she lied.
after everything else that has happened the only thing that sinks in the deepest is that alice had lied. this whole time rain was meant to believe they were new friends, or lovers or whatever the hell they hadn’t put a label on, when in fact alice had known her before; had been there when she had died -- or well, almost died. the train’s explosion still haunted her dreams at night but the former umbrella soldier didn’t remember anything from before, only that she had woke up in a lab somewhere & escaped with only the clothes on her back.
her fists are curled at her sides & she’s staring long & hard at the taller woman, nostrils flaring & anger boiling. “ you fucking bitch. “ she snarls, “ when were you going to tell me, huh? or were you jut going to conveniently neglect to tell me about raccoon city? “
yet as she marches closer, every fiber of muscle coiled to swing with a closed fist she’s instead grabbing a collar & shoving alice back, “ why didn’t you say anything? was i not important? “ more sinks in & her shock becomes accusation, “ you just left me there to die. i thought you fucking cared, alice. “ another shove, then another & alice is against a wall & rain closes in until they’re inches apart. dark eyes take in the face of the woman in front of her & while her anger does not dissipate, something else fills her chest. & instead of a fist, rain lurches forward to kiss her, hard, taking her lip between teeth & nipping until blood is drawn -- there is no guilt as her grip turns harsh, needy; for what? rain isn’t quite sure. all she knows is this passionate, fiery thing that overwhelms rational thought. all there is now is alice, & rain needing an outlet for this anger coiling inside.
