The Lockheed C-141C Starlifter “Hanoi Taxi”. This is the plane that was used to fly 78 POWs, including Senator John McCain, from Hanoi to the Phillipines after the conclusion of the Vietnam War. 

This plane is on display in the Global Reach Gallery at the Museum of the Air Force in Dayton, Ohio

The Douglas VC-54C “Sacred Cow” - this is the plane that flew President Franklin D. Roosevelt to the Yalta Conference in February 1945. It was specially equipped with an elevator that allowed the wheelchair-bound President to board the plane easily.

The flight to the Yalta Conference was the only time President Roosevelt flew aboard the plane. After his death in April 1945, President Harry Truman flew in this plane frequently.

This plane is on display in the Presidential Gallery in Museum of the Air Force in Dayton, Ohio.

President John F. Kennedy’s Air Force One. This is the plane that flew him to Dallas in November 1963 and where President Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in following President Kennedy’s assassination.

On display in the Presidential Gallery at the Museum of the Air Force, Dayton, Ohio.

The plane visible over the cockpit is the Beech VC-6A that was commissioned to fly President Johnson and his family. It was nicknamed the Lady Bird Special because it was often used to fly the family to their ranch in Texas.
