A little forced perspective, a little photoshop and My Durge is begging Shar for forgiveness. She ended up being my first character I've started playing around in photo mode with.
Got back into BG3 after a while and finished another tav playthrough. Which makea 2 complete tav and 1 durge. And three active ones lol. Anyway, I started playing with the photo mode putting my 3d knowledge and photography skills to use and they are high key cool.
The photo mode does some annoying stuff but a little photoshop and forced perspective and my durge is in the hand of Shar or shining in beams of light or sitting on a camp boulder (that's a nice boulder).
I like them a lot from a dramatic photo and posing like my character is chatting with Gale on the beach, but with my Aamon playthrough I'm thinking of taking pics with a scene where I head canon with my Durge and Jahiera that helps her make some final decisions in act 3.
And I am also doing some art about it. Posting to get back in the game!

When the reveal happened, I laughed for legitimately five fucking minutes
I definitely didn't trust the dream guardian esp the way the dialogue was so vague, but an illithid?? And then you can fuck him later??
My first tav (Kiaro) I played was curious and compassionate, so my dialogue choices weren't harsh even after the reveal. And then Emperor made a move?? And there's a steam achievement?? I was dying of course you can romance him. He should've been at the tiefling party he's so thirsty.
In my several playthroughs I just haven't been able to bring myself to do it. So no 100% this game for me lol
Born in Baldur's Gate she was a soldier turned merc after a betrayal by her best friend and alienation from her family. She doesn't like people with power who use it to control others, so let's say she and a few other companions don't get on 😅 more art and some animation to come
This is based on an expression Vrai had while talking to Gale when he shows the weave. Minor spoilers I guess? But she imagines a nice moment with her family, holding Gale's hand, and then as he gets into it she gets lost in her thoughts as she remembers her family in Baldur's Gate (who she is estranged from). Haha so she gets sad and Gale's like omg! You like me! It was really inspiring tho so here she is
I can't express how much Jill Valentine having the personality of a 60yo grizzled old washed-out detective recovering alcoholic with severe and unmedicated depression means to me. She reads news from real newspapers and grunts. She has a dart board she randomly throws darts at with perfect aim and a tired sigh. She uses old pizza boxes to store important and confidential paperwork. She feeds her leftovers to the alley cat outside her apartment. She has posters of scantily clad women on her wall. Her favourite band is a niche underground rock band based locally. She takes naps on her couch-bed with her work shoes on. She's perfect
I did a durge playthrough as a monk first and now as a durge oath breaker paladin and I really really recommend it. Durge paladin gets more lines specific to a dark urge backstory and a paladin specific character to deliver them.
Literally became my Durge Aamon's love language. Now she wants to hug Astarion! Karlach! and maybe Shadow heart/rest of the gang depending on future choices.
His dialogue in the hug was so beautiful and heart warming it made me tear up.
Two dialogues lines between Gortash and Durge that stood out to me. Spoilers.
Act 3 and when I first heard them I was intrigued.
"we promised to stay out of each other's business".
And
"The people will follow any religion without question".
Seemed to me like Gortash was quoting us back to ourselves! It's how the delivery and overall tone landed with me and then I found more about the Durge/Gortash back story that fed this head cannon of mine.
There is a letter where Durge writes the people will follow any religion and a part of me thinks durge in their own way looks down at their cult as toys and accomplishments with how easy they were to get. And the way the cult supposedly worshipped Durge strongly on their own separated from Bhaal could cause Durge to further to see how mailable people are by worship.
Possible headcanon events based on in game events: Durge was resurrecting the cult before Gortash. G discovered them and makes contact. Maybe at some point Durge could have encouraged Gort in aspects of growing a cult and then again when they began the absolute. Lots of other dynamics that could've been at play if Durge said that to Gortash.
Other line, "we promised to stay out of each other's business." Gortash went out of his way to get in contact with Durge and go on a heist to get back their torture racks. That's starting a relationship by knowing about and offering to help Durge with honoring Bhaal. Very much getting involved in our business.
Gortash and Durge connect over reviving a cult. Gortash and Durge talk about their dreams? (Low key cute) Obvi bc of bhaal and bane and their plans for us, but how that convo happens it fun to think about. Talking in depth about Orin, which is canon, and also Orin saying the Gortash could always get in our head with a few words?? Like hello?
There is so much they could've bonded over and another post I saw pointed out loneliness. Wiki even was like, they were as close to friends that G and D could get!
All that aside, yeah ofc it is a tactic to dispell responsibility for not saving Durge or stopping Orin. But the whole convo Gortash is asking for an alliance, oath, and demonstrating how much he knows about the situation previously with Orin. Again could be explained that as an orchestrator he would make it his business to ensure the plan.
But it really seems based on actual canon and now my head cannon that there was a time when a line had to be drawn. And I think Durge could have said that to Gortash to draw that line.
Something I noticed with the dialogue for companions in Bg3, is that only Karlach and Halsin really ask our Tav about our life and ourselves.

I guess it can make sense in a gaming way, there's no pressure for the players to come up with a Tav backstory. I also know we are asked about our opinions about the tadpole and their individual story lines, but it's an interesting choice that makes them all seem realistic based on their personalities. Who's really curious about us? Says something about the rest *cough cough*
I just love that H and K did! I know I could have missed or not seen other dialogue but anyway it's on me mind
