Question to daddy.
Sorry if this question is a bit straight forward:
How has the day-to-day diet of your little boy changed and especially how did it affect his digestion and bms?
Asking for a friend 😅🙈
Hi there,
What do you mean "straightforward"? You should know I’ve never had any issue sharing anything about my little guy’s bowel movements! 😉
Well, to answer about the day-to-day diet, we’ve now entered a phase of routine, which is great. It took several months of gradually adding babyfood to his diet and getting him more used to soft food than solids. However, as I shared in previous posts, it is all about finding a balance. I still want him to enjoy eating and above all, I want him to be healthy. So realistically, he cannot only eat babyfood. I’ve always given the example of spaghetti topped with babyfood as a sauce. It is one of many examples that make it work perfectly so that he has enough food to last through the day and doesn’t forget he’s not a big boy. We definitely don’t want that!
One thing is: he cannot rely solely on soft foods because that wouldn’t be good for him. Not biting at all could weaken his jaw and potentially create gum issues one day and I do not want this happening. Once again, balance is key. However, I can certainly say that 80% of his food intake is soft, spoon fed or bottle fed.
I have also started making more homemade babyfood. The pros for this is that it’s very healthy and it means he can eat soft food with no question regarding nutrients, because it is basically what I would eat but blended. Who wants to chew on broccoli anyway? Well… I do, but it’s much better for him to be spoon fed a yummy mashed brocoli bowl. The cons are that it takes time to cook all of this, and I like to think he is gently getting used to the taste of "real" babyfood, so I still like to buy some industrial one and feed it to him regularly.
When it comes to bowel movements, I honestly cannot say if any change I have noticed is due to the babyfood, or just because things change with time, but he does fill his Pamps much more than when I put him back 24/7. At first, he would generally go "boom-boom" once a day or once every two days a couple of years ago, but now goes twice a day almost every day. I don’t think he’s had a single day without a messy Pamp for months.
It seems to me that food passes through his body quicker, but I am no doctor, just a simple daddy 😂.
Though, I would like to point out that he has told me that it was much easier to mess his paddings since we started this 80% soft food diet. Now, is it because of the food, or simply because he got used to being a pamperpacker? I do not know…
All I know is that he for sure is a little stinker!

More kiddos should try the more soft food/baby food diet.
Am a very big fan of it myself 🫣🫣
Just make sure to bring a bib, cosssss for some reason it can end up on faces or clothes very easy 😅🫣
