“You counter despair with HOPE. You strive forever for the BEST you are capable to be! Therein lies the VICTORY!“
Once upon a time
Born to an ancient line of African priestesses, Ororo’s first months were spent in Manhattan before she moved with her parents to Cairo. At the age of five, a plane crash destroyed the Munroes home. Ororo’s parents were killed and she barely survived, buried under rubble near her mother’s body. The trauma resulting from this event left Ororo with severe claustrophobia that still affects her nowadays. When she managed to escape, Ororo was adopted by a thief master called Achmed El Gibar, who trained her in the arts of thievery. She proved herself to be skilled at it. As she was robbing an American tourist who was no other than Charles Xavier, she used the unexpected turn out to escape and wander out of Caira with a new found freedom. During her travels, Ororo came to kill a man to defend herself from being raped and swore to never take another human life again.
Found in the desert by T’challa, she eventually ended up in Kenya , where she was taught to be responsible with her powers and believed to be a goddess by the local tribes. The young woman eventually was contacted by the same man she had robbed years before as a child. He offered her a chance to help the world. Curious Ororo accepted and grew up to become the mutant now known as Storm. With the help of Jean, she learned about the customs of the modern world and eventually became an X-men herself and later a teacher at the Xavier school. During the attacks of New York, she stood side by side with her colleagues to protect the school. She hid the school from sight by creating a thick fog around it.
Key to success
Ororo found a way to deal with the guilt she carried from the events of the invasion. She threw herself deeper into teaching at the Institute, focusing on helping her students the best way she could. Despite what she saw of the footage, she did not blame Logan for his part. She would always stand by him, no matter what. She was even the first to stand up for him during the aftermath. Ororo signed the SHPA in order to keep the piece and help prove to the public that not all mutants are bad people.
