I actually finally pushed myself to publish my fanfiction ( >ヮ< ) .ᐟ.ᐟ It's a short one about medieval very slight fruk, centred on the theme of being immortal and dying.
Spring is always rough for me. This time it was an unending cycle of new events spawning every week, where I had to go, be present, and do something with uni work running on behind. I don't know why I get overwhelmed and really anxious to post after a long time of not doing it. It's hard for me. Sorry, guys, but I really appreciate that some of you stayed... ૮꒰ ˶• ༝ •˶꒱ა

Yupyupyupyup, my favourite 19th cent rusameamerus....... initially, I was planning to write another headcanon post for this drawing, but I ran out of time, sorry (>_<)
I don't usually include the pose tests and overall behind the scenes process, like only the final sketch, but I thought they turned out alright.
If you were wondering what those branches I added in the bouquet were - these are pussy willows, they're usually used for Christian religious decoration on Palm Sunday, aaannnnd sometimes they're considered to be spring's harbingers. And harumachi stands for... waiting for the spring. Wow. Huge brain. Honestly, I needed something to fill more empty space.
The choice of pansies for the vase design is almost not accidental, in the language of flowers, they mean "I'm thinking of you" and affection. I like having some symbolism in my work.

In your drawings of Rusame, there's a strong sense of deep affection between the two that's beautiful to see and certainly difficult to emulate. It's a palpable feeling, but quite spherical in a good way.

I've been doing them for the past few years but this time I've found enough courage to post. I know, it's not a big deal and literally every other artist does the year-end results, it's completely normal, but with me there are always some complications being like the other artists over here. Still, this is huge for me. And, I know, it's ugly. I don't favour using templates for art summaries (it's a personal preference!!!!!! if you want to, you are absolutely free to do it!!!)

A quite good year for me in form of consistent drawing. I've been disappearing for some weeks and months here and there, I know, bad habit, but, hey, it's not three years, like I did last time! And, to be frank, I thought again about quitting. Realllllyyyy contemplated over this idea. I think about disappearing without a word when I'm in, to put it lighly, bad mood. And this choice wouldn't make my life easier.
But! I'm still here, I might still be away from time to time as I don't literally have things to post, and I still have some plans for this year and for this blog. Like yeah, I want finally to finish SOME or ONE of my silly fanfiction drafts. I have like. 4? And they all got no ending. Huh?!!!!!!?!!! I have a fucking 30 (31 soon) chapter fanfic of a crossover between, you will never guess it, bsd and the fandom this blog becoming solely devoted to. And I want to publish my work on the beautiful and amazing ao3 like a big girl I am. Ughhhh but to do that I've got to finish writing it... wait... the next year will be my last uni year. What the helly....... oh no...... (⊙_⊙)

The capitalism joke was mandatory to include. And, yup, 4th sketch is like a sort of au of Ivan's (Soviet) ghost haunting (modern) Alfred I sometimes see other creators indulge in. I just wanted to draw this specific interaction.
Now it's great opportunity to share some thoughts :P
My rusame headcanons (some sad, some random). They are not completely connected to the historical stuff I put here or might seem too ooc for someone. Welp, I can't help myself! (っ˘ω˘ς ) However these are for nationverse (wild).
Due to long distance relationship (those diomede islands are still 4 km apart) and hectic work (?*) schedule, Ivan and Al mostly talk over phone calls or video chat. Dunno, discord, google meets, zoom?????????????........ In person they see eachother not as often as they would like. Four times in a good year under different circumstances not related to """work""" (they disengage from that really hard). Meeting irl still takes painfully long (I know that surely nations get used to flying often but after like 4 hours into a flight people go cray-cray, and I know that from personal experience). Soooo, all of that results in tons of messages. Or if they are lucky enough in couple of weeks at some random hotel in some random city, in those cases usually Alfred tries to organize a nice date. Not often things go according to the plan...
* If you could call being a nation a job. Yet, they have to do something, at least. I could write a post about my thoughts on these, tl;dr - nations had a lot more things to do in past, now they serve more secretary-like tasks. I think it's implied in canon, that humanizations represent people, not the government. And, whoops reality check, ordinary people nowadays don't really have power over what's happening on big scale of events.

I was in sort of hiatus/burned out period. I wanted to do something, but didn't have any ideas... until I saw in my pinterest feed drawing of a pin-up girl........ inspiration is for sure a weird thing. And also I was working on my other paper and such stuff takes a lot of time of reading other people's work just to cite one little word. How neat. One remark to notice, maybe it's too chronically online (in terms of a fandom. or just insanity, whatever you prefer): so, we have [as in the real world] a "triangle", some call it that way, Kissinger at least did, US-China-Russia, and... turns out, this sort of field of study isn't that broadly explored, as a whole. Cause it's just sooooooo complex methodologically and crazy and all over the place. ON THE OTHER HAND...... we have black triangle (I hope it is called this way and not my translation mistake, or plainly - rusamechu)....... with much more written work than on the actual thing. I didn't thoroughly checked and compared the statistics, just assumed, however. It's a funny concept if you think about it. Well, as a whole, there is a great layer of historically, I would proudly say, accurate fanfiction written on hetalia, if you try to find it.

Just wanted to draw something fun... colour red is starting to grow on me. Dunno what else to write. Mayhaps I shall share my story how I found this fandom (or it found me) ┐('<')┌
Hetaoni was the thing that got me into hetalia way baaaaaaackkkkkkkk when the game was thriving. I watched firstly the playthrough of it .... ( •_• ) cause I was kind of role-playing in habbo with some people and one of them suggested doing it. I was Canada. I didn't know anything about the source of HETA in ONI. And after a while (couple of months) I googled the anime......
The time was around sixth grade, and it felt like I've opened my third eye or something – "this is the media I will build my personality around from now on"... However I was severely bullied before that (canon event, huh) and was actually afraid to show any hints of being literally obsessed over the hit anime of 2009, so I just focused on learning history (aka the lore.....). And yeah that's it, I guess. I'm still obsessed. It's been like 8 years or more..................
This is a poster to the horror movie I made up. This idea, like any others, has been sitting in my head for yearsssss. I believe - I got inspired by some TV series' ad I've seen before or I just completely hallucinated it. Honestly, I don't remember. Anywho.
The synopsis!
Something happens to Alfred and his brother Matthew has to take on his role. Matthew plays for two at the same time until people start to wonder what is wrong with twins.
Normal explanation of the idea [with additional text in brackets about visual accompaniments]:
Two brothers, fresh university students, nobody can tell them apart as they are.... you've guessed right, twins. Just with polar opposite personalities. But who looks into these details? And naturally, everyone follows the brightest one. Well, there is still the other twin. Left behind. Always forgotten, but he got used to it since childhood. Matthew isn't bothered by this. Or seems to be - just no one wonders.
As always, in the evening, the two brothers shared a dinner. They didn't live that far from the university to live on campus, Matthew biked every day, while Alfred drew his Ford. For some reason, their parents insisted on having their own house and not living in the dorm. And they weren't at all against it.
– You've gotta man up, Matt! Don't let people push you however they want to, - Alfred said, tossing another spoonful of his favourite ice cream. He is aware that almost no one from the university tries to communicate with his brother, or only contacts him at a request that is beneficial to themselves. And it's just unfair!
– Uhhhhh, it's not that simple, - Matthew groaned and rolled his eyes towards the ceiling. He didn't like to talk about what he should change about himself. This made him feel obsolete. And like a little kid.
– Well, then, maybe you start actin' up like me? Some confidence here and there, and you'll see that people start treating you like a real person! - Alfred warmly smiled.
– I am a real person, - Matthew muttered annoyingly. It was always like that, with him. Alfred never saw the bigger picture, never understood how lucky he was that he was just likeable simply because he was him. But the advice seemed... surprisingly logical for Matthew. Or it was more of an offer. He could become just like him.
The knife sat comfortably on the kitchen corner.
Next day. Lunch time.
Like usual, Alfred is surrounded by his friends. Or people he thinks that are his friends. Who cares? He never managed to make proper friends, he just never found anyone who could tag along. He was always the first to show initiative, but when he realized that if he stopped doing this, then people would not talk back to him; he stopped altogether. What's the point? Nothing changes. Like his friends could move to another city or stay here, but for some reason, in the end, stop talking with him. They found new acquaintances and moved on without him. The group chat message was left unread. However, he doesn't mind that at all. He is fine with the existing concept of friendship that was pushed onto him. Thus, the endless mondane talks about everything and nothing goes on and on.
Now Alfred is in the bathroom, staring at the mirror and trying to recollect himself. Wait. No, it was Matthew all this time. Talking a lot is stressful for someone who isn't used to that. And so much attention! He nervously moved his fingers through his hair. It was longer yesterday. Matthew tells himself he doesn't know what happened or where Alfred went.
He convinced himself that it would be better this way. But the guilt could never be truly washed away. Of course, it doesn't end well.
Many people start questioning why Alfred is suddenly so forgetful - all the promises are being broken, although he gave them like a couple days ago.
The next week is Thanksgiving. How is Matthew supposed to be at the annual family dinner without Alfred or with him however without himself? Like he can't just split into two people. Or he can pretend to be sick as he does for university. Nobody cares about the well-being of poor Matthew. But it's no big news for him. He hoped that for the next year, Alfred would return.
[some things happen.... couldn't come up what to do with the middle of this story...... basically fast forward to the end]
Thanksgiving day.
Matthew nervously waited before the door to his parents' house. Shaken hand moved to the ring bell, but before he managed to push the button, the door suddenly swung open, scaring him.
[The shot is fixated on his back, a woman's voice can be heard, happily exclaiming]:
– Oh my, you finally had gotten a proper haircut!
[Credits roll]
Leaving viewers to wonder - were there twins at all? Or just one troubled person trying to make himself into something else.
And in no way I'll call it a proper and structured plot, maybe some basic outlines how this movie looks like in my head.
I kindly took some inspo from The Talented Mr. Ripley and turned it into some sort of typical psychological horror that A24 would get their hands on. I like the trop of an unreliable narrator and a missing crucial scene, it's fun and messes a lot with the audience.
....and my childhood dream job was to become a movie director.
About the title - I always had rough times with coming up with names for something. Fanfiction, which I sometimes indulge in writing, usually stays unnamed, as I can't wrap my head around only one (or even a sentence) word that will reflect what I wanted from my work. Annddd this time is extra hard, cause I had to fit the title on the knife, so it should be a short one. At some point I really liked "Echo", but then remembered a song by Crusher and said "nah, I shouldn't take that banger's name". Then I thought about "November" (cheeky name, cause my bday is in November, heh), but the plot doesn't revolve around, well, Thanksgiving, it was just the first proper holiday I could come up with for a family gathering. And after that, I realllllyyyy played with similar words to empty and, bam, "Hollow" came up. Amazing!!! And it fits the sort of identity crisis going on with the main idea.
I was reading a lot of stuff on crusaders.......... therefore, I got inspired (o_O).... and also about the stained glass (I tried) frame: the mosaics are all connected to the Kaliningrad region (which, in my opinion, is now what Gilbert represents; well, if you think about it, he shouldn't exist for obvious reasons, but, nevertheless, the awesomeness could never disappear, or he got downgraded in... title? from country to territorial unit).
Loved colouring amber shards, they're like jelly pieces, yummy!! (⁀ᗢ⁀)
Additional note: my paper got published in a scientific journal!!!!!!! yahoooooooooooo I betcha didn't expect that my longass headcanon posts were just for shit and giggles,... I also do some writing here and there... like im really proud of myself, it is an accomplishment for me :) now I need to make like a thousand more.
