The man who sold the world.
Process for this humble tribute to Prince.
Selfportrait comissioned by a private collector. The little feline is Simón, one my three cats and the only one that is always by my side, as my own bodyguard.
Portrait of comic artist and illustrator Miguel Ángel Martín for Belcebú magazine. Miguel is famous for producing controversial comix based on diverse paraphilias and fetish and BDSM. I tried to convey those aspects of his work through the sexy kitten latex suit and the gas mask, placing the tubes as a metaphor for human guts.
El país de los sobrevivientes
This is a peek behind the scenes of these illustrations I did for Esquire Latin America about some unexplained suicides in Castillos, an uruguayan little town. I came up with the idea of an idyllic town attacked by a sinister entity. The portrait of the old man tells the tragedy of a guy who blinded himself in a failed suicide attempt. The sad dog refers to local lore about canines being unable to bark, maybe because they live in fear.
Art director: Alfredo Ceballos.
Illustration based on the 1956 classic film "Around the world in 80 days" produced by the infamous Michael Todd, directed by Michael Anderson and starring David Niven, Cantinflas and Shirley MacLaine. It was a lot of fun to draw all of this elements into a cohesive image. Colors by Enrique Ortega.
Luc Besson portrait for Esquire Latin America. It was a lot of fun to recreate my favorite Luc's characters.
Gabriel García Márquez portrait based on his love/hate relationship with the world of cinema. The editors wanted to emphasize the failed movie productions based on García Márquez works.
A couple of illustrations for Esquire Latin America about the zealotry in soccer and the failed dreams of victory of a father and his son.
