So, we voted.
Well done.
But I have a question for you, did you feel well informed about all your options?
Did you have a good understanding of where the candidates stand, from the race for president all the way down to city council or school board?
Did you know the arguments for and against all the amendments or bond issues you had on your ballot?
Would you have liked an unbiased, fair look at the candidates in their own words. A look at where they stand on the issues at hand, one place to look that covers all races and issues on your ballot?
Please, please, please let me know your feelings on this. If your local area has something like that available or not and if you would find such information useful or not.
I don’t care how you voted, only if you felt well informed to make your choices or would like more information as I described.
Thank you so very much in advance and please reblog as well.

You voted for obama?
I know I have followers who voted to reelect obama and I am honestly very, very curious what issues influenced your decision?
Please give me an honest answer, you may ask me not to respond if you like, I am fine with that. I really would like to hear some answers to this question.
If you don’t want to respond publicly you can drop things in my askbox, anon is always on and acceptable.
Thank you very much.

Ryan's America: Elections
Alright, the election is finally behind us and there may be more who are happy about seeing its end than they are happy about who won. Our current election process is a messy one, there is really no doubt about that but there is not any clear path toward improving the process. There is most certainly not any consensus on how things can be fixed. Of course, one nice thing about a personal fantasy is that there is no need for consensus, so my election process is as follows:

Right now I am going to just take a brief moment
To just be very happy that a presidential candidate held his election night activities in Albuquerque.
Thank you Gary Johnson.
I was wrong
And it makes me so amazingly sad.
The way I see it this result means one of two things about the American people
1. A large portion of the people of this country believed the lies of the obama campaign and the main stream media without doing any effort themselves to check actual facts
OR
2. The population of this country has largely rejected the ideas and concepts that this country was founded on and thrived on for over 200 years
I believe it is entirely possible that people will one day look back on this night as the day that our republic and true freedom really died. I hope that I am wrong again and I hope that the problem is simply one of a lack of accurate information from those meant to provide accurate information because that is much easier to fix than a population that knowingly selects policies that have failed at every point in history that they have ever been attempted.
I wish I lived in different times, more than I know how to say.
Once again, we have our work cut out for us. We lost this election, but we still live in the greatest country on the planet and we still have many ways to fight for and defend it. My counsel to you tonight: Please, do not be bitter. Do not fall prey to the Beltway blame game. Do not get mired in small things. Do not become vengeful creatures like our political opponents who voted out of spite instead of love of country. We still have boundless blessings to count — and to secure. I remain a proud, unrepentant believer in the American Dream. And I know you do, too. Freedom will endure because we will keep fighting for it. We can’t afford not to, friends.

America
This nation grew to be the most powerful on the planet.
An economic, industrial, military, and cultural shining light.
It was fundamentally different than every nation that came before, it was based on ideas.
There was only ever one way for this great country to falter and die, a truth known well to those who created it. Only from inside could the beacon of freedom, liberty, and greatness be destroyed.
I feel very strongly that the reelection of a president who has passed policies that will destroy this nation economically as well as industrially and militarily; who obviously believes that this nation is more powerful than it should be; who favors this nation's enemies over its allies; and who clearly has no problem blatantly lying to the people and allowing Americans to be killed very well may be something this nation may not be able to survive. And all of that was when he knew he had to face reelection, a tool to possibly keep him in check that will no longer be in place.
I hope I am wrong but I think anyone who loves freedom and this nation and understands society and government has much, much more to fear now than any of those who were so very afraid of Mitt Romney.
