completed the cards I made for the nearby masonic senior home and brought them to the post office this morning!
here are a couple snaps of my notebook for khan's ap art course 🔆
Here’s a 2020 edition of that coffee post — it seems that no matter what I am still all about iced coffee (with oat milk) when I’m writing on hot summer days

i’m not entirely sure why elegant epistles: being a copious collection of familiar and amusing letters, selected for the improvement of young persons, and for general entertainment needed, in all its copious glory, to have 53 publishers but it does, indeed, list 53 publishers in its imprint and it turns out all 53 of them are a massive pain in the ass

It has been super hard for me to get up in the mornings in the last 2 weeks. One night I sat own with my thoughts and my journal and I wrote down my intentions and I thought, okay, how can I change? What are some small steps that I can take? I ended up setting 5 simple rules for me: 1. After you wake up, change from those pajamas, girl! Without this I can risk spending my whole day in bed. 2. Make your bed. 3. Drink a glass of water! 🌊 I have a bad habit of drowning myself (hahahaha) in work and forgetting to hydrate so I do it at least in the morning. 4. Do your skin care routine and brush your damn teeth. 5. Have a breakfast in the kitchen, at a table! I have the bad habit of skipping meals , and also bringing my food to my room and eating in bed. I am well aware that these are not some revolutionary things but they are absolutely necessary for me to start my day on a good note & not waste it away and to take care of myself, which has been hard. If anything, this can be a small reminder to TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF <3 It is hard to start, but worth it! So stop scrolling: clean that room, drink water and stop being your own obstacle. love, edith more content on instagram: @fivestarstudy_ ko-fi: @fivestarstudy_

The weekend. Same as any other day now really, with less work. With all the time in the flat I’m trying to do the things I’ve wanted to do but been putting off: I’m propagating tomatoes and herbs, sorting through these old copies of LRB and other magazines and papers, I’m going to complete that half-finished human rights law short course, tidy my kitchen cupboards and make pasta with the 00 flour that is still sat in a jar. All good time-filling things. But it’s also enough to just sit in the sun for an hour with a beer and a book, isn’t it
i see a lot of my black mutuals in pain and struggling mentally lately so if any of you need it here's a post of mental health resources made by a black woman specifically for black people struggling right now... i love you all so much please take care of yourselves
just because there aren't as many posts of blm circulating and just because we're slowly posting regular "aesthetic" content again it does not mean you have the right to stop educating yourself on issues that affect black people. continue to educate yourself and others, call out racism when you see it and continue to donate and sign petitions. activism that only occurs when somebody dies or something devastating happens is not proper activism, it is performative. so, just because you aren't posting as much about blm or other issues anymore, it does NOT mean you can go back to being ignorant. continue to stay aware. keep that energy and use it and your privilege to help black people and amplify their voices. us non-black people need to recognise that choosing when to speak up or speaking up when it is big is a privilege and is ignorant and we need to fix this.
you were meant to see this post. this post showed up on your screen for a reason. you are loved. whatever issue you may be going through right now, whether it be school or family or love, it will pass. it will pass, and you will be okay in the end. you will survive this.
