@abexander
âDead baby jokes? No. Maybe a few years ago, but I canât remember any now. I do have a Lizzie Borden one, if thatâs your taste though.â Parkerâs eyes stayed fixed on the closed door, even as Abe moved in towards him. It wasnât that he was nervous, more that he wasnât quite sure how to continue the conversation. When he was in the lead, he picked the topics, he knew when to chatter and when to make a move. But as the submissive, he wasnât sure how to proceed, and Abexander hadnât given him enough context to feel confident in either choice. âTry it and Iâll tape your mouth shut,â he rebuked, also joking. Of course, that didnât mean there wasnât a supply of bondage tape in his bedroom.
A lot of the time it was hard for people to know where they stood with Abexander, he didnât make much conversation, and he often moved about in a lazy, nonchalant manner. Never really speaking or making a move until he saw necessary. A permanent calm state, which to some only added to the twenty-two year oldâs creepiness. It wasnât a facade either, it was just who the male was. Abexander didnât have to think about whether or not he wanted to listen to a Lizzie Borden joke. âOkay, go.â The Omega gave a small smirk. âItâs not like I wanted to puke on him. Hurry, one more joke and we can start making out.âÂ
âEven I am not that optimistic.â
âWell, color me surprised.â
âHow could you keep a poisonous snake so close by? I think a little more than that for sure.â
"He had a habitat. Nope, youâre wrong.âÂ
âDonât tell this to Mindy. She will cry.â
âItâs only a game.âÂ
I donât know, do you wanna? I canât force you to do anything, but it could be fun. Hey! Iâm not bad per say, Iâm just⊠Alright, Iâm terrible but in my defense, you arenât exactly clear. Oh, speaking of graduationââ not, not what I was thinking at all.
Cecelia, just stop talking for two seconds and listenââ
Lets go.
So where were you again?Â
Of course, I shouldâve put two and two together! There was that rumour going around that you ate human flesh. I always wondered, how does it taste? I mean if itâs true of course.
That old rumour? It tastes like chicken, I got it online, and it was an Irishman that you surely didnât know. I have a picture of him if you want to see it.Â
âI would never date a guy like him. Heâs a terrible person.â
âArenât you the girl that likes to see the best in everyone, or whatever?âÂ
âIâŠdonât know,â she answered honestly. âI guess? Maybe?â Peyton had never thought about it from his perspective, never considered that everyone else felt the same. With her secret about her son weighing her down, Peyton often felt like she didnât related to anyone. She looked at the photo again before clicking off the screen and tucking the phone back in her pocket. âBut youâre the President of Omega, isnât college a cakewalk for you too?â she asked, changing the subject. After all, it was always easier to talk about someone elseâs problems over her own.Â
âWell, you canât. Thatâs not how it works. Even if you could get it all back, you were a different person back then, so it wouldnât be the same.â He mentioned with a tone of finality. Abexander could relate to Peytonâs struggle more than he had originally thought. Abexanderâs teenager years were filled with adventures that never seemed to weight him down, but becoming an adult meant realizing that everything had consequences, and the only person that would be there to pay for them was himself. âIf only being President of Omega Chi helped me with all aspects of life.â He shrugged lazily, but didnât go into it any further. âDonât worry, soon weâll be out of college facing new bullshit and weâll think our college years were the best time of our lives.âÂ
âI may have. I didnât know we were allowed to have pets in campus, I wonder why I never heard of him before; What kind of snake is he? No they donât. I bet you and I were very different.â
"Weâre not. An Australian black snake. Yes, he might be poisonous. Only in what we were wearing maybe.âÂ
âAre you serious? Who would it be? Wait a second, you are not talking about Jake, right?â
He shook his head. "What if I was, though?â
Now how I can say no to it?
Alright. We leave Friday, then. You donât have class that day, do you?Â
âYou smile, but not like this. Tell me, do you have a crush or something? You look as if you have cartoon heart eyes popping from your sockets.â
Abexander looked at the girl with an âare you serious right nowâ look. âYou donât know me that well, Meredith.â Deep down, Abexander was like most of his peers, but on the surface he was like the human embodiment of opposite-day.Â
Hmmmm that seems tempting.Do I get to meet this famous chef?
I can make it happen.Â
âAre you hitting on me now, Abexander?â she asked, a bit bashfully. âYou know Iâm not a pure and innocent soul, right? Iâve fooled around with Jake and I know you two are fraternity brothers. But it looks like youâve got your eyes set on something youâre interested in? Tell me why you have that look on your face. Iâve never seen it before. Usually youâre all dark and brooding. This look doesnât exactly look like the brooding Abexander that I know.â
"Iâm well aware of who you are.â He didnât mean that to sound creepy, but then again, he didnât really mind what kind of vibes he put out. âYou donât know me well enough, Iâm always dark and brooding no matter my facial expressions. Whatâs with all the questions? Canât we just enjoy each otherâs company without an interrogation?âÂ
I donât know, whatâs worse than running over a baby with a truck?
Having to wash it off your tire.Â
