What does preproduction meetings consists of for movies?

A lot of things, actually. They'll have meetings for logistics (think arrivals, security measures, etc.), contract agreements - think press junkets, interviews, etc. that are written into a contract before filming.

The bulk of it doesn't always happen all at once but for films, it's usually some prep before heading to the location where there are more meetings, fittings, location shots and stand ins.

Definitely possible. Set hard boundaries, be prepared to have people pressure you but have good people in your corner. There are plenty of celebrities with strong teams and people behind them.

Based on your knowledge of the industry, what are some cold hard truths you wouldn’t mind sharing?

It can be from celeb perspective or the public or for fandom.

Mine would be for fans or stans to not assume because a celeb is publicly one way, that must be who they are. They do media training for a reason and that’s why so many believe they can get away with so much.

Cold hard truths? If you don't have a good, solid team behind you, you'll get left behind. A solid team takes a lot of money and often times, that's why you'll see celebrities doing a lot of advertisements because it means more money.

You are right. I've been in rooms with certain celebrities who act a certain way because of their 'brand' and they were the complete opposite once the cameras were off. It doesn't happen all the time but it happens.

If the director has the rights to the book that the movie is done from, do they get a piece of the box office?

They meaning the writer?

It depends on what they’ve asked for in their negotiation for the rights. Sometimes they get a lump sum upfront or they may ask for a percentage at the box office but it depends on what is on the table.
