My muse is asleep. How does your muse wake mine up?

When Emerald realizes she’s in a place with mostly humans she sometimes shifts into her Lupus form in order to draw less attention, the problem is she’s a big wolf looking thing, the roughly the size of fully grown grizzly bear on earth. So this idiot is like “Yep just a grizzly bear sized Wolf when sitting, completely normal. Ignore the glowing eyes, whip-like tail, spikes running down my spine and claws. This is what an earth wolf looks like right?”
i have a PhD in getting myself into really bad situations
I’ve destroyed. I’ve murdered. I’ve burned. I am the monster they warn about.
even monsters have something they want to protect. and they’d kill to keep them safe.

@abeastfromthedeep || time skip in where we left off of.
The choice between a hot shower, or a bath had been difficult to begin with on the night before – but she opted the latter, considering how it’s been too long since she had the luxury of relaxation. Not standing under the shower head, putting up with the cold water and constantly looking over her shoulder in case danger lurked within the shadows. Her weapon would be close by, waiting to be used if necessary. Even though the bath tub wasn’t the fancy type where you could lay your back against the slanted tub wall, it felt like heaven to enjoy the hot water and just being able to close her eyes. Clear the mind of her silent torment.
Slumber, on the other hand, was not that easy to catch. For the first few hours of the evening, she had tossed and turned. Mostly afraid to sleep, because of the possibility of being blindsided by nightmares and losing control to the telekinetic energy the virus would use to it’s advantage.
Exhaustion did eventually catch up, and knocked her out. The comfort of a real bed with clean pillows and sheets helped with that. It’s like the world never ended and she was on vacation at the beach. It was so good to be true, that when she woke up the next morning… she already forgot the fact she was in another world. Where infection did not exist.
Her eyes fluttered open, only to be blinded by sunlight spilling through the gaps of the blinds, and she gave a soft groan – bringing a hand up to shield her eyes. She took a few moments to blink the sleep out of her eyes, before sitting up and moved her legs to drape over the edge of the bed. Propping her forearms on her legs, she let her head hang for a moment and released a yawn. Her eyes then stared down at the floor for a moment, while her brain processed her surroundings and the fact she did not have a single nightmare.
“…This has to be a dream.” She muttered quietly to herself. She even glanced down at herself, just to see what clothes she was wearing. They were the same from the day before, the usual black top and tight pants. Her boots were by the door. With a quiet sigh, she then stood up from the bed and stretched, making a noise of contentment. Her eyes were back on the window again, and she squinted through the bright sunlight as she walked over to it slowly.
As she gripped the cord of the blinds, she readied herself… just in case there was a disaster waiting to greet her.
But the sight outside of the window was as perfect the hot bath was, and the slumber void of gruesome flashbacks from her tragic past – when she pulled on the cord and opened the blinds fully. It was then she remembered the ethereal glow of the Spectrum Deer yesterday, and Alice couldn’t help but give a breathless laugh.
Shaking her head, still unable to believe all of this was real – she turned away from the window and moved over to the round table where she had left her weapons. It was then she noticed a piece of paper, a note from Emerald explaining that she was in the room next to hers and to come see her when she’s ready. She took a few minutes to use the restroom first, then get her boots on and do the usual routine of strapping her weapons back around her thighs. Waist, and around her torso.
Once she left the room, stepping back out in the new reality – she set course to the next room where Emerald said she’d be in, and gave a few firm knocks on the door. She then turned away to take in the view once more, savouring all of this almost as if it’d be the last time she gets to see life in it’s prime.
The previous day’s encounters had been interesting to say the very least. Emerald had dropped this new interdimensional traveler in her new room, leaving her a note that she could read in the morning once she had a good night’s rest. Emerald’s own night, on the other hand, was spent going through files and occasionally grabbing moments of fitful sleep. Oddly enough though, thanks to the motel’s thin walls, she was able to hear Alice’s activities in the next room and once she had settled down for sleep, Emerald had actually managed to sleep for an hour or two as well. Only to jerk awake and look around the room in a sheer panic, wondering what had just come over her. It wasn’t safe to sleep long, she had to stay aware. Instinctively she knew it was the early hours of dawn, and she knew she’d have to give a report to the Informants. Going over to her backpack she took out the Holo-Globe and pressed her hand on it, watching it light up in a brilliant yellow light, only for it to turn blueish silver. She placed two cylindrical listening devices in her ear and winced as it extended a small wire out of itself to latch onto the top of her each ear. Her line with the informants was open and she had to give her report. ~~~ What had been interesting was the reaction of the Informants upon receiving her report, once she had locked herself in the “safety” of her room. It was a matter of sweeping the room for listening devices and putting the override bug on the front door, which put a glowing shield around it for the duration of the call. It was shaped like one of hundreds of toy insects Animus children collected, meaning most wouldn’t pay it any mind even if it was left out in the open. The Holo-Globe had floated in the air, silent as the blue silvery light exclusive to the informants’ channel glowed iridescently like the Spectral Deer had hours before arriving at the Crow’s Head Motel. “Miss Almdal?” The orb finally announced, the distorted voice of the Informants, sounded off in her ears. Emerald let out a grunt, rubbing her pointed ear, In slight discomfort. Blue eyes glared at the orb, waiting for the next reply and assault on her ears. This damn frequency they use for “safety reasons” was piercing whenever they used it, and while she doubted that it caused hearing loss, because that’d hurt their mission, she knew that it sometimes hurt like hell when they made loud declarations in it.
“Yeah what?” She asked them, holding back a growl that rumbled within her chest.
“We have a file on your new companion and wanted to notify you of our findings as well as your further mission objectives with her. Can we proceed?” The voice asked, nonplussed by any perceived anger it may have detected in Emerald’s voice. “Go ahead.” Emerald told them, crossing her legs in the handmade wooden chair that was in her motel room. She glanced outside the blinds and noticed her bike was still outside the room, right where she parked it. Yet, she always had to check. She stole that bike, so it’d only make sense for someone to try to steal it right back. “Your companion is from another worl-” They started “Yeah, fucking gathered that when she came through the big ass hole in time and space, tell me something I don’t know.” Emerald rolled her eyes, her elbow placed on the table with her head resting in her open palm. “To me it sounded like her whole world was broken, like how Earth Prime was fucked by the Ice Cap Wars. Except the big difference is they didn’t have space to turn to. So let’s cut to the chase, what do you want me to do with her here?” “Have her assist on your upcoming assignments, there’s been sightings of the more dangerous experiments and we think she’d be an asset to you.” The voice replied, as if it was the most obvious answer in the world. “Yeah no.” Emerald told them. “Miss Almdal, that’s an order, you need her. We’ll send your coordinates for today’s assignment.” And with that, the lights from the globe disappeared and returned to its pulsing yellow color. Emerald ripped the listening devices out of her ears with a wince and a snarl, tempted to throw the device against the wall but thought better of it, shoving it back in her backpack. Frustration boiled through Emerald’s blood, only cooling when she hopped into the shower and allowed the boiling water to scorch her skin. She pressed her hand up against the wall of the shower, taking deep breaths, each exhale a deeper growl. This was not what she had wanted, Alice didn’t need to be on assignments with her, that was her job. What the hell were they thinking, sending a human against those things. Not that she thought Alice couldn’t handle herself, Emerald was sure that she could but she didn’t want her up against those things. The Informants knew the only thing that could kill a monster was a monster.
Why else would they send Emerald? Emerald stepped out of the shower and felt the water immediately absorb into her skin, the oxygen from it flowing into her lungs. She slung on her white T-shirt with the crimson “paint” stains on it, pants, boots, but paused at the tattered orange scarf that was slung over the sink, she ran her finger over it for a moment before she tied it on her upper bicep, slinging her jacket on over it. Which she did just in time because it sounded like someone was knocking at her door. With long strides, Emerald walked over to the entrance of her room, slinging her backpack over her shoulder and stepping up to her door, opening it wide. She was greeted with the sight of Alice and the mid-morning sun, as well as the ancient forest sounding off its early morning sounds in the distance. Pointed ears twitched at that, part of her instincts wanting to hunt, but she figured Alice would want normal people food caught the normal person way. Or she could just ask her, yeah that’d work. “Mornin’ sunshine.” Emerald gave Alice a full fanged grin, leaning up against the doorframe “Wanna go out for something to eat or do ya want something caught fresh? I’m giving ya both options!”
“Can’t sleep either?”
“That obvious?” Lyth hadn’t meant to wake Emerald if she had - she was… just used to going downstairs and putting on some tea to help her sleep later. The warmth from the mug helped, as did the act of keeping her hands busy. “Sorry- I didn’t wake you, did I?”
Emerald’s heavy footfalls thudded as she took every step, looking at Lyth with bleary eyes. Her own heavy bags under her eyes spoke of her lack of sleep and they were a lot deeper the past few days than they had been previously. She blew a strand of white hair out of her eyes as she stepped toward Lyth, wrapping a strong arm around her shoulders. “Can’t wake up an asshole that’s already awake.” Emerald joked, giving Lyth’s should a squeeze. Another one of her wolfish grins spread across her face but it fell shorter than normal, leaving Emerald to lean into Lyth. “And Yeah it is obvious. You don’t usually miss that often in combat practice.”

A (late) commission for my awesome friend hoelatthesea, this time of her character Emerald! I hope you like it! :DD
Another wonderful piece of art done by the glorious cptbeeart. I saved Emerald for last and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
If we ever get to the post-apocalyptic era, I hope everyone dresses like this. Hot damn.

I have reblogged these before but I still like them. Especially bottom left.
So this is Emerald’s new artwork, a reference to what she looks like now. Just a few differences while showing off that she’s built like she can kill a man in a single punch.
