Yog-Candrikā Sūtra:
To remain free of the 8 types of sexual relations is celibacy. It is semen which is life, and it is semen which is death; the more semen is accumulated in the body, by that much more the life span becomes longer, and the more semen is wasted, the more life force becomes feeble & living beings are destroyed.

योग-चन्द्रिका सूत्र:
अष्ट प्रकार के मैथुन से रहित होना ब्रह्मचर्य है।
शुक्र ही जीवन है और शुक्र ही मरण है देह में जितने
अधिक शुक्र संचय है, उतने ही अधिक दीर्घ जीवन है
और जितने ही शुक्र नष्ट होता है,
उतने ही जीवन वायु क्षीण होकर प्राणी नष्ट होते हैं।
