep into his skin over the years spent alone. His timer had stopped years of course, and after living a happy seven years with his wife and soulmate, had lost her ……….and it was Kakashi’s fault. Kakashi had survived and she had not, probably because he still had time left and she hadn’t. But Minato hadn’t died of a broken heart. For some reason, he was still here. He’d survived losing so much in one lifetime, including his soulmate… it was often the inspiration Kakashi needed. The blond damn well deserved to see him try to live, after all the pain he’d unintentionally caused.
—- The thought of who he’d come face to face with in the next few minutes, seemed irrelevant. In fact, despite still being required to keep an eye on his charge, Kakashi found himself inexplicably heading toward the door in a final act of defiance. Nope. Defying fate was not possible, as circumstance would keep him from gravitating too far off track, but damn it he would try.
The tinkle of broken glass though, caused a single-working pupil to dilate, and the rebellion was already brought straight to a halt. Reflexes narrowly saved him from being thrown across a table by a burly man in a leather jacket, but he had to growl at the whole coincidence. The fight had broken out suspiciously quickly, and without having time to react, he’d found his shoulder wedged against the wall leading out of the bar. Mere inches from freedom, but was it already too late?
Instinct brought Kakashi to swing around though, as the person he’d been closest to had been affected by the tousle also. And that’s when he saw it. As cliché as all the movies had told him it would be, it was right there. An obvious bared wrist, the zeros fresh and lightly resting on soft skin as she moved around to see what all the commotion was.
He didn’t need to look down to know his own was the same shade.
"Oh hell no,” he hissed, more to the offending wrist than the woman he was now grabbing. Hopefully she would understand the sentiment.
"Well it ain’t like I picked this," she grumbles back, and he releases her with a small frustrated flourish, the gleam of pink numbers against his own skin visible for a moment beneath the sleeve. Glancing quickly away in disbelief. Something, anything to guide him in this moment. At least she understands. At least she’s not sappy and over-emotional like y’always see on tv, all crying and stuff. You can handle this. Deep breath.
His heart is beating hard in his chest, and the fight is already being broken up and fading back into the hubbub of the bar, leaving just them, and their new life.. and… and… people weren’t even staring thankfully..
"Look, you’re probably in danger." he states bluntly without much thought. "I don’t exactly have a good track record." It was only fair to warn her, right?
Sumiko's lips twitched slightly when he spoke then she shook her head. there was no real reason she'd asked, she was merely curious. Wasn't often she seen someone like him around here. The scent of smoke was thick in the air and she could tell he had been smoking. "Curiosity I suppose that or I just wanted conversation with someone other than myself, you pick which reason you like better." {shh it's wonderful as always. Jon is always out of my league.}
Sensei did say they’d be a while.
Turning round just enough to seem like I’m not being rude, I finally set the glass down and stop playing with it. The noise it made on the counter’s gone, all that’s left is this soft drone of voices i’d fall asleep if I had to listen to all night, anyway.
"Conversation sounds like a good enough reason," I decide, with a nod and a subconscious shift of eyes. Curiosity.. she’s got that much anyway. I’m about the only guy here with half a face, who’s staring into his whiskey like it’s suddenly a losing battle to look at the thing.
"Mh, and what about you? Why are you here then?" May as well get this conversation going if there’s gonna be one, then.
The petite woman stared at the man with a curious gaze. He certainly didn't look like the type to be out having a good time with friends. It made her wounder why he was even out. "Is there a reason you are here?" She finally managed to speak up; unable to hold her tongue.
Christ, even the room smells like it. Swilling the last dregs around the bottom of the glass disinterested, it’s not even surprising when a voice nearby speaks up. This girl’s been staring at me for a while now and I’ve been pretending not to notice. Too preoccupied with the stink of foreign cigarettes and cheap alcohol, don’t wanna face the local birds chasing me round as well.
"Why, is there a reason you’re inquiring?" I lean back slightly on the seat, pretending to take notice of her for the first time. May as well sound interested. I’m not trying t’make any enemies here, at least not ‘till I know a few more people.
"..." He's taken notice, just... doesn't feel the presence requires much of a response.
Ask my character two personal questions. They will answer one.
