abbyxthexdestroyerâ:
More like a mental break considering Tia was driving Abby fuckinâ insane. They barely had time to exhale, spinning back around to face her.
âSure, I donât feckinâ care, get angry! Give me something to work with!â When she stepped closer all they could offer was a blink of disbelief, âOh?â followed closely by a laugh, taking their own step forward. If she wanted to get into their face, theyâd get into hers, âOh. Iâm sorry. You say that like you werenât going to kill my vessel. Remember that? He was havinâ a nice walk thinkinâ about if he was going to order in for dinner when I showed up â And dâyouâknow what? I happen to like the void, Tia. Itâs MINE. At least it was mine. Now everythingâs fucked. Do you think Iâd be up here if I didnât have to be? So go on then. Do it. Send me wherever you fucking want, Death. Do us all a favor.â
Abby didnât like how they were speaking to her either but they were just so frustrated (more at the situation than Tia if they were honest with themself). Forgive them with being blessed with a knack for destruction. âYou name a place worse than right here under this goddamn tree.â
They took a drag. Accepting whatever venom she wanted to throw their way. It was deserved.
âYeah, well. âSuppose Iâm pretty shit at making sense. Iâm good at breaking things, Tia. Iâm good at demolition. Thatâs it. Youâre right: the prospect of us â of me forming anythinâ is laughable. I donât do Earth. I donât do human emotion. I donât do this. Dunno why I thought Iâd come up this time and âtry it outâ â feckinâ hell. What a useless waste of both our time, sorry.âÂ
She rolled her eyes. They were being so dramatic about the void, it was almost like they wanted the two of them to fight. Tia was already over this conversation⊠It wasnât really something she did much, argue.Â
The horseman shook her head and let out a small laugh. âThis is ridiculous, Abaddon. If you donât do Earth why are you still here, huh?â She asked them. âYou came all this way here⊠You had to know the vessel you were jumping into would be near meâŠâ She realized how stupid it all sounded. Tia groaned in frustration, took a step back, crossed her arms and glanced down at her shoes. âYou know what. Go. Go back to the void⊠Youâll be happier there. Itâs where Iâm not and where⊠like you said, is yours. Nothing confusing about it there. No emotions. JustâŠâ She tried to come up with something witty to say but nothing came.Â
She noticed then that her face had become wet. Slowly, she reached up with her hand and patted the side of it. There were tears. âOh great, now youâve made Mavis cry. Good job, Abaddon. Iâm never going to hear the end of this.â She muttered.Â
They had different ways of dealing with things; Tia found solace inward, Abby exploded outward, ripping into whatever was around.
âRight. At this point, if I could I would, Tia. But Iâve made an agreement with Lucifer I have to follow through on. â And maybe I did. Maybe I thought it was important you were the first to know. Maybe... I thought in some ridiculous, conflated way this was an opportunity to get to know you better. But we obviously do best when we donât talk.â
They had looked away a while ago, reducing their frustration to a simmer. âJust what?â Turning to look at her again they were not expecting tears. ââ Fuck me. â Tia donât...â but it was too late wasnât it? A heavy exhale, free hand raising to push hair off of their forehead. They paced backwards when she did, âThis is all... Itâs stupid â not you.â Pinching the bridge of their nose, pivoting to look at her again. âMe. I just wanted to talk to you, instead all I managed was to make you cry.â A bitter laugh, hissing to themself, âBrilliant.â Staring up at the sky for a moment, âIâm sorry I canât speak to you like a normal feckinâ person. Iâm sorry I made you cry. Iâm sorry youâre stuck with me and not... I didnât mean for any of this to happen. For what itâs fucking worth.â Not much, Abbyâd guess, âDâyou know the whole âtheyâre mean to you because they like youâ bullshit? Itâs crap. Itâs feckinâ nonsense.â Instead of flicking their cigarette butt Abby let it incinerate between their fingers. âIâm just shit at being anythinâ other than an asshole. Which...â letting the ash fall between their fingers, âYou donât deserve. So.â
