Between Two Candy Lovers

Cynthia looked at the candy the elder ginger had in his hands, her mouth starting to salivate at the prospect of getting her hand on some of it. She’d always had a sweet tooth, some would call it the factor of youth, others would call it genetics. Regardless, she simply knew that she wanted to get her hands on it. 

“Fa- Gaius, you up for a friendly competition?”

Gaius noticed the young girl who had joined them not long ago, always close to him. At first he thought the ginger girl had a crush on him or something, after all, this happened often. He then came to notice that she seemed to be interested in his candies. He looks at her once she mentions a competition rising a brow.  “What’s in it for me?” Gaius puts the Lollipop in his mouth as he focused his attention on the girl

We’re all about the cake

@crimeanpaladin Baking. One of Gaius’s favorite hobbies, he always found it fun baking his own sweets, or even baking things for his comrades. Today he had decided to attempt and bake a nice chocolate cake. But it seemed like he wasn’t the only one, and someone had already beaten him to the race. Another man was already in the kitchen baking what looked like to be a cake.   Well, Gaius would atleast get to have some of it, and not work as much for it as he was willing to. He approached the other man with a smile on his face

“Hello, want any help with that? I think more chocolate would come in just perfect”

Any opportunity to bake was welcome in Oscar’s eyes, and this was no exception. Provided an unusually extravagant amount of supplies, he decided to go for something a bit more grand than usual. He had been fine alone so far, even if mixing the batter had gotten a bit messy, and was enjoying the peace and quiet that was so rarely achieved when sharing housing with so many people.

A voice startled him and he jumped slightly, spinning around to see who it belonged to. Raising an eyebrow at the unfamiliar figure, it took a moment before he spoke up. “Sure; I won’t refuse help when it’s offered,” he said, dusting flour off of his apron, “But, if it’s not a bother, would you mind introducing yourself? It’s not often I get a total stranger walking in and offering to help me bake.”

“Oh right! I’m Gaius, baking enthusiast”  Gaius smiles as he takes a peek at what the other was working on. It was surely already giving out quite a nice smell. Maybe it was simply because Gaius’s sweet tooth was sensing that someone was working on a cake.  Gaiust looked at the mess that was already stablished around the man. But this was something that happened whenever Gaius baked too.

“I still insist... Chocolate would come in pretty well in there” He grins before taking a finger of the mixing batter to taste before leaning against the counter.

Aim for the future

Today the candy lover man was out to catch some training. Something to keep his blood rushing due to the slow days they had  been going through. Out on the range field Gaius found the lovely Noire. One of the best archers in the whole army if not the best. At first he didn’t go to close. He simply watched from a distance.  Gaius knew this girl had certain mannerisms, but as it was only her and her bow, she seemed to be as calm and relaxed as a if she didn’t have a care in the world. Gaius smiled as he sat down under the shade of a tree, yes he had come out to train, but just looking at her filled him with ease

It had been cool, bright, and quiet afternoon. Honestly, it was quite surprising there were no chores today. Either way, a certain green Sniper took it upon herself to raise bow skill. It wasn’t that surprising seeing as she was desperate to stay alive.

About a half hour had past before the ginger arrived. At this point, Noire had been firing at a line of training dummies she had set up about a minute ago. Arrows flew one by one, each hitting their target on either the head, throat, or chest. Resting the bow at her side, she wiped the sweat forming on her forehead. She made her way to her targets to pluck the arrows for repair if needed. As the last arrow was retrieved, she had turned to leave.

Plans were changed when her eyes fell upon the Thief.

“Eep! G-Gaius!”

From their distance, she didn’t expect him to hear her, but this startled her nonetheless. How long was he watching? What did he want? Somehow, she didn’t want to know.

As gaius noticed Noire looking over at him he smiled and waved at her. He stood up fixing his hair as he walked in her direction. He had brought his old bow. It had been quite sometime since the last time he used it.   After learning how to use tomes, he didn’t really have use for the bow. But using the bow always brought him a certain satisfaction.   Once he was next to her he smiled and showed her his Bow. 

“What’s up Gust... How’s training going? Think I could join you if you’re not leaving right now this is. I’ve been wanting to get back into using the Bow. And who else but Sunshine’s Daughter to help me out.  So what do you say sweetie?”

 For quite a while things had been calm around the camp, During this time Gaius had started trying to improve his cooking skills. And after trying one of Sumia’s pies. He decided to try and learn how to bake a pie. After many failed attempts he finally got one that seemed to have worked out how he wanted.

“Sweet! Now to show my proggress to Sumia. She’ll be stunned.”  Making his way to Sumia’s Chambers, Gaius had a little accident, due to his small rush he had ran against the very person he wanted to deliver the pie, getting his shirt covered in it

“Seriously! I finally got it right!”

Sumia hadn’t expected to run into Gaius. More than that she hadn’t expected for Gaius to come running into her and sending her crashing to the ground while covering them both in pie. Sumia went wide-eyed as she fell on her bottom and covered her face to keep the pie from going into her eyes.

“Gaius are you alright?” Sumia scrambled back onto her feet, worried more about the ginger haired man than herself. He got the worst of the pie and she moved towards him, wishing she had something to help clean it off. If she was one to think about such things it would have been funny that this accident was caused by Gaius being clumsy and not her. But right now Sumia was just cornered about the thief. “You should be more careful.”

Gaius’s outfit was covered in pie. A real pity that he couldn’t show Sumia the result of his hard work. Ince she was up he lifted the pie plate and looked over at Sumia making sure she was okay. He would have to try and bake another pie like this one, but maybe he wouldn’t be as lucky this time. After fixing his hair with his hand Gaius spoke “Ah Chucks...I really should. You’re not hurt right? Seems like I am turning out to be more like you Stumbles, I am sorry for your outfit. I can wash it if you’d like, It’s the least I could do when I just ruined the Pie I baked for you while getting you covered in it... I’m sorry Stumbles.”

 Ever since Aversa joined the Shepherds, Gaius had the feeling he had talked to her in the past. But for some reason he didn’t seem to remember. He knew she was close to Validar, But that was pretty much it.  A long time had passed since then, yet they never managed to have a proper conversation. Today Gaius was resting by one of the windows of the castle, But looking down he saw what seemed to be the Plegian woman having a problem with one of the new soldiers at the entrance of the castle. Gaius wasted no time on going down to the entrance and helping solve the problem, and helping Aversa get back in.

“Looks like the new blood still haven’t gotten used to you Temptress, they’ll get used to you in no time.”
