An awful theory just took shape in my mind⊠My friend @hedaswarrior analyzed ten times better than I ever could have what I suspected about the Nightbloods and Lexaâs seemingly dark blood. Weâll probably get answers about it next week, but today an horrible thought hit me, when I remembered a particular shot from the first extended trailer, and I started thinking⊠Does anyone remember this?
Sorry for the quality, I tried to brighten it as best as I could. Well, this is Ontari, supposedly on or next to Lexaâs throne, covered in blood. Dark, black blood. Before you think Iâm saying sheâs gonna kill Lexa, let me stop you right there, because thatâs not what Iâm scared of. What Iâm thinking instead is⊠If hedaswarrior is indeed right, and the Nightbloods are possible candidates to the position of Commander, recognized by the darkness of their blood, I think weâre gonna get some sort of coup or uprising against Lexa to forcefully enthrone the Ice Nation. An uprising that will force Lexa to go into hiding, maybe taking refuge into Lunaâs Clan (and that would explain Alycia being missing for a few episodes too). What does Ontari and the Nightbloods have to do with all this, you might ask⊠Well, if all this does turn out true, what I think will happen is that Ontari is going to kill all the young Nightbloods, to ensure that no potential Commander might lay claim to the throne. Hence all the dark blood on her face. And Rhiannon Fish, the actress who plays Ontari, did say multiple times that her character is going to be brutal and fans are going to have a hard time liking her, which makes sense: it would be hard liking her if she really ends up slaughtering all those kidsâŠ
I think after three weeks and all the new information we got, this is the right time to reblog this, and add my reasons why I think this theory of mine might actually be right. I wrote this back when I still thought Ontari was only a general for the Ice Queen, or her daughter at best. But now we know that she is in fact a Natblida herself, and this is what makes the children massacre only more plausible. She is not a soldier obeying her Queenâs orders. She is a possible candidate to the position of Heda. Killing all the young Nightbloods and forcing Lexa into hiding if she fails to eliminate her too, would make Ontari the only one left to be fit to become Commander. The shot in the trailer makes more sense now too. She is not sitting on Lexaâs throne out of smugness or whatever, she is sitting there because that is her throne now. She is Heda.
We already saw the discontent among the Ambassadors (and even people extremely loyal to Lexa like Titus and Indra) at Lexaâs new philosophy of âBlood must NOT have blood.â I could totally see them being drawn to a more âtraditionalâ, brutal Commander like Ontari.
And letâs not forget this: Lexaâs nightmare.
The meaning of Lexaâs dream, what she is afraid of, is that her new ways of commandingâchoosing peace over violenceâwill lead to her peopleâs ruin. So she sees the Commanders, dead because of an assassin, and war. Itâs obvious that she thinks of herself as this assassin. She fears her new philosophy might cause more harm than good and it would be like destroying everything the Commanders before her did. But this show loves symbolism, and whatâs better than an actual warning for the future hidden inside a confused nightmare? Lexa says her dream was a warning, and I think she is right. But not a warning against herself and her âbetrayalâ with âJus nou drein jus daunâ, no. A warning against another traitor. A Commander hiding in the shadows, waiting for the right moment. Someone that, striking like an assassin, will destroy the Commanders legacy (killing all the potential Hedas, the Nightbloods), and will start a war. Ontari.
The moment when you realize that Gandalf was recruited into the CoL long before Jaha was⊠đđłđ Parallel to âDeath is not the endâ speech
anyone else get slapped in the face with thisÂ
what if alie 2.0 is the spirit of the commander
she didnât have a body of her own, so she took the body of another and when they die she has to move to another body, finding the next commander, and the black blood is indicative of a gene mutation that allows that personâs body to be a suitable host for her
for real tho the âsacred symbolâ tattoo on the back of lexaâs neck, polis/polaris, the dream warnings being from the alie 2.0 in her brain, the black blood of the commander and the saying âblood must have bloodâ, it all ties together it all makes sense
@jaxxgarcia Sounds similar to something we talked about? Love how this show takes us on such an in-depth journey to the desired unknown
I always feel judged by @netflix when they ask "Are you still watching?"
