Late night study sessions might feel exhausting, but they're also some of the most rewarding moments in your academic journey. When the world is quiet, and it's just you and your books, you have the opportunity to dive deep into your studies, to understand, and to grow. Remember, every hour you put in, every note you take, and every concept you master is a step closer to your goals.

It's okay to feel tired. It's okay to take breaks. But never forget the power of persistence. Each time you push through, you're building not just your knowledge, but also your resilience. This is your journey, and while it might not always be easy, it's worth it.

So, surround yourself with what inspires you whether it's a cup of coffee, your favorite study playlist, or motivational quotes that keep you going. You’ve got this. Keep your head up, your mind sharp, and your heart determined. Every challenge you overcome is a victory, every question you answer is progress.

as sundays are my days off - i'd like to reflect on may.

i never expected that as april came to a close i'd find the strength to genuinely return to my studies and hobbies with discipline for the first time in over a year.

with 100+ recorded study hours during the month of may, consistency and progress in my yoga practice, and a rediscovered passion for studying the law, i could not have asked for a better month.

oh, how april showers really do bring may flowers!

oh! how i have bloomed with a mind full of sunshine instead of dreary clouds!

i pray june brings you discipline even if it doesn't bring you motivation.

From Beginner to Intermediate: an intense plan for advancing in language

Introduction

I've studied Spanish at school for 3 years and now I'm at a low B1 level. I can actually understand pretty well while listening or reading but I can't communicate fluently.

This plan will include vocabulary build up, some grammar revision, a lot of listening, reading and writing. And could be used for the most languages, not only Spanish.

Plan

Every day:

Conjugate one verb in present, past and future tenses

Make a list about 10 - 30 words long

Create flashcards with them and start learning them (I use Quizlet for flashcards)

Revise yesterday's set of flashcards

2-3 times a week:

Read an article or a few pages from a book

Write a few sentences about anything in your target language

Listen to one episode of podcast (at least one)

Once a week or every two weeks:

Watch a movie in your target language, preferably animated movie as the language used there is easier. You can watch with subtitles

Grammar exercises

Translate some short text

Once a month:

Write something longer, like an essay or report, on chosen topic

Additionally:

Talk to yourself, to your friends, to your pets

Text with someone

Look at the transcription while listening to the podcast for second time

Repeat what you hear (in podcast or movie)

Check words you don't know from the listening and reading

Read out loud

Listen to music in your target language - you can even learn the text and sing along

Watch YouTube in your target language

Change your phone language to the one you're learning

Think in you target language!!!

***This is very intense plan for self-learners, you don't have to do all of these things in the given time. Adjust it to your own pace. I'll try to stick to this, if I have enough time.***

every time I finish a book or go to a particularly interesting museum exhibit, art/theatre piece, or watch a great film, I force myself to write a short little “book report” in my journal. I use it to reflect on what I gained from the experience. This has helped me through many mental health lapses simply by remembering that I am an adventurer and there is always room to grow from those experiences. It has been awesome to look back even years later and see what new information I learned, what insightful epiphanies I had, and how the whole book/exhibit/movie/play/gallery inspired me to become someone better.

The most important thing I discovered?

Learning does not end when you finish school. 

I wanted it to be over so bad after college. But school is just the tip of the iceberg. If you simply decide to make learning a lifelong goal, and document it for yourself as best you can, you will go far!

LET NOTHING STAND IN THE WAY OF YOU CREATING A LIBRARY FULL OF YOUR OWN RESEARCH, even if that research is focused on how you dive into yourself.
