Sometimes she wished her window would open enough to be able to slip out and fly away. She could get it open enough to fit if only there werenât bars both horizontally and vertically over her windows preventing escape. Hugging herself she moved to the door to listen to that loudmouth trying to goad her into coming out.
It didnt matter much, she was screwed both literally and figuratively either way. Usually Rocca coming into her room meant she only had to deal with him at the least. Her attention was grabbed by a new voice, telling Rocca off and Rocca replying, a clear pout on his voice. Curiously she eased her door open a crack to spy on the conversation in the hall and hopefully not be seen by Rocca.
His peers may have noticed, but what would it matter now? They feared their fellow officer more than they desired getting into that room with their captive. Besides, there would be other opportunitiesâ ones that did not involve the unwanted company of one of their strongest (and arguably, most unhinged) interfering.Â
Thus, they kept their mouths shut and acted as though they did not notice Yuta looking out.Â
âDelâtaââ Roccaâs sickly sweet tone was dripping in irritation. âWhy donât you go find Akame? Iâm sure heâs lookingââ
âWhy donât you go find him, yourself? If youâre so concerned.â The taller teen immediately turned their own distractions against them.Â
Truth be told, he didnât much care for the fact that it was a prisoner they were botheringâ However, it did grind on him that they were targeting her specifically because she was a girl, and they were trying to take advantage of that. Hunting games were one thing, but this? This was something else entirely.Â
Rocca could see he wasnât going to win. Once Etsuko set his mind to something, he wouldnât back down. With a scoff of resignation, he called his two squad members away and abandoned their post outside of Yutaâs door. Etsuko waited until they were gone, standing tall with his arms folded over his chest, before he shot a quick glance over his shoulder to the cracked door.Â
Yuta felt her body relax marginally at seeing the three retreating backs but she was still tense. She wouldnt relax until she was truly alone. She let her gaze travel up....and up until she was looking at her temporary savior's mask, barely able to discern the outline of his eyes behind those universal red lenses. "I owe you my thanks and gratitude for stopping Rocca....if he doesnt return later you'll have given me my first quiet and alone night here," she said softly.
