It was hard to not focus on her or this voice, it made Betsy deeply sigh. She had to prioritize, so she did and switched most of her powers to her telekinesis. However the "you have a minute" made her mentally swear in return. Those people will never be safe in only one minute. She had to change her strategy and be quick. Flying over the boat, Betsy telepathically located the sailors and quickly grabbed them to better drop them on a telekinetic surface. Once done, barely in time, Betsy finally let the boat go and breathed out while starting to fly away from the bridge with the sailors, her forehead covered in sweat.
Ororo was frozen for a brief moment as she saw Jean. There was something off - something wrong. She knew shifting of the winds, the forces of nature and around her, they were wrong. The car she had been by to help remove the people flew back up to the bridge but Jean's warning - one minute. There were still people who needed off the bridge. She could do it. It would tire her out and weaken her a bit, but she could do it. Nodding at Logan's words she joined him back on the bridge. "You might want to hold onto something," she told him as her eyes started to cloud over and the winds began to pick up. She could do this - she had to.
She called on the winds to rustle and rise. Debris was sliding along the concrete of the bridge. When she was sure she raised her arms and lifted the winds up, picking up the people from the ground. Ororo ignored the screams of shock before turning her hands and pushing their mini tornados out to either side of the bridge until they were all safely on land. By the time she was done she was shaking and the second she killed the winds she fell forward and grasped the edge of the bridge as exhaustion took hold of her.

Meeting her eyes didn't help, they spoke about it for god's sake. Logan gave her his word and now he was just hopping he will not have to honor it. "Shit." He muttered quickly after hearing her voice echoing in his mind, one minute was definitively not enough. His toughts trying hard to find a solution, Logan didn't question Ororo suggestion, he just quickly stabbed the ground to anchor himself. And fuck, that woman... Amazed by her powers but also a bit worried, Logan fucking knew how much this kind of move was asking. It was asking too much. Expecting her exaustion, Logan quickly reacted to catch and lift her, not really asking for permission, there was no time. He started running in the opposite direction, gathering some speed before finally jumping over the edge of bridge. A big jump ending on one of the small boat on his way to help the other one sinking. Cushion the landing was not really on option, so Logan just dealt with it, poker face on. "Get the fuck out!" He yelled at the sailor the second after, putting down 'Ro. "This shit gonna collaspe! Now!" He ordered and looked back at 'Ro and then at the bridge. "The fuck was that?" He asked, not speaking about Ro, but definitively about Jean, still paranoid about her, still expecting some bad shit.
@marvelxgirl
1 minute - was a long time for her. So short for the others. The heat surrounding her was still creating an eery fog around her as the water was just instantly evaporizing. She closed her eyes, and let herself fall backwards, into the muddy waters. Her eyes closed, for an instant it felt like she was in space, not really herself, but one with time and space, older, much older. Much greater. Flying through something that was normally given for men to see. It swirled and explored, eager for something, someone. It felt so freeing as she sank into the river.
Her mind drifting, tired of holding back what she was, what she did not want to be, yet not feared, not anymore, not for a while now. The vast cosmos took a hue of red, then blue - an eye. An eye she alone could ever see by holding back yet another force. An eye with much care and love for her. The eye to a face. She could feel the texture of that face, the slight roughness of a shaven beard. A smile, a worry. All the little muscles working together. Scott's face. She smiled. Her rock, her island, even if he was not there, she still knew he was, he would be for a long time,he did make her that promise when they got engaged. It was however, not him hugging her, but a freezing embrace. She opened her eyes, almost darkness, nothing there. She shot up, out of the water.
The bridge was destroyed, half hanging, half standing, a carnage. Jean flew slowly to the mutants. Her feet touched the ground, then a knee. She was exhausted and aching , she could feel it in every cell of her. It made her vomit to the side, mostly the river's water. Had she drowned ? Was she drowning? She wasn't sure of it.
