Healed scars (Wanda Maximoff x Stark! Reader)
A/N: I don’t own any character on this fic, they belong to Marvel.

“Good morning!” You heard Clint greet beside you, and you looked up to find Wanda entering the room. “How’s your brother doing?”
“The doctors said he’ll get better soon.” She answered with a relieved sigh. It seemed that Pietro was recovering quickly, and he would be out of bed-rest real soon.
“That’s really nice.” You cut in, before standing up. “Anyway, I think I’ll go. We can catch up later, Clint.”
“Uh- sure.” He stammered out as they watched you leave.
Since the Maximoff twins joined the team some weeks ago, they made it clear that they hated you and your father. That was something you were already used to; not everyone loves the Starks, after all. So you just didn’t cross their paths, you let them be, evading any type of conflict.
“(Y/N)!” Looking back, you see your father running after you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders when he reaches you and walking to the lab. “There you are! What’s up, kid?”
“Hi dad! Not much, to be honest. I was thinking about working a bit in that project we started together.”
“Well, if you want, I can help you with it?” Tony offered, grinning widely.
“Whatever the pair of you are scheming now can wait. We have an urgent meeting.” Steve cut in, walking past you.
“Do you know what’s happening?” You asked, watching as Tony shrugged before following after the captain.

“Wait, you’re saying that Strucker wasn’t working alone and that someone is going after the twins?” Clint asked, staring at Steve like he was crazy.
“Yes. We need to get them out of the compound. It’s the place they’ll try first.”
“Pietro still can’t move too much. There’s no way he could leave the compound.” Wanda countered, crossing her arms.
“Clint and I can make sure he’ll be fine.” Nat offered, looking at the archer.
“Yeah, we’ll hide in a safehouse until Cap clears the situation.” He confirmed, getting nods of approval.
“What about her?” Tony asked, gesturing to Wanda and ignoring the glare she sent his way.
“(Y/N), you’ll go with Wanda, hide in another safehouse. Make sure everything goes well and keep her safe.”

“Was this really necessary?” Wanda hissed, annoyed, as she took your hand.
“Yeah, unless you want to try being a married couple?”
“Shut it, Stark.” She bit back, glaring at you. You just shrugged as you kept strolling through the nearly empty streets.
You two reached the little store, quickly getting everything you needed. As you paid, the old woman who owned the small shop couldn’t help but say:
“You two look adorable together!”
“Thank you!” You smiled, while Wanda looked down, trying not to scoff.
It didn’t take long until you both reached the apartment you were hiding in.
“What do you want for lunch?” You asked, getting everything out of the bags and setting them on the counter.
“Don’t act like you care, Stark.” She almost barked. “I’ll prepare something when you get out.”
“I do care, you know? You’re part of the team now.”
“Well, I don’t need your-”
“Wait…” You cut her abruptly.
“Why? Don’t want to lis-”
“Shh!” You cautiously approached the window that showed the whole street below, watching as some black SUV’s pulled up near the apartment. “How did they find this place?” You murmured.
“What? They are here?!” The sokovian witch was soon by your side, looking as some Hydra soldiers got out of said vehicles. Wanda started pacing across the room, eyes wide and small red wisps flowing around her fingers. “This can’t be happening, there’s no way…”
“Calm down, this place is well hidden.”
“How can you be so sure?! You don’t know what could happen!” She snapped, and you noticed the red mist kept growing around her.
“Hey, breathe. If you lose control of your powers, they will know we’re here.” Wanda nodded as she took some deep breaths, letting herself slide down the wall and hugging her knees to her chest.
“I don’t want to go back…” She muttered. You kneeled beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder.
“I know. I won’t let them get near you, I promise.” The sokovian girl looked into your (e/c) eyes and frowned.
“I don’t get it.” Wanda blurted out suddenly.
“Don’t get what?” You quizzed, confused.
“All of this! After the way I treated you, why do you even care what happens to me? Why go through all this trouble when you’re not going to get anything out of it?”
“…Because you didn’t deserve any of the things that happened to you, and whilst I can’t change the past, I can damn well make sure it never happens again.” You answered softly. “The Avengers are a family, that means caring about each other. Even if you hate me.”
It was in that moment when Wanda realized her mistakes, making her feel guilty about the things she said to you. That internal debate was clear in the girl’s eyes, and you decided to try and cheer her up.
“Come on, Maximoff. You didn’t really think I was as egocentric as my father, did you?” You joked, smirking a bit and earning a huff from her.
“Oh, shut it Stark!” She laughed lightly.
“There you go. It’s better when you smile, don’t you think?” You teased, earning another small smile from her.
“Of course, don’t mention it.” You replied, offering your hand. “Ready? Let’s get you out of here. I’m sure Speedy misses you.”
“Speedy?” Wanda quirked an eyebrow, amused, as you helped her up.
“Hey, this one was Clint’s idea, I swear!” You bit back, and both of you laughed before focusing on getting back to the compound.

“Welcome back!” Steve greeted as you entered the compound. “Are you two okay?”
“Yeah, don’t worry Cap. Everything went fine.” You answered
“Where’s Pietro?” Wanda asked when she didn’t see her twin.
“He’s back in his room, resting. He’s still healing, after all. I’m sure he’s already awake.” Getting a smile and a soft ‘thanks’, Wanda disappeared down the hallway.
You didn’t see her again until that night, when she joined you in the living room.
“Hey…” Wanda mumbled, coming to a stop once she reached the couch. “Can I sit with you?”
“You know you don’t have to ask, right?” You smiled, patting the empty space beside you. “Is everything okay? How’s Pietro doing?”
“Everything is fine and Pietro is doing well. He’s recovering fast.” She answered, sitting down, though she seemed tense.
“That’s good to hear. And…”
“Look, Wanda, I’m not a mind reader like you, but there’s something that’s clearly bothering you. Everyone here will listen, including me. What’s wrong?” You asked softly, finally catching her full attention.
“I just- I want to say that I’m sorry. For the way I’ve treated you all this time.” Placing a hand on your arm, the brunette continued. “You were just trying to help us adapt and get settled, and I neglected myself to see your good intentions…”
“I’m not going to blame you for that. No one is free from feeling anger, hate or resentment.” Sighing, you added. “ And you had your reasons to feel like that.”
“Doesn’t mean it was the right way of solving it.” She muttered, looking down.
“But you realized it was wrong.” You replied. “Now you know how to act about those feelings, and it’s okay if you still don’t want to be around me.”
“Actually, I um- think we could start over?” The sokovian girl timidly suggested.
“Of course!” Taking her hand, she lightly shook it. “Hi! I’m (Y/N) Stark. A pleasure to meet you, Miss Maximoff.” You said jokingly, making Wanda giggle.
“Thank you.” At your confused expression, she explained. “For all you did for me and my brother. It was really nice, despite the things we said to you and your father.”
“It’s okay. Don’t need to thank me, Wanda.”You smiled again, a gesture that she returned whole-heartedly. “So, friends?”
