It doesn't matter at all. I love to talk about it. Because yes. I love it. I love with real love.

i have a framing theory for the darjeeling limited 🤞‼️
the three brothers represent core elements of the story; confrontation, control, and emotion, and wes manages to wonderfully to show this visually by framing them in important moments of the film
when francis is centre frame, the plot mirrors his sense of control, leadership and guiding role he takes on for the group, giving him authority and direction:
“from now on, if you wanna talk to her, or check her messages, you speak to us first, day or night, any time. can you agree to that?”
“i guess i’ve still got some more healing to do.”
when peter is centre frame, the plot reflects the confrontation and conflict of the brothers clashing with themselves and others (namely their mother):
“is that my belt?” “can i borrow it?” “well, no, not right now. i was looking for that earlier. ask first, next time.”
“you should have been at dad’s funeral.”
and when jack is centre frame, the plot is often illustrating emotional periods of the narrative, or introspective moments that force them all to think about their actions more deeply:
*strangers by the kinks playing at the boy’s funeral*
“well i think you’re all equally grief-stricken.”
