sleeping or waking, the world was a slippery game: fluid stage sets, drift and echo, reflected light. and all of it sifting like salt between numbed fingers. luna lovegood. twenty one. she/her. ravenclaw. order. sister of the moon. artist, dreamer, friend. a proud oddity.
@ofastcria asked me to grab the book nearest to me, flip to a random page, and use the first line of dialogue I see as a starter
( harry potter & the order of the phoenix )
“No, no --- I’m sure it’s fine.” It wasn’t a rare thing, to catch Luna Lovegood talking to herself in public. Growing up with little company had made her prone to thinking out loud every now and then ( and then, on the other hand, it made her prone to sinking in her thoughts and zoning out for minutes on end, even when in front of others ), and she had never been ashamed of it. And so, as she stood in front of Slug & Jiggers, judging the contents of a bottle filled with Billywig sting slime, she hardly cared that there were others who could hear her. But despite her efforts, she was unable to pass a proper judgement. She needed a second opinion. Eyes moved away from the bottle, and fell on the familiar face belonging to Astoria Greengras. Luna looked at her for a moment before talking a step closer and holding the bottle in front of the other’s face. “Do you think this looks cloudy?”
ah , the quibbler, she’d heard of this a while back, receiving an actual copy of the press not long ago. this was something that didn’t presumably seem, factual. graciously enough, a seldom smile quirks over her features, nodding softly as she took what was offered. “ thank you luna.” lips purse slightly, features distorted as to depict which range of expression would be appropriate, without showing her innate irritability. “ harry, ronald, and i are so gracious of you & your father’s support. for those that do read will hopefully be guided to actually think for themselves. “ a hushed sigh passes pressed lips, looking down at the glass before her.
“ i fear that this is the beginning of a long, exuberant list of tragedies that’s going to change everything. not the mention the rumors that are being passed around. the ministry’s mad because they have no idea what’s going on anymore. that uh —— hang on. “ lithe hands slide her purse over her lap, quickly finding her wand, whispering low enough nobody else would hear her. “ a small charm to keep those who can’t be trusted awry. it’s super helpful when you don’t want to be heard, like when harry & i —— nevermind. “ finally hermione met the blonde girl’s gaze, rolling her shoulders slightly. “ how are you luna, has your holiday been well ? “
“Dad doesn’t write what he does to get in people’s good graces --” Luna’s mind flashed to the hate mail her father received, the way people mocked him, looked down on him, and her face turned sour for the slightest of moments. “-- but rather to tell the truth. I think it’s nice, nonetheless.” A sigh, then. It was frustrating, at times; Luna sometimes felt as if her father, her and the Quibbler’s audience were the only ones willing to see the truth, fully and completely. Other times she supposed it was a power, to see more clearly than others. Something that benefited her. Most of the time, though, she hardly cared what others thought. “If only people looked further, hm?”
Luna felt a bit of warmth spread through her --- Hermione Granger trusted her. As she spoke of her friends and didn’t speak of secrets, she didn’t feel excluded or like an outsider, but more like someone on the sideline, slowly edging closer. “That sounds like a handy charm,” she mused in a distant voice, head drifting off, lost in a world of possibilities, before landing again and remembering what they’d been talking about. “The Ministry has always seemed mad to me, in both senses of the word, of course.” A laugh, a bit misplaced, but still hearty. The laugh dropped from her face quick enough, though. “But it’s different now. I do worry.” Luna fell silent for a moment, considering Hermione’s last question --- that warmth there, again, spreading through her like a warm butterbeer. “Oh, it’s been wonderful. A bit quiet --- dad and I decided not to travel this summer, so I’ve had more time to explore around home.” A smile. There was more, of course; all the things mentioned before ---- the darkening world, the stance of the Quibbler, the unrest in the world building, building, building. ( And yet Luna had found peace, in summer, because that’s what she did best. ) “How has yours been?”
Her face cleared up when she saw the fiery mane of her friend appear among the green of the hills. Ginny Weasley was, if you asked Luna, one of the better people this world had to offer --- a spirit made of fire ( much like her hair ) and a kind heart among all that heat, too. Abandoning her work -- she had been working in the garden, trying to make sure that the Snargaluffs would not maim the rest of the plants -- she got up and started moving towards Ginny, hands still dirty, a smile on her face. The world was growing darker, she knew, and yet --- she felt completely light in that moment. Once she’d reached her friend ( friend! What a word! ), she said, “Hello Ginny.” A pause. “It’s so good to see you.” Another pause --- there was so much to say, from the latest news to all the things she’d done over the summer so far to all the questions she had about the other’s summer. Luna wasn’t sure where to start. “I made some drinks. Want to sit in the garden?” // @sizeisnoguaranteeofpower
House: Ravenclaw
While Luna does show qualities that belong to other houses ( she’s definitely courageous and noble, has a deeply proud streak that often brings her more bad than good, and is a loyal and kind person ), she fits best in Ravenclaw. It’s where she can flourish, where she can feed her endless intrigue with everything around her. I think Luna is a true Ravenclaw, as she uses her sharp mind in most situations she’s in --- I chose innovative as her defining positive trait for a reason; I think Luna is able to look at situations with an unique perspective and because of this, she often brings good solutions and/or insights. She’s an original, incredibly stubborn when it comes to her convictions, and always down to learn.
Wand: Pine wood, unicorn hair core, 14 inches, inflexible.
Pottermore on pine wood: “The straight-grained pine wand always chooses an independent, individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing and perhaps mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively, and unlike some others, will adapt unprotestingly to new methods and spells.” /// This, I think, perfectly fits Luna --- she’s a strong individual, who is definitely an experimental and creative person, both when it comes to magic and other aspects of her life.
I chose an unicorn hair core, because wands with this core struggle to perform Dark Arts -- like Luna -- but are very faithful -- like Luna. Her wand is long, as she’s quite tall and has a strong sense of self, and is inflexible because she’s most often an incredibly stubborn person.
Boggart: Her mother’s death scene --- it’s what scarred Luna most, even if she doesn’t admit that to herself. It’s a memory that startles and shakes her, one that’s been buried down due to the trauma linked to it --- seeing it again, experiencing it again ( especially knowing what the outcome would be, what the long-term effects would be, how much the longing would ache ) would be one of the scariest things for Luna. It could also take the shape of that scene, but with her father in stead of her mother; losing her father is another great fear.
Patronus: The Hare
Pets: None, but then Luna doesn’t really believe in the idea of pets. Animals are their own, after all, and she feels connected to plenty of them. Cats from her housemates, the thestrals, mice running around the hallways; she loves all of them, but none of them are hers. At home, there are often stray animals hanging around --- she and her father tend to them, if they need help, and Luna does sometimes name them ( carefully, though, because what if these creatures have a name of their own already? ).
Moral Alignment: True Neutral. Luna looks at the world with a bit of a distance, at time, and is able to look at situations with objectivity, when she wants to. She’s not apathetic, though, or coldly distant; she just acts without prejudice or compulsion. And more than often, she does do what is morally good ( and she does lean towards being neutral good very much ), but I think that the way she views the world and how she approaches things is more true neutral than anything.
Tarot Card: The Hermit
Goals / Desires: Luna wants to do what fills her heart. Make art. Discover the world. Research magical creatures. Those are all things she would like to do with her future life, but then there’s more --- she wants to do what is right. With a sense of justice -- or, well, more a deep hatred for injustice -- she is motivated to take strides to make the world a little brighter and better.
PHYSICAL:
Height: 178cm / 5′10
Eye Color: Pale grey
Hair Color: Light blonde
Clothing style: Where can I begin? Luna’s style can only be defined by her own person --- I don’t think there’s anyone else who dresses similarly to her, haha. She makes plenty of her own clothes, likes accessories made of unconventional objects, adores a bit of magic in her clothing. She likes colours, especially pastels. When she wears shoes, she likes converse. Mismatched patterns are always good. Flowy dresses? Yes please!
Left handed or Right handed: Left handed
Distinguishing Features: Her hair and eyes.
Tattoos or scars: Usually has some minor scars from animal or branch scratches, that fade easily.
Book: Luna doesn’t like picking favourites, but she really loves her old picture books still, mostly for sentimental reasons & because she likes illustration. She mostly reads non-fiction these days, preferring her own fantasy over fiction.
Movie: N/A -- Luna has never seen a movie, sadly. I think she would love studio Ghibli, though, as well as documentaries ( both nature and more conspiracy theory based ).
Food: Strawberry bavarois
Flower: Lily of the Valley
Season: Spring
Animal: This one is so hard, haha. Luna loves animals! I think she feels especially close to thestrals, but she’s also simple in the sense that she really likes cats and bunnies.
Memory: The summer she and her parents went to Iceland.
THIS OR THAT:
Cats or Dogs: Cats
Mornings or Nights: Mornings
War or Love: Love
Smoke or Drink: Smoke, if it’s weed. Otherwise drink.
Coffee or tea? Tea
Writing or reading? Writing
THOUGHTS:
Death Eaters coming back
Luna is rationally scared and quite frustrated. She also has her fair share of theories on Voldemort’s return ( none that conflict with Harry’s story, though, just ones that fill the gaps ), some more logical than the other. She and her father have had many discussions about these --- like the role Fudge played in it all ( bigger than in reality, of course ) and whether the Death Eaters are using midges to communicate.
Enemies coming back
Luna doesn’t necessarily have enemies that are personal. I suppose she’s not looking forward to seeing her bullies again at Hogwarts, but she doesn’t consider them enemies. As for enemies that aren’t personal, those are mostly the Death Eaters ( as well as the Ministry and a few Quidditch teams ), and for that see above!
Loved ones coming back
Luna thinks she will see her mother again already, but if it were to happen now, she would be incredibly surprised and more than happy --- she’d be euphoric. And confused, and very lost, but mostly just incredibly happy.
Love At First Sight
Luna thinks that love exists in an infinite amount of ways, so love at first sight as well.
One True Love / Someone You Will Always Love
She will always love her father --- it’s an unconditional love, and if we look at his canon future and how he ends up selling out her friends, that is something she will forgive him for.
QUESTIONS:
What is their family history like? How does it affect them? How do they feel about their family? How does their family feel about them?
Pandora was born to a muggle and a witch, and raised by her father alone. And, being able to see the magical world through her father’s muggle eyes, she grew interested in the limits of magic from a young age. She began experimenting with charms early on, and met Xenophilius at Hogwarts, where they bonded over their love for the unknown and their willingness. Xenophilius comes from the Lovegood family, of course, which has always been a tad eccentric, though never as eccentric as he himself.
Luna was born to this set of openminded parents, and it was exactly what she needed to flourish. Her own mind has always been open, but she was able to dream outside the lines with her parents. Growing up was a world of opportunity --- no questions unanswered, no desires unfulfilled. Luna got to paint and run and discover from a young age, and was a perfect mix of her two parents, with some of her own qualities mixed in.
Luna is extremely proud of her family. She sometimes pities others, for having parents that restrict them, keep them from all that she did get to do. When people speak ill of her father -- who is a somewhat public figure, and often painted as a crazy conspiracy theorist -- she gets uncharacteristically fiery and angry, and will lash out. Her mother, she is proud of as well, but it’s more complicated than that --- and luckily, people don’t bring her up as often as her father.
Of course, a big part of her family history is her mother’s death --- it was a turning point in the way Luna’s homelife functioned. In the years after Pandora died, her father grew codependent on her ( which is not how it should be --- and Luna vaguely knows this, but doesn’t feel any anger over it ), but on the other hand the two grew incredibly close as well. But Luna worries about her father when she’s not near, as he’s of the opinion that tasks like eating, washing and sleeping are meaningless in the grand scheme of things, a waste of time when there’s so many more pressing and interesting things to do --- and it’s Luna who often was the one to remind him that, dad, you’re a human being despite it all.
And then her mother, her mother is just a massive gap. And yes, Luna believes that she will see her again, that she isn’t truly lost ------ but that doesn’t ease the waiting, the longing, the aching. Her mother’s death left her with mental scars and a hole in her soul and while there’s plenty of beautiful and comforting things she can say about death, it doesn’t change that. Her mother still died, and she’s not there --- and she will be there one day again, yes, but sometimes Luna just wants her mother now.
Who were their first love and do they feel the same now as they did then?
Luna hasn’t really been in love yet, I think. She has had crushes, but she’s never been in love with someone, has never had a connection that deep --- it’s just flings and crushes, connections that lasted just a night, a week, a month at most. She doesn’t mind.
Do they believe that a person can redeem themselves from mistakes of the past?
Yes, in most situations --- I think even Luna, an eternal optimist, draws a line here with people like Voldemort and the Lestranges, for example. She does believe in people’s strength to do good and does believe that there’s almost always a way to make up for ones mistakes --- but of course, there are things that are inexcusable. Luna is able to be very unforgiving, though, so sometimes it does take a lot for someone to redeem themselves in her head.
What scares them?
Losing her father. The war. Complete silence.
How do they feel about death? Have they been significantly affected by it?
On one hand, death is just another mystery --- and Luna does love mystery and life’s bigger ones. It’s a mystery she can’t solve, though, and sometimes she’s at peace with the fact that she can’t have all the answers. Other times, she’s just incredibly frustrated and angry, because death took her mother away from her and there’s nothing mysterious about that --- she’s just gone. One day she will see her again, that she is sure of, but right now she’s a young woman who grew up without a mother and that’s just painful. That just hurts. And that’s definitive.
Luna has seen death, and that has affected her deeply. Seeing her mother die at age nine was a traumatic experience that still haunts her -- despite her denial about this -- and it’s triggered her to dissociate from the world around her and herself quite a lot. On another hand, it has given her a bit of wisdom and insight, an ability to understand death perhaps a bit better than others do -- or at least give it her own interpretation.
Pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth. If your character was a seven deadly sin, what would they be and why?
Pride, with anger on the second place. Luna is incredibly proud and can be, because of this, very inflexible. Yes, she is openminded, but when it comes to her beliefs and convictions, she won’t change her mind unless there’s solid proof. When people question her, she doesn’t reflect on her beliefs, but rather thinks that they’re narrow minded and limited. When it comes to her father, she’s quite prideful as well --- she holds him and his work in high regard and if someone dares insult this, she will becoming steely and hard
Do they believe Voldemort is back ?
Yes. Why shouldn’t she? When Harry came out of that maze and spoke those words, it was clear that he spoke nothing short of the truth, and you will never find Luna believing the Daily Prophet over someone like Harry Potter. It’s not a truth she likes, but it’s clear to her that it is the truth, and she won’t shy away from that.
PICK THREE:
Lyrics that describes your character best
-- Runaway by AURORA ( the whole song, tbh ) ------ I was painting a picture / the picture was a painting of you and / for a moment I thought you were there / but again, it wasn't true / and all this time I have been lying / oh, lying in secret to myself / i've been putting sorrow on the forest plains
-- Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac ------ she is like a cat in the dark and then / she is the darkness / she rules her life like a fine skylark and when / the sky is starless
-- The Wind by PJ Harvey ( I chose this song for her app more for atmosphere reasons than lyrics, but I wanted to add it still ) ----- Catherine liked high places / high up, high up on the hills / a place for making noises / like whales / noises like the whales / here she built a chapel / with her image / an image on the wall a place where she could rest and / and a place where she could wash / and listen to the wind blowing
Quotes that your character lives by
-- “The knowledge of all things is possible” --- Leonardo da Vinci
-- “There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the passion of life.” --- Federico Fellini
-- “Dwell on the beauty of life. Watch the stars, and see yourself running with them.” --- Marcus Aurelius
Fictional characters that your character can relate to
Allison Dufresnes from The Little Friend by Donna Tartt. --- All of the quotes on my blog are quotes about her --- she just really reminds me of Luna in a lot of ways. Both of them saw a family member die at a young age and both of them were damaged by it. Both of them deal with dissociation because of their trauma, have trouble with communicating with people at times and are described as a dreamy, soft, vague. They also both have a soft spot for animals.
Orla McCool from Derry Girls. --- Orla just ... screams Luna. Both have convictions that others think of as wacky, naive or just downright nonsensical, both make incredibly out-of-the-blue comments that do, somehow, make sense. They’re both a bit ignorant of social cues and don’t have much of a filter. But they aren’t just similar in that sense, they’re also both very loyal friends. ALSO when Orla danced with her grandpa? That’s Luna and Xeno. Spot on. “Protestants hate ABBA.” -- Orla. “Purebloods hate ABBA.” -- Luna. I’m just SAYING.
Phoebe Buffay from FRIENDS. --- I feel less passionately about this one than the two above, but I just think that Phoebes role in the group of friends really mirrors that of Luna in the dynamic of her ( future ) group of friends. Phoebe’s optimism, creativity and straightforwardness are also things she has in common with Luna, and honestly? I could see Luna writing a song like smelly cat.
People who have changed your character’s life immensely
I think her parents have had a massive impact on Luna --- they allowed her to flourish, to grow, to develop her passions and beliefs and convictions. Because of the freedom she was given as a child, she’s been able to grow into who she is now. Her mother’s death, of course, has impacted her life greatly as well.
Ginny is also on this list, I think, as one of her first friends. :’)
@weaselyrn asked me to use a line from my favorite TV show as a starter
( killing eve )
“I once saw a rat drink from a bottle of butterbeer there. Both hands,” said Luna, eyes dreamily fixed on a shady nook on the street, a smile curling her lips slightly, as if she enjoyed the memory. “Extraordinary.” She found Diagon Alley overwhelming most dats --- it was like Hogwarts, but somehow more chaotic, with less quiet places. And so Luna preferred to focus on the details, take in the city around her bit by bit by bit. Besides, one tended to see more interesting things when observing the world like that, Luna had found --- things like skilled vermin, for example.
Eyes tore away from the street and met Ron’s. “You had a rat,” she stated. It wasn’t a question, because while Luna didn’t know too much about Ron Weasley, she had once registered that fact and never let it go. ( Sometimes she thought that her mind was just a combination of remembered facts and pieces and nothing more. ) “Did he do the same?”
“ imagine —– ” a alamort breath softly seeps past plush tiers, a steady form of rage scouring the rim of her unfocused russet hues, “ being that incredulously daft to think that —- ” another breath, this time shorter, “ sirius had anything to do with the impending release of lestrange is beyond any pardonable act of cognize. ” slender digits crease the paper in her grip, slamming it down against the bar with full animosity of force. the ministry at this point was far and few between of a ship wreck and outbreak. every last turn felt like an endless maze of misconstruction and inadequate safety measures. and if anyone were to ask her opinion, surely nothing good would come of it. a single digit raised, offering a fearless stare towards the bar attendant. “ and they won’t listen to harry, even ostracizing him completely after what he went through —– after cedric. ”
even saying his name hurt. the surrounding muscles of her throat seized, growing taught with the difficulty of breath. even though they weren’t close, there was something stiflingly strong with camaraderie within the whole of hogwarts. whether they want to or not, cedric’s death bears more of a loss than anyone could ever really realize. and the ministry was making an absolute mockery of it by defiling his death in headlines of an accident. heavy lids shutter, taking a sip of the gin before, swallowing thick to help loosen herself. “ the sooner everyone is back at hogwarts, the better. ”
Her eyes -- which were usually already quite big and round -- grew wider at Hermione’s outburst, though not in judgement or surprise. She knew about Hermione Granger’s fierceness, and had long ago decided she liked that about her ( not that she’d told the other about that as of yet ). So Luna listened, eyes wide with intrigue, lips sealed together until Hermione was done. Not because it seemed best not to interrupt -- which was definitely true as well, but not something Luna considered -- but because she was curious to hear what she had to say.
“The public believing the lies the Prophet writes should come as no surprise,” she said airily. “That’s been happening for years, after all -- since the paper started, I’m sure. I do think it might have something to do with people’s heads being a bit fuzzy -- maybe because of wrackspurts, but I’m not entirely sure -- because it is rather daft, to believe the nonsense those editors write.” A pause. Luna realised that if she didn’t stop, she’d end up discussing the shady history of the Prophet in a long rant, forgetting the more pressing issues Hermione had brought up. “It is quite terrible, the way they write about Harry Potter. I do believe him, of course. And then what they wrote about Sirius Black is nonsensical as well, of course. Haven’t you heard the latest news on him, and his innocence?” Luna didn’t wait for an answer, rummaging through her bag and producing the latest edition of the Quibbler. “It’s all in here.”

HEYO – just a little heads up that there’s some triggers in here ( mainly death, trauma and dissociation ) but i will trigger warn them at every bulletpoint they come up in. also hi!!! i’m mar and this is my daughter luna eeek.
backstory
the first nine years of luna’s life were nothing short of happy. growing up with free minded parents --- a mother who invented spells and who dared to expand possibility and a father who wrote about things others thought untrue and silly without ever doubting them --- was a carefree ordeal. if luna wanted to paint on the walls, she was given supplies. if she had a question, she got all the answers she needed. her home twisted and curled and twirled and luna danced herself dizzy while skipping stairs, ran through the grass around her home until all the colours started to bleed. she grew radishes and plums and potatoes in her backyard, listened to her father’s teachings and her mother’s advice, wrote stories and read more. life was good, carefree, an ideal world to grow up in.
DEATH TW, TRAUMA TW / and then, at nine years old, her mother died. luna watched a spell backfire, saw a flash, heard a bang, and then she was hammering on her mother’s chest, screaming for her father to come help, screaming at her mother to wake up. death happened both incredibly quickly and slowly, and luna didn’t understand what was happening, except for one thing: her mother was gone, one way or another.
luna didn’t know what to do with this sudden loss, with this gap, with the memories of a flash and a bang. she grew quiet and good at being on her own, and started painting more and more. she combated flashbacks during the day, only to have them at night as she slept. she clung to the idea that her mother would return one day ( which she still believes ), but it was taking so long --- every day she would wake up and her mother would still be gone.
luna was traumatised, but it would take years for her to figure it out. the years before she left for hogwarts were hard. she was lonely, in a different way that she would be once she arrived at school. her dynamic with her father shifted. luna learned how to look after herself. she made herself cups of warm milk when she couldn’t sleep and cooked her father dinner and tried to understand what death was, exactly. no books answered her questions. her father couldn’t, either. death was inexplicable, and that was frustrating, because there seemed to be an answer to everything, especially in her world. END OF TWS
luna came out as trans when she was ten to her father, and he took her hands and didn’t let go all the way through. he didn’t question her. he accepted her, because that was what he had always done, and he found options and steps to take and listened, listened, listened.
luna loves her father. so much. she always has, always will.
she was homeschooled in her teen years, spending time on her father’s side, helping him with the quibbler, and spending more time on her own, reading books and exploring her tiny world step by step. luna lived quite an isolated life, in all honesty, but she didn’t mind? she didn’t really feel lonely, or even knew what that would feel like. there was her dad, and the stray animals that were always around, and sometimes friends of her dad, and no, maybe not a lot of people her age --- but she didn’t mind. i want to link this quote from it because it just! rly reminds me of this.
luna left for hogwarts, both scared and worried for her father ( now all alone in their tall home ) and excited for all the opportunity that was waiting for her there. luna was sorted into ravenclaw very quickly, the hat barely taking any time, and a new chapter began. she noticed that she was odd — or, actually, other people noticed that she was and told it to her, and she shrugged her shoulders and kept moving on. luna was somewhat reclusive, or at least used to being on her own. she did learn what loneliness was, then, but she still didnt see a reason to befriend people who looked down on her beliefs. she didn’t mind being called loony, but when her belongings started to disappear, she grew angry, deep down. she let most comments and acts of cruelty slide off her back, but when a bad word was muttered about her father ( who she already worried so so much about ), she was prone to explosion.
so luna stuck to herself, her guns and her beliefs. she devoured books and walked the hogwarts grounds and connected to a few people here and there. luna’s skin grew thicker. she grew prouder.
regarding the triwizard tournament & currently
after harry returned from the maze with cedric, luna spent no time doubting his words. she saw what she saw, and the prophet and ministry are doing what they’ve always done: they lie. that’s something she’s known all her life ( thanks xeno! ) and something that’s just being reaffirmed.
DISSOCIATION TW / it’s scary, though, this reality --- but luna feels an urgency for what seems like the first time in years. ever since her mother’s death, luna has felt a disconnection. to herself. to the world. everything feels like a hazy dream much too often, and it’s something that she’s never really been aware of, but it’s kept her from engaging. from being more present. it’s protected her from the trauma that’s still haunting her head. this war, it both triggers her dissociation and seems to dissolve it. whereas before, she seemed to be stuck in a constant haze, she now goes in and out of it. it’s making her aware of what’s going on in her head, but it’s mostly making her aware of the world around her.
this is what pushes her to join the order. to join the fight. luna feels an urgency, and she’s angry, because injustice is something that enrages her. she’s scared and angry and feels so fucking alive, and it’s strange, that it takes this for her to feel less lonely and more alive. END OF TW

“You know you can’t just convince me that something’s real without truth, right? I don’t like to brag, but I did inherit a lot from my father personality-wise, and I’m not going to believe something you say just because you say it. I need proof. Explanations. I do love your earrings, though!”
“Convince me that it’s not real, then,” says Luna airily. It’s not the first time she’s used this retort, and it won’t be the last. She’s used to not being believed --- it’s what happens when a society relies on the ignorance of people. “Proof me that I’m wrong. ” She smiles, then. “I inherited some of my father’s personality too. And thank you; I made them myself.”
