NG does better in the ratings and earns more money than TMP. People on Tumblr don't talk about NG as much anymore because they ended N/J. But Tumblr is really a pretty insignificant way to measure things. And while some like TMP, many prefer NG. Humor is subjective. S4 of NG has irked some fans, but the critics are largely back on board, and the ratings have held steady. TMP seems safe due to its episode count alone. If it were a competition between the 2 Fox would take NG hands down.
first and foremost: tumblr may not be the main social media to obtain data for tv shows, yes, i agree, but let’s not call it “pretty insignificant” because many fans spend years devoting their art, love and time to tv shows over here. it’s not fair. the fact that not many people on MY dash don’t post new girl stuff might as well be because of Ness’s break up, i don’t know. might be because of the season itself. who’ll ever know, right? but if they did stop because of Ness, is because they were a bit hurt about the way that storyline was handled. nevertheless, this whole Ness thing is subject as well. some people liked, some people didn’t. we have to respect that.i feel like you’re defending new girl as if i attacked the show, which didn’t happened. i expressed my confusion, thoughts and hopes for the show and you so lovingly replied (thank you again - if you are the same anon as in the previous question) those opinions are mine, and mine alone. i’m just a fan as you are. i follow blogs, fan sites, official press press releases and other sources of information. that doesn’t mean i’m right, it’s just my perception about what i’m seeing. my interpretation can be wrong, i’m not afraid to own to that :)if new girl earns more money than TMP, i really couldn’t tell you because i’m not worried about that neither do i work in their merchandising department, but if it does, that’s great, good for them :) and the humor IS subjective, as i stated before, they have different kinds of comedy, you can perceive them as you like. no judgments. either you enjoy them or you don’t, is just that simple. if you think they have the same formula and the same kind of approach, cool. i respect that.season 4 of new girl was uneven but things are working out. the writers picked up the pieces of season 3 and are wrapping up in a solid way. they tied up the loose ends of a few storylines and that was what the show needed, some direction. you can see a lot of critics all over the internet saying things like that, and yes, they are back on board because they’re finishing the season in a solid way. Dana Walden, the chairman for FOX Tv said herself that she feels like new girl is “reinvigorated”, meaning that they found their rhythm again, and that she’s is hopeful for both series.as for if there was ever a choice to be made between new girl and TMP, i really don’t know which one FOX would pick, because they have their own qualities and an unique voice. i love them so much! they speak to us as an young audience and that’s what really matters in the end, that people like you and me can relate to the shows and have a good time watching it. if you relate so well with new girl, i’m happy for you, i really am <3have an amazing day,x
