So since the first four episodes of Future came out, people have been speculating that Steven will leave Beach City at the end of the series, based on the title cards and end credits sequence.

Personally, I think that if that were to happen, it would be a parallel to both of his parents: Rose and Greg ran away from home to escape their families, and neither ever looked back after doing so.  

For Steven, I think the opposite will happen: he will leave Beach City (and his family) behind, but he will do so on good terms, remain in contact with them and visit home semi-regularly.

They’re still a significant part of each other’s lives, he just wants to spend some time away and have his own experiences.
