âI think, my dear, you need to realize there is a vast chasm between ânot strangeâ and âsocially acceptable.ââ Rabastan said, in that signature Lestrange patronizing tone. Heâd done quite a bit of practicing as a child to get it perfect. Rabastan always felt he had to prove he was Lestrange enough. Even now, so far removed by both time and space from his parents. âGenerally, when one is reading, they donât expect a perfect stranger to go on a tirade about matters beyond eitherâs control. It happened. Weâre here. Dwelling wonât change a thing.â
âThatâs a good point, Iâll think on that,â she said earnestly, because really, though she was taken aback she wasnât necessarily effected by his tone. But heâd made a point, though Hannah hoped with a little apologizing it would help the situation. âWell, I do apologize for bothering you -- you just look familiar too.â Which, was true. The more she looked at him the more she realized he was someone sheâd seen before -- though she wasnât sure where, she knew it was somewhere. âIâm not really DWELLING, though. Iâm just....perplexed. Even if I was dwelling, wouldnât it be something to dwell on? Of all things to dwell on? What do you think? Iâm Hannah, by the way.â
WHERE:Â Three Broomsticks
WHEN:Â August 22, 2029
WHO: Luna & Hannah !
Luna Lovegood had practically been raised with conspiracy theories as bedtime stories, and she had grown up believing most of them, still. (Â You see â they explained so much! The reason why so many people were so gloomy most of the time was because there was glumbumble treacle in the tap water, and the reason why everything in the wizarding world kept going amiss was because of the Ministryâs incompetence. No offense, Harry. )Â
And so, naturally, she had her fair share of ideas when it came to this entire ordeal. Theories, some might call them, but Luna thought of them as more: as pieces of an exciting puzzle, bits and pieces of the greater answer. She had surrounded herself with books on time travel and old Quibbler editions and notes from her father on the Rotfang conspiracy while sat at a table in the Three Broomsticks, furiously writing notes in a notebook.
She needed a break, though. A bit of clarity always helped to get her thoughts in order again, and Luna moved over to the bar to order herself an ice cold pumpkin juice. âYou know,â she said after placing her elbows on the counter near someone else. âThe Falmouth Falcons have to be part of this all. Their old captain once shook Fudgeâs hand, and heâs part of it too, of course ââ heâs got a finger in every pie, that one. Itâs one thing to figure out whoâs involved, though, and another to understand motivation â reputation?â She shook her head, finally made eye contact with the person next to her. âSeems too simple, does it not?â
When Hannah was younger, when they both were, she saw Lunaâs conspiracies and thoughts as just another perspective. Though her dad was a bit skeptical, her mother always stressed that it was important to listen, at the very least. There was no harm in it and you never knew what the world had in store -- expect the unexpected because it could very well happen. There was a whimsy in Lunaâs ideas as well, one that Hannah rather enjoyed to see and being around. It was refreshing.Â
âHmm,â Hannah hummed, crossing her arms. Though she wanted to give it serious consideration, she couldnât help but think that the Falmouth Falcons had nothing to do with this. Sure, she had an open mind but it just didnât make sense? Was that all the proof Luna had? That theyâd shook hands? âThen whatâs the Falmouth Falconâs motive in this? Iâm not quite following you there, Luna. Iâm trying, but Iâm not.â She really was trying, her brain starting to think itself in a bit of a tizzy trying to think of the connection it could be. âFudge on the other hand,â her face went from confused to sure, her features relaxing as she sat back in her chair.Â
âI mean, sometimes the most obvious answer is the answer. Seems too simple and easy but itâs true, sometimes,â though, Luna made a point. With all theyâd been through, the years sheâd been with Harry Potter at school, the war theyâd fought, nothing was ever that simple. Thatâs what made this whole ordeal so scary, there were people from years past who were in the middle of a war. Would they bring it with them? The fact that she didnât know was what scared her most. âHave you, er, found out anything about your life? In the future?â
Astoria Greengrass did not worry. At least, not over things like time travel. In her eyes, after everything, life was too short and she could be spending that time having fun and (trying to) enjoying herself. That was her life after her OWLS and it was her lifeâŚor she was trying to make that her life after the war as well. She had spent too much time worrying about what her parents thought, school, and then survival.
Even here, decades past anything she remembers, she wasnât worrying. People kept talking about solutions and how long it would be before everyone was back in their correct timeline, butâŚAstoria wasnât focused on it. That was the Ministryâs problem. Not hers.
However, there was something that kept nagging in the back of her mind. And no amount of alcohol was making the thought disappear. Even in her dreams, it appeared to her. And while she was no inquisitive Ravenclaw, she truly did want some answers. Or at least a face she recognized.
While distracted by the crowds and children running around (she almost wanted to go join them. she already missed the children she was taking care of in 2001), Astoria bumped into someone, spilling her tea everywhere.
â Oh shit! I really am so sorry about that! â She exclaimed while bending down to grab her cup. â HereâŚI know a spell to clean that right up â
Hannah Abbott did worry. Sometimes, it felt like it was ALL she did. It didnât matter how grown up sheâd become ( though, 22 wasnât quite grown up but after all sheâd lived through it felt quite grown up ), it wasnât something she could conquer. Her anxiety consumed her at times, even after years of therapy, it was like it was wired into her DNA -- Hannah Abbott was a worrier.Â
Though, she was not worried when Astoria bumped into and spilled the contents of her tea all over her. Sure, the feeling of warm tea wasnât exactly welcomed but sheâd felt worse, especially when the timeclash first happened. Almost everything changed, she didnât know if it was for the better or worse and it was the uncertainty of it all that made her head spin, it was everything new that both thrilled and terrified her.Â
âOh, itâs really alright, Astoria, weâre lucky weâre wixen.â Even though Astoria had just offered to do a spell to clean the mess up, Hannah still found herself FUSSING with trying to wring out the liquid on her dress. âItâs been a while since Iâve seen you, though! Everythingâs been absolutely mad since the time crash? Timeclash? Not sure what theyâre calling it now.â
Heâd have thought that for most, being flung into the future, torn from their reality, would be a nightmare. But for Dae, a future that was marked by peace was soothing. It was proof all his fears of a third war were simply fears and nothing else. Just more paranoia. So once theyâd found a way to reverse this freak event, Dae could live the next thirty or so years with a little less anxiety. If the Ministry keeps their word and actually fixes this, but Dae is of little faith, especially when they wonât tell the wizard population why the unspeakables have been assigned the job. He hated their secrecy.
He was reminded of his distaste for the Ministry when he set foot in Diagon Alley for the first time in years. Back in 2000, Dae had set up a muggle proof forum for wizards who shared his appreciation for the inventions muggles have created over the years. While it was nice to know his forum was still up and in use to this day, he found that a modified muggle tech shop had opened in the alley and curiosity forced him out the house. But before he finds the shop in question, Dae is stopped by a stack of newspapers with the Ministry plastered all over the front page. The claims of restoring order make his blood boil. âFucking fix things quickly, my ass.â he mutters to himself, but clearly not as quiet as he thought.
The fact that the she was the owner of the Leaky after so many years of working there astounded her, but finding out that sheâd actually made it to Hogwarts and made it through her healer training to be their Matron? Extraordinary. Sure, she apparently was married with several children running around but her actually being able to accomplish her dreams was what stuck with her most. It felt selfish to be so happy about it when she had whole children running around that she shouldâve been happy about but herself as a proper Healer? She couldnât believe sheâd actually done it.Â
âDae! Look at you all out and about, Iâm proud,â Hannah walks up to him with a grin on her face, spreading out her arms before attaching herself to him, going in for a hug. âDid you see they have something called iPhones now?â She knew heâd be fascinated by the different technologies, she knew she could share her feeling of wonder with him. âTheyâve come up with all sorts of stuff I know youâve got to find cool. As much as I want them to fix everything too, how are we going to able to go back? After experiencing all this?â In that moment she could understand why Alice fell down the rabbit hole so easily.Â
Rabastan had been dealing with the reality of being flung decades into the future the way he dealt with most difficult issues: by ignoring it and burying his head in a book. Itâd been working. More or less. Mostly less. Rab staunchly refused to get all the details but apparently, in the future, being a Lestrange no longer held the air of privilege and respectability it did in his time. Deep down, Rab knew he should find out what happened, so he could prevent it, but he didnât want to know. He couldnât stomach it. What if itâd been his fault? Instead, Rab had taken to ignoring anyone who wasnât from his own time.
âThatâs all very interesting,â he said, intonation flat. âBut, you see, I donât care.â
Hannah hadnât meant to go on and on about the subject of time travel to a complete stranger but it was the topic that was most on her mind after what had happened. When heâd been rude though, she was taken aback. Sure, it could be seen as rude that sheâd gone on and on with no regard to his time but that hadnât been her intention. Heâd just been flat out rude.Â
âI didnât mean to bother you. I just feel like weâre in a unique position and a unique time. Thought it might be something to talk about.â Shrugging her shoulders, she put her hands up in a surrender, in the hopes that maybe heâd go easy on her. âI think stranger things have happened than strangers talking to each other, is all.â
The HEART is the toughest part of the body.
        Tenderness is in the hands.
LANA CONDOR? No, thatâs actually HANNAH ABBOTT from the GOLDEN TRIO ERA. You know, the child of LILA ABBOTT (NEĂ MIDDLETON) and DEAN ABBOTT? Only 22 years old, this HUFFLEPUFF alumni works as a MANAGER AT THE LEAKY CAULDRON and is sided with THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX. SHE identifies as a CIS WOMAN and is a HALFBLOOD who is known to be OVERTHINKING, DEPENDENT, and SELFLESS but also LOYAL, ALTRUISTIC, and HARDWORKING. â &&. ( JINX, PST, SHE/THEY, 24. )
TW in the bio for parental death, depression, anxiety
NOTES: i have a very long bio for hannah so i just put post war stuff under the cut!! if you read through the bio youâre a saint and deserve a cookie
after they âwonâ, hannah knew there was more work to be done but just needed a pause. she had aspirations of being healer, sure, but after being around so much death, decay, and grief she needed a break from it. the leaky cauldron had been a place her mother talked about consistently, where her and dean shared their first kiss, where he asked her to marry her, where she told him she was pregnant. that pub had been their place for so long, hannah gravitated towards it, some of the patrons & workers there already having known her mother. they gave her a job as a barmaid, but due to hannahâs hella hardworking nature, sheâs recently become manager. something sheâs proud of and something sheâs quite happy with. not something sheâs looking to do her WHOLE life but itâs good for now.
as for the abbott family  â dean and hannah are now closer than ever, after their mothers death he took a more active role in her life. they have both decided to not adhere to the neutrality of their pureblood predecessors, instead, they decided they were going to do good in the world. the abbott familyâs neutrality would be no more, theyâd no longer be unethically silent & focused on purity.
the best thing about being halfblood to hannah was how much technology & information she had access to. over the years, hannah has done research on the benefits of cannabis ( the best part about the timeclash is all the new information sheâs getting on the subject and how easy it is to access ) sheâs worked on quite a lot of magic herself trying to enhance cannabis, trying to grow it more quickly. sheâs actually growing three different strains right now, one of which she uses for her anxiety as sheâs elected to stop taking potions in favor of it. it works for her, and though itâs not legal in the u.k. sheâs a real big pusher for cannabis reform. this is probably her biggest tie to the muggle world besides her motherâs parents.
hannah loves baking & cooking soups in particular, i have a detailed headcanon on it but she got it from her mother, who loved to make everything she possibly could by hand.
she also loves herbology!!! has since day one!! her mother left her all the work sheâd done, which was extensive considering how much time she had to garden. like i mentioned, sheâs got a garden in her own flat ( one at her childhood home, a v mini greenhouse area in her flat for her cannabis as well ) and on days off when sheâs not with friends, sheâs tending to her gardens, taking pictures, doing some freelance research & finding new ways to incorporate cannabis into her lifestyle. usually sheâs got a plant of the month thing, where she learns ALL she can, seeing if she can plant it, seeing if itâll interact at all with cannabis in a good way.
âitâs cannabis, guys, not pot or marijuana â thatâs what the government calls it to criminalize it & give it a bad rep you poncesâ - said hannah abbott i s2g!
oh HANNAH IS BI BI BI, had her sexual awakening fouth/fifth year!! thatâs the tea!! hannah is so weak for girls tbh. honestly hannah is weak for people! beautiful humans! sheâs so soft in that regard! sheâs also really open about it. sheâll come home from a one night stand smiling, thinking of her and the persons possible future because hannah will never stop dreaming. she will never sacrifice who she is because sheâs fought like hell to get to that point. needless to say, hannah likes to avoid her one night stands because she knows not everyone expects a relationship or anything like that, so sheâs like, gotta keep that distance before i develop a crush!! she does fail sometimes though, smh.
taurus sun, pisces moon, libra rising!! i mean, if you know anything about astrology, youâll see how much sense this makes. but how could hannah NOT be a earth sign though, am i right.Â
currently lives with susan!!! a dream come true!!
lil hannah will drink you under the table! you donât expect it but! 10 shots in sheâs like âis that all youâve got???â while giggling uncontrollably, tbh.
her go to karaoke song is âi wanna dance with somebodyâ by whitney houston.
i just love her, iâm proud of her, sheâs doing great! you go girl!
ON THE TIMECLASH: hannah thought there would be a chance at seeing her mom again which was the most daunting and exciting part about it. unfortunately, as far as she could tell, her mother was nowhere to be found. itâs sort of exciting being in the current time, especially considering all the advancements in cannabis and herbology, but itâs also really throwing her off having children in this verse, having family she doesnât know, being a mother herself.Â
