Since @taylorswift made the announcement of lover I knew I would make a project about it. I’ve always loved to draw so doing an illustration per each song of the album seemed like a great idea. This album screamed bright colors and sunsets and clouds and positive vibes, so I really tried to capture that. I’ve been hearing this record nonstop since it came out, cruel Summer is definitely my favorite track, I’m thinking of doing a mini comic making like a mashup with getaway car, imagine a music video featuring both songs it would be iconic. Taylor is just such an amazing songwriter that from the very first listen of any of the tracks from lover she paints a picture in your head, I tried to capture the vibes of each song in each illustration, and I’ve been working so hard to represent well each concept correctly, If you like this please tag Taylor and @taylornation in the comments, I’d really love if Taylor could see this. Anyway here’s the first half of the album I’m so excited to do the rest.

HAPPY NEW 2021 YEAR, TUMBLR!
I have no idea what will come next. I have no idea about a lot of things these days and so I’ve clung to the one thing that keeps me connected to you all. That thing always has and always will be music.
HAPPY 31ST BIRTHDAY TAYLOR ALISON SWIFT December 13, 1989
one of the ways i know this culture has a massive issue with consent
is the sheer amount of people I’ve known that just lie & tell people they’re deathly allergic to foods they dislike
because otherwise people will hound them, mock them, coax them, harass them, try to force them to eat it, or even trick them into eating it, and they will never hear the end of it
your coworkers will bake it into a fucking pie, call it something else, and wait til your birthday, gather everyone and their first cousins to sit around in a circle waiting for you to put a forkful into your mouth and then point rhythmically at you in a chanting, glaring, sweating, unholy circle like SWISS CHARD SWISS CHARD YOU JUST ATE SWISS CHARD HA HA HA SWISS CHARD NOW YOU LIKE SWISS CHARD
Because forcing someone into a situation where they don’t feel safe declining putting something into their body they’d rather not be there is totes 100% wholesome American fun
And this is something so known that it’s infinitely easier to just lie and tell people that you’ll die if you eat that food…which actually doesn’t always stop it from happening
Its so dumb when ppl pull that shit bc what?? Is the end goal??? To be shitty? To trick them into admitting they like the food?? What does it do for anyone? Like seriously why is it so important to ppl that others like a specific food. A man once purposefully got me donuts made from a sweet cheese bc i hate cheese and i was like oh fuck these fancy donuts are nasty but i was also raised to be polite so when asked i was like ‘yes of course i liked them thank u im full tho so u can have the rest" and they proceeded to lose their shit like “so you DO like cheese” no bitch im just being polite go fuck urself
Ive been tricked into eating so many different foods and im also a person who will willingly try nearly anything at least once, which no one has to do but i think its weird that im out here making an effort to try anything and ppl just love it to be a trick!!! When u ask they say “well if i asked mayne you would have said no” and p much make it clear they decided you should like this thing and no matter what you think they decided you were going to try it. Ive been using the line “i /cant/ eat cheese” for years and hadnt even realized how much of a consent thing the weird trick ppl into eating things they hate was until reading this post. Also donuts made out of cheese are nasty
maybe taylor’s consistent “everyone wants to fuck my boyfriend” is less about people actually being obsessed with him/trying to “steal” him & a lot more about thinking so little of yourself that you assume anyone could walk up and take your happiness away from you, because you dont deserve it, and you’re so desperate to believe that this love is yours, but are so frantic that it’ll be stolen by someone more worthy than you, because to you every single woman out there is more worthy
here is the statement of brandon bernard’s legal team, who put it far better than i ever could.
[ID: Attorney statement re: execution of Brandon Bernard.
“Tonight, those of us who love Brandon Bernard - and we are many - are full of righteous anger and deep sadness at the actions of the federal government in taking his life. Brandon’s live mattered. To us, his legal team, to his two beautiful and talented daughters, to his mother, brother, and sister, and to the countless people around the country who came to know him and his story in recent weeks.
Brandon made one terrible mistake at age 18. But he did not kill anyone, and he never stopped feeling shamed and profound remorse for his actions in the crime that took the lives of Todd and Stacie Bagley. And he spent the rest of his life sincerely trying to show, as he put it, that he “was not that person”. Brandon showed us that and so much more, carrying himself with grace and generosity, and always treating everyone around him with kindness and respect. He worked to help other troubled kids avoid similar devastating mistakes, and he lived every day his commitment to serving both God and humanity.
Many things went wrong to put Brandon on death row, including egregious government misconduct in concealing evidence and misleading the jury, which the courts refused to remedy. Before Brandon’s execution, five of the jurors who sentenced him to death said they no longer stood by that verdict. They joined the lead appellate prosecutor on Brandon’s case in urging President Trump to commute his death sentence to life without parole. Those pleas for clemency were joined by hundreds of thousands of supporters, including celebrities, faith leaders, and members of the United States Congress.
Brandon’s execution is a stain on America’s criminal justice system. But I pray that even in his death, Brandon will advance his commitment to helping others by moving us closer to a time when this country does not pointlessly and maliciously kill young Black men who pose no threat to anyone, when we hold prosecutors to the highest standards of integrity in every case, and when our leaders exercise their moral authority where it is needed.
We were proud to call Brandon our client and our friend, and we will miss him greatly.”
-Robert C. Owen, attorney for Brandon Bernard
December 10, 2020]
this execution is a needlessly cruel and inhumane act as well as a great tragedy.
brandon bernard’s is not the only federal execution scheduled. according to the bbc, trump has five executions scheduled up until january 20th. we need to keep fighting so that these executions do not happen.
i wish brandon’s family all the best and i’m so sorry we could not do more.
i’m including a few links to spread awareness and inform people.
https://innocenceproject.org/ is an organization that uses modern forensic technology to overturn wrongful convictions.
https://prisonbookprogram.org/for-people-in-prison/national-prisoner-resource-list/ is a list of resources that those who have loved ones in prison or who are in prison can use. it has links to several other similar lists as well.
https://deathpenaltyinfo.org/ is a website that provides information about capital punishment in the united states. one of the first things written on their website is “At least 18 people have been executed despite serious doubts about their guilt. Official misconduct is the leading cause of wrongful capital convictions.”
brandon’s life mattered. black lives matter. we need to keep up this energy to fight for justice in an unjust criminal system even when his name is not trending on twitter anymore.
IF YOU’RE GOING TO REBLOG THIS PLEASE REBLOG THIS EDITED VERSION. also sign this petition to keep pervis payne from being executed: https://innocenceproject.org/petitions/stop-execution-pervis-payne/
thank you to girlbosshannibal for the post about the petition in the first place.
Anyway cheers to cowboy like me
"taylor swift isn't even a good musician" actually she is, to the point where well liked songwriters like paul mccartney and bruce springsteen have praised her lyricism and composition. you just listened to 22 and decided she wasn't allowed to write fun songs alongside her masterfully crafted ballads.
the reason lorde hasn’t dropped an album is bc taylor swift is monopolizing jack antonoff
“Mom, tell Taylor it’s my turn with the Jack Antonoff!”
“Lorde, Honey, it’s still 2020. Taylor’s allowed to have Jack through the end of the year.”
