The median lethal dose (for an opiate naive individual) can be anywhere between 75 and 600 mg.
It is well documented that Kurt Cobain was a heroin addict, so therefore it would be ignorant to even consider him an “opiate naive individual”.
naive - lack of experience
in some cases (the links are in the sources), heroin addicts have tolerated doses as high as 1800 mg without even feeling sick
this is not “3 times the lethal dose of heroin”, this is 3 times the minimum lethal dose of heroin for an “opiate naive individual”
Tom Grant failed to even take Kurt Cobain’s tolerance, the purity of the heroin, and numerous other factors into consideration
a high concentration level may also not translate to a high heroin dose, especially if Kurt only died a couple minutes after the drug was injected
the autopsy was never actually released to the public - as reports and records of autopsies are confidential and protected under Washington State law as well as the Federal law
On March 29, Tom Grant released a response to the shotgun photos that were released by the Seattle Police Department in order to prove that the shotgun had not been melted down by Courtney Love. In the response, he blames a few news articles for giving him the false information. However, he forgets to mention that he has based his entire “Kurt Cobain had 3 times the lethal dose of heroin” theory on a news article as well, the link to that specific news article is right here :
