This rp blog goes by my motto : "As canon as possible." So yeah, everything about this Scout blog I will try to keep as close to the source material as possible. (heavily based on voice lines, Nathan Vetterlein's tf2 playthroughs using his Scout voice (whatever he says in Scout's voice I think is what Scout would say), and Scout's meet the team video and backstory (official tf2 wiki), comics () basically everything we have).

This is the RED Scout. (I do believe that RED Scout is the canon Scout.)

The only one minor edit with this Scout is that Scout stops pursuing Miss Pauling much earlier so basically after their ‘date’ after Expiration Date. — Scout still struggles with his feelings / BUT that doesn’t stop him from getting into other relationships / falling in love unlike in the comics. + Miss Pauling tells him there are other women in the world much earlier.

ANYWAY

tf2 oc blogs will be acknowledged as existing in the universe most of the time, like Scout will know your guy if you want him to, esp. if your blog has a short bg easy enough for me to understand and so I have everything I need to know that Scout should know. Then I might play into that. Otherwise he won't know too much abt ur oc.

“Oh God. Do ya need the Medic or somethin’? That looked really bad.”

{He looks around for the baseball and picks it up, rubbing it on his pants to dust it off.}

“Nah, don’t worry bout that, kid. Just caught me off guard, that’s all. Ya need sumthin’ or..?”

”Eh, not really.” {Scout shrugged and paced around.}

“I’m kind of bored and I couldn’t at all find the others…” {He tossed Scrapper the baseball lightly, hoping it doesn’t startle her again.}

“…aaand when I sorta did they were all busy doing their own things, had stuff to do I’d rather pass on. And then I walked into something I didn’t want to, cuz’ seems like some of these guys are so bored they feel like getting up to it. And I also kinda don’t wanna bother Pyro again while they’re doin’ all the crazy fire stuff because I have no idea what he— if she’s even a he, is gonna do next…”

“And then now there’s you.” {He seemed to be trying to hide it, but the disappointment in his voice was palpable.}

“Hm. Yeah, Sniper an’ Demo are off doin’… well I’m not quite sure. I’ve been busy meself for mosta the day too… though im free now, in case ya wanna… I dunno what kids do these days. Was gonna steal sum of Spy’s cigarettes from his room.”

{Scout smiled as he caught the ball.}

“Not bad.” {He throws the ball back to the Scrapper.}

“I don’t know what we do these days either. Well. All I’d know is that you’d have a group of whoever smoking and wasting away. But I don’t uh, smoke. So, then I stand around and waste away doing other things.” {He paused and kicked the dirt.}

“Or I go eat something. But then I accidentally eat Heavy’s sandwich sometimes. And then after that happens I have something interesting, I guess? No. Well. It’s not that interesting because he punched out all my blood. That was not fun. I don’t wanna mess with that guy again. He got realll mad…”

{Scout just kept talking.}

[A German, particularly angry voice rung out in echos as a dove started zooming around in the air. It bumps into the RED Scout and flops to the ground in shock.]

[It takes a while until its' owner finally managed to catch up.]

Socrates, I told you to stop running around like a ma—

[It's a BLU Medic. But not really the BLU Medic that Scout was familiar with. He had a pair of wings and a hat that he never really imagined a Medic would wear, really. What is more surprising, however, is that he stopped in his tracks and stared dead in Scout's eyes like he was looking for something. Someone. A memory. Then he shook his head, perhaps coming to a conclusion in his mind that was as fleeting as his initial impression.]

Ah, vell, hallo there. Sorry for zhe bird, he is mein. I- err..

[He hesitates, as his hand floats there with a heavy thought he doesn't dare to spill. He couldn't speak his mind out. He looked stuck.]

[The white bird flies over to Scout.]

{RED Scout backed up at the sound of the angry German voice with a chuckle. At first assuming it was the medic on his team, he squatted down to look at the dove that ran into him. He gently pokes at it, hoping that he didn't kill the poor thing. The one thing about that 'doctor' was that he really cared about his doves.}

{Seeing it twitch slightly he stood back up, still examining the bird at his feet until he heard the voice, now closer, say 'Socrates.' Socrates?}

{Jeremy stared back, confused but kind of intrigued. He's seen the other BLU Medic before, this one was really different. Especially in terms of choice of dress. He glanced from the hat to the wings to the dead looking stare.}

"Yeah, yeah its no big deal... uh..." {He paused and squinted at him.} "You look kinda new. 'What's with the whole get-up?--" {As he began to pace it was almost like a curious interrogation, he didn't seem to even pick up on the fact that this unfamiliar Medic had practically froze. He just kept on rambling.} "...Are those wings real? ...The hat's nice though. I like it! Maybe its better and you know, has an extra use, with these birds."

{He smiles at the same white bird, Socrates(?), that flew over.} "Hey, look, he agrees with me! -- Yeah, I figured that if Medic wore a hat one day they could use the brim as a kinda perch. Oh, you know what, I'm gonna ask your bird some questions too, I think we're gonna be pals now. Me and your bird." {He pretended to listen to it.} "Uh-huh, Uh-huh. Oh I get it. He was flying like crazy because he smelled our Spy from a mile away. 'Yeah, yeah. He smells."

[The older gentleman stared at Scout in silence, almost as if remembering things only he understood. He looked... uncomfortable? Lost? Longing? Longing. But it faded away once he got his shit together, taking a breath.]

[He looked around to see if there was anyone else who was looking at him. Thankfully no one, but it was good to be cautious.]

Wouldn't say new, I fear. I take you have never er.. Nevermind.

[He just awkwardly stood there.]

[Just near his belt hung a shotgun that was usually only reserved for Scouts, which is odd. Sure, Scout may not be the brightest of the bunch (even though he will never admit that), he is pretty sure Medics aren't commonly seen with actual weapons (unless it's the Ubersaw, or something else). Seriously, this guy is really different, it's difficult to pinpoint what he is.]

[Such a curious sight.]

{Scout looked back at 'new' Medic after a good 5 minutes of being pre-occupied by the bird, seeming to never run out of nonsense to talk about; whatever jokes and one liners to say about the whole thing. At seeing the older man's facial expression, Scout's string of chuckles began slowing down and decreasing in volume until there was silence from both parties. He noted the fact he was looking around and glanced around as well.}

"...Are you alright?" {He shoved his hands in his pockets.} "And with that mumbling I was listenin' to. You're not a newbie? ... And if you were about to see you guess I've never seen you around. You'd be right. Or maybe I just never noticed you I guess..." {Scout cautiously looked at the 'Medic' with a bit more thought. Sometimes those odd looks was sometimes a dangerous look. It meant that a person knew something he didn't. He'd always instinctually check if anyone was armed, in combat or outside of combat, but he'd usually never expect Medics. He guessed that the Gravel Wars had dulled his perception a bit}

{... and that was a shotgun. A kind of shotgun that he's held before. One that he was used to firing. He looked away as if he was looking behind him. He didn't want to startle the guy, or ask questions that he wouldn't want, even if the guy did seem somewhat more quiet than the Medics he was used to. He guessed he shouldn't ask about anything too specific.}

"Who are you anyway?"

[He snapped out of his silence, realizing the front he now has to play. His heart was on something else, yet his mind tells him to focus ahead. He clears his throat.]

Just call me zhe Doctor. Don't think you need to know anything else, mein friend.

[There it is, the classic air of any Medic would. The air of German sass and bullshittery.]

And yes, we have not seen each other before. My apologies for mein reaction. Nothing to worry about, of course.

[Socrates finally flies back to its owner, perched on his side, as the doctor does the talking. He was smooth-tongued. Sure, this one was much more mild-mannered than Scout's own Medic. That one was a full on psycho if he sees one, but he couldn't risk being comfortable with the guy. What if he wants his organs too?!]

You are currently on break from zhe battlefield for now, ja? I noticed it's so.. quiet in here.

{Scout smiles sort of warmly. He thought he might like getting to know this armed Medic guy. And it’s been a while since he’s talked to anyone outside of his own team.}

“Nice to meet’cha Doc. I’m the RED team’s Scout.“ {He gestured to himself as if it were obvious.} “Best one around.” {He extended his hand.}

{Scout casually nodded at the apology and waved it off.} “And you’re fine. I’ve met bigger weirdos.” {All the team’s different classes were similar people/clones but had different personalities and these little things about them that made them seem so different from each-other. Maybe this guy was just kind of weird like that. Maybe he just randomly stares into space really awkwardly like Pyro sometimes.}

“And yeah. We haven’t been doin’ much battling stuffs. ‘Despite being mercenaries and everything. Breaks are nice, but I gotta be honest I miss the noise. All that adrenaline is a lot more fun, but as least there’s no respawn, no callin’ for Medic because — you know. I gotta utilise my resources, I can’t leave a trail of blood if I have the intelligence! They’re gonna follow it!” {He sighs.} “Anyway. Yeah. I miss the running and the chasin’. Some of us have been here so long we can’t imagine a life without the Gravel Wars.”

“Well. That’s besides me, though.”

[Yeah. That's definitely something he could agree with too well.]

[He couldn't help but let out a breathless chuckle from him. An involuntary action. The Doctor felt a wave of . . . something. Whatever it may be, it made him feel unpleasant. Sad, even. Looking at this Scout makes him feel so much pain, and the kid didn't have to see that. He was just like his boy.]

[Normally, he wouldn't bother with even talking with these mercenaries. In fact, he often killed them all the time. He was ruthless. Angry. Vengeful. Full of smirks and laughter and bloodshed that stained his clothes deeply with the blood of anybody he sees, RED or BLU. He was a problem. The Doctor is dangerous.]

[Yet when he sees any Scout, he . . .]

I can imagine that, Hase. I get it.

[He could only smirk. Not the condescending one. Not the one that he shows off his sharp teeth, the bloodlust in his eyes, the hatred. A soft one. One that he used to be.]

[Oh, it hurts to interact with a Scout.]

{Scout, noticing the Doctor's smile, smiled back and playfully punched him in the shoulder. Maybe the guy really was the friendly type. Which was nice, it meant a little more company. He was sure they could be friends. He wasn't a BLU, anyway.} "Hey! o you do got a little sense of humor on ya. 'Was thinking you're one of those 'I don't smile' types. No offense."

{He stretched a bit.}

"But yeah, I got a lot of big plans and ideas for after the Gravel Wars. A lotta plans...--"

{Catching a short glimpse of purple in the distance, Scout paused for a moment. Miss Pauling. Suddenly he was remembering what he was planning to do the next time he had the chance to talk to her. He'd almost completely forgot about it. He had to apologize about -- well. A lot of things.}

{Scout turned back to the Doctor, seemingly in a hurry now.} "--I'll uh, tell you about it all later! See ya, pal!"

"It was real nice meeting you!"

{He called out to him before going on his way toward the woman. His voice fading out into the distance.}

"Miss Pauling..!

..Hey!

Miss P..!"

[And then, just as quickly, Scout went away.]

[It was a conflicting feeling. At first, he was glad that the kid left. It felt illegal to talk to him so casually, because he's supposed to be doing something else. He's supposed to be all by himself, searching, finding, killing . . . and even if he'll find what he is seeking, he doesn't see a life outside of Teufort. He doesn't see himself live somewhere else, even if it's in a place like the Bahamas or anywhere but New Mexico.]

[Yet . . . It feels so hollowing. So empty. Why does it feel so cold?]

{Scout, noticing the Doctor's smile, smiled back and playfully punched him in the shoulder. Maybe the guy really was the friendly type. Which was nice, it meant a little more company. He was sure they could be friends. He wasn't a BLU, anyway.} "Hey! o you do got a little sense of humor on ya. 'Was thinking you're one of those 'I don't smile' types. No offense."

{He stretched a bit.}

"But yeah, I got a lot of big plans and ideas for after the Gravel Wars. A lotta plans...--"

{Catching a short glimpse of purple in the distance, Scout paused for a moment. Miss Pauling. Suddenly he was remembering what he was planning to do the next time he had the chance to talk to her. He'd almost completely forgot about it. He had to apologize about -- well. A lot of things.}

{Scout turned back to the Doctor, seemingly in a hurry now.} "--I'll uh, tell you about it all later! See ya, pal!"

"It was real nice meeting you!"

{He called out to him before going on his way toward the woman. His voice fading out into the distance.}

[A German, particularly angry voice rung out in echos as a dove started zooming around in the air. It bumps into the RED Scout and flops to the ground in shock.]

[It takes a while until its' owner finally managed to catch up.]

[It's a BLU Medic. But not really the BLU Medic that Scout was familiar with. He had a pair of wings and a hat that he never really imagined a Medic would wear, really. What is more surprising, however, is that he stopped in his tracks and stared dead in Scout's eyes like he was looking for something. Someone. A memory. Then he shook his head, perhaps coming to a conclusion in his mind that was as fleeting as his initial impression.]

Ah, vell, hallo there. Sorry for zhe bird, he is mein. I- err..

[He hesitates, as his hand floats there with a heavy thought he doesn't dare to spill. He couldn't speak his mind out. He looked stuck.]

[The white bird flies over to Scout.]

{RED Scout backed up at the sound of the angry German voice with a chuckle. At first assuming it was the medic on his team, he squatted down to look at the dove that ran into him. He gently pokes at it, hoping that he didn't kill the poor thing. The one thing about that 'doctor' was that he really cared about his doves.}

{Seeing it twitch slightly he stood back up, still examining the bird at his feet until he heard the voice, now closer, say 'Socrates.' Socrates?}

{Jeremy stared back, confused but kind of intrigued. He's seen the other BLU Medic before, this one was really different. Especially in terms of choice of dress. He glanced from the hat to the wings to the dead looking stare.}

"Yeah, yeah its no big deal... uh..." {He paused and squinted at him.} "You look kinda new. 'What's with the whole get-up?--" {As he began to pace it was almost like a curious interrogation, he didn't seem to even pick up on the fact that this unfamiliar Medic had practically froze. He just kept on rambling.} "...Are those wings real? ...The hat's nice though. I like it! Maybe its better and you know, has an extra use, with these birds."

{He smiles at the same white bird, Socrates(?), that flew over.} "Hey, look, he agrees with me! -- Yeah, I figured that if Medic wore a hat one day they could use the brim as a kinda perch. Oh, you know what, I'm gonna ask your bird some questions too, I think we're gonna be pals now. Me and your bird." {He pretended to listen to it.} "Uh-huh, Uh-huh. Oh I get it. He was flying like crazy because he smelled our Spy from a mile away. 'Yeah, yeah. He smells."

[The older gentleman stared at Scout in silence, almost as if remembering things only he understood. He looked... uncomfortable? Lost? Longing? Longing. But it faded away once he got his shit together, taking a breath.]

[He looked around to see if there was anyone else who was looking at him. Thankfully no one, but it was good to be cautious.]

Wouldn't say new, I fear. I take you have never er.. Nevermind.

[He just awkwardly stood there.]

[Just near his belt hung a shotgun that was usually only reserved for Scouts, which is odd. Sure, Scout may not be the brightest of the bunch (even though he will never admit that), he is pretty sure Medics aren't commonly seen with actual weapons (unless it's the Ubersaw, or something else). Seriously, this guy is really different, it's difficult to pinpoint what he is.]

{Scout looked back at 'new' Medic after a good 5 minutes of being pre-occupied by the bird, seeming to never run out of nonsense to talk about; whatever jokes and one liners to say about the whole thing. At seeing the older man's facial expression, Scout's string of chuckles began slowing down and decreasing in volume until there was silence from both parties. He noted the fact he was looking around and glanced around as well.}

"...Are you alright?" {He shoved his hands in his pockets.} "And with that mumbling I was listenin' to. You're not a newbie? ... And if you were about to see you guess I've never seen you around. You'd be right. Or maybe I just never noticed you I guess..." {Scout cautiously looked at the 'Medic' with a bit more thought. Sometimes those odd looks was sometimes a dangerous look. It meant that a person knew something he didn't. He'd always instinctually check if anyone was armed, in combat or outside of combat, but he'd usually never expect Medics. He guessed that the Gravel Wars had dulled his perception a bit}

{... and that was a shotgun. A kind of shotgun that he's held before. One that he was used to firing. He looked away as if he was looking behind him. He didn't want to startle the guy, or ask questions that he wouldn't want, even if the guy did seem somewhat more quiet than the Medics he was used to. He guessed he shouldn't ask about anything too specific.}

[He snapped out of his silence, realizing the front he now has to play. His heart was on something else, yet his mind tells him to focus ahead. He clears his throat.]

[Socrates finally flies back to its owner, perched on his side, as the doctor does the talking. He was smooth-tongued. Sure, this one was much more mild-mannered than Scout's own Medic. That one was a full on psycho if he sees one, but he couldn't risk being comfortable with the guy. What if he wants his organs too?!]

{Scout smiles sort of warmly. He thought he might like getting to know this armed Medic guy. And it’s been a while since he’s talked to anyone outside of his own team.}

“Nice to meet’cha Doc. I’m the RED team’s Scout.“ {He gestured to himself as if it were obvious.} “Best one around.” {He extended his hand.}

{Scout casually nodded at the apology and waved it off.} “And you’re fine. I’ve met bigger weirdos.” {All the team’s different classes were similar people/clones but had different personalities and these little things about them that made them seem so different from each-other. Maybe this guy was just kind of weird like that. Maybe he just randomly stares into space really awkwardly like Pyro sometimes.}

“And yeah. We haven’t been doin’ much battling stuffs. ‘Despite being mercenaries and everything. Breaks are nice, but I gotta be honest I miss the noise. All that adrenaline is a lot more fun, but as least there’s no respawn, no callin’ for Medic because — you know. I gotta utilise my resources, I can’t leave a trail of blood if I have the intelligence! They’re gonna follow it!” {He sighs.} “Anyway. Yeah. I miss the running and the chasin’. Some of us have been here so long we can’t imagine a life without the Gravel Wars.”
